Chapter 26
Cyn’s POV
I’m wearing a dark red mini dress with red heels and my hair down in it’s natural wavy state. I finished off my look with a smoky eye, it’s not as good as when Helena does it but I think I did a pretty good job.
“Wow.” I hear behind me. I turn to see Josh standing there, dressed in a tight black shirt and tight blue jeans. His hair was in it’s normally tousled state and I itched to touch it.
“Not bad, huh?” I asked him. He shook his head and approached me slowly before stopping right in front of me, inches away. “That’s the understatement of the century, you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” He declared. I blushed fiercely and scooted past him.
“You ready to go?” I asked him as I turned my head to look back. I noticed his eyes were dark and full of lust. I’m thankful that he’s kept his promise and hasn’t made any moves on me, I know he’s wanted to.
“Yes,” he said huskily, “let’s go.” He gently grabbed my hand and led me outside to his car. Josh drove fast while I let the wind from the window blow through my hair, rejuvenating me. After about an hour of comfortable silence, we arrived at a place called Sin’s. I thought the name was funny considering my nickname. Josh exited the vehicle and went around to open my door for me like a gentleman. We walked up and the line was extremely long. I began to feel dejected until he ushered me forward and we walked up to the bouncer. He looked into his eyes and said, “let us in.” The bouncer’s pupils expanded and he opened up the door for us.
Once we were in I turned to face Josh. “What was that?”
“It’s called glamouring, it’s a sort of brainwashing that vampires can do.” He answered.
“Have you ever glamoured me?” I asked nervously.
“No baby, if I did, we would be together.” He leaned forward and gave me a soft peck on the forehead before pulling me towards the bar.
“Do you want something?” He asked.
“Um, I’m not old enough to drink.”
Josh laughed and looked at the bartender, ordering two whiskey and cokes.
“Glamour, remember? I don’t use it often but I’m making an exception tonight so we can have some fun. You need it.” He winked.
The bartender passed us our drinks and I took a small sip, almost choking on how strong the alcohol flavor was. Josh chuckled lightly and took a big gulp of his drink. “Show off,” I stuck my tongue out at him. We stood at the bar for awhile just ordering drinks until I finally felt a little tipsy.
“Let’s dance,” he grabbed my hand and led me to the dance floor. A slow sensual song came on and we swayed together. Josh grabbed onto my hips and I put my arms around his neck, moving softly with each other. The moment was filled with sexual tension and I could feel an ache deep inside my stomach. Suddenly, guilt floored me when I thought of Tucker.
I sighed and pulled away from Josh. “What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I was feeling bad because of Tucker.” I told him truthfully.
“Do you think he’s coming back? It’s been months.” Josh said.
“I don’t know anymore, but today, I’m feeling completely hopeless.” I told him. Josh nodded when I came up with an idea. It may be a bit crazy, but if it would take away the pain, then it would be worth it.
“Can you glamour me? Take away the pain please Josh. I can’t stand it anymore.” I begged with tears in my eyes.
“I don’t know Cyn, is that really what you want?” He said while scratching the back of his neck.
“Yes, I’m certain.” I looked at him with big eyes, desperate for relief. He sighed and paced the floor a bit.
“Are you sure? I need you to be 100%.”
“Take it away, please.”
Josh grabbed me by the shoulders and looked into my eyes deeply, I felt I was in a trance as his pupils grew large and his eyes started to glow. “You’re completely happy, you no longer feel the pain of losing Tucker. Everything is right with the world. You’ll no longer cry over the loss and you’ll move forward with positive thinking.” He stayed staring into my eyes as I felt a haziness take over my brain. I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath.
When I opened my eyes, I felt as if I was seeing the club in a new light. The music was pumping and I had Josh in front of me. He’s been a constant for me and always there, even at my worst moments. I looked up at him and smiled before embracing him in a tight hug. Why was I so sad anyway? If Tucker ran off with his mate, so be it, it wasn’t meant to be. I took a good hard look at the man in front of me and pulled his face closer to mine before pressing my lips to his.
When we pulled apart he whispered, “what was that for?”
“Because I wanted to. I’m tired of being depressed, I just want to do what makes me happy, and you make me happy Josh.” I told him with a soft voice. He smiled down at me with a look filled with adoration and pulled me flush against him. “It makes me happy that you’re happy. Let’s dance baby.” He grabbed my hand and twirled me around, making me giggle. A huge smile adorned my face as we danced the night away and forgot about the worries in the world.
When we left the club, I was high on adrenaline from all the dancing and couldn’t help but skip through the street until we reached his car.
“Did you have fun?” He asked as he opened the passenger door for me.
“Yes, it was a blast, thank you for taking me out tonight and thank you for taking away the pain. I don’t even remember why I was so sad now, especially knowing that everything will be alright.” I told him.
Josh gave me a crooked grin and leaned down to peck my forehead. Before he could pull away I grabbed his face and pulled him to me, pressing my lips to his again. Josh groaned as I opened my mouth and let him in. We tasted each other until I couldn’t breathe anymore and had to pull back, panting hard.
He caressed the top of my head and pressed a soft kiss to my lips before pulling away.
“Take things slow Cyn, I don’t want you doing anything you’ll regret.” He murmured.
“I don’t regret this at all.” I told him honestly.
“You may feel that way now, but I want you to continue to feel that way. I won’t jeopardize anything between us. Slow is safer. I have all the time in the world.” He stared into my eyes, his deep blue ocean eyes seemed to say a million words. I knew I was safe with him and that this was right. He was right.
“Let’s head home, okay baby?” He said as he entered the driver’s side door.
We held hands as he sped through the streets until we finally arrived at his house. Hand in hand, we walked in and met his father at the door. “Hello Mr. Henry.” I greeted with a smile.
“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Frank, dear?” He let out a jolly laugh. I absolutely adored Mr. Henry. A few times I went with him and Josh to visit the orphanage where he worked and the children were wonderful. I just hope that they can all find homes soon.
“Okay Frank.” I smiled.
He patted my head and let me and Josh go so we ran to Josh’s room, laughing our hearts out.
We both flew onto the bed and landed with a soft thud. Josh’s fingers caressed mine as we stared into each other’s eyes. I soon fell asleep and my sleep was peaceful that night while I lay in Josh’s arms.
