Chapter 28
Cyn’s POV
I was dancing with Josh, I enjoyed the feel of him grinding against my ass. I want him, but he keeps insisting that he would be taking advantage of me if he gave in. I don’t know why though.
I walked off to the center of the dance floor, looking for another dancing parter. I found a tall man with blonde hair and grey eyes and started to dance with him. All of a sudden, a strong arm ripped me away from him. I turned to look at the offender and my mouth opened wide. Tucker. He looked weary but still looked good.
“Tucker! I was going to come see you afterwards! Why are you here?” I squealed in excitement.
“Is dancing more important than me?” He growled. I looked into his angry eyes. “It’s not more important, but I was having fun,” I pouted. He looked at me in disbelief. “Is that all you have to say?”
“Um, I missed you?” I answered him. It’s true I did miss him, but not as much as I used to. I got used to not having him around.
He grabbed my shoulders and pulled me flush against his body roughly. “I missed you every day. I would’ve done anything to get back. In fact I did do something so I could make it back to you and when I show up, you’re grinding on someone else.”
“You’ve been gone for months!” I yelled at him, frustrated.
He grabbed me by the chin roughly and forced his lips to mine. I whimpered and he shoved his tongue in my mouth. Damn, he’s such a good kisser. We made out for a couple of minutes, I felt him feel me up before he settled his hands on my ass. I squealed when he gave me a swat on my ass. “That’s what you get dirty girl. Here I was worried about you but you seem just fine.” He chuckled humorlessly. His eyes darkened and that’s when I noticed something. I pulled away and gasped. “You don’t smell the same, you don’t smell like a wolf.”
“I gave up my wolf to get to you. In fact, I have a surprise for you.” He grabbed me by the hand and pulled me towards the bar where there was a short woman with long red hair and beautiful brown eyes. “Meet my mate, Mina.” I staggered back, what Alex said was true, he did meet his mate. He ran his hand through his hair, “it’s not like what you’re thinking, I already rejected her. Mina is a witch, she’s going to remove the mark on your neck.” I touched my neck where Alex forcibly marked me and was overcome with excitement to get it removed. “Thank you!” I ran to her and enveloped her in an embrace.
She seemed a bit nervous and nodded, “nice to meet you Cyn, Tucker’s told me all about you.”
“So why did you reject Mina? She seems lovely.” I asked Tucker. He looked at me incredulously. “I did it for you! Everything I’ve done was for you! I can’t believe this.” He muttered. “I’m fine Tucker, don’t stress out. Let’s dance and have fun.” I tried to grab him by the hand but he yanked it away. “First let’s get rid of that mark, then we can talk. Follow me.” His spine was rigid as he led me outside and to his car. “Where are we going? I should probably tell Josh I’m leaving.” I pulled out my phone and texted him. Tucker’s face darkened further at the mention of Josh. “Did you two fuck?” He asked. I looked at him confused, “you have a mate yet you have the gall to ask if I slept with someone else. If you must know, no.” I crossed my arms over my chest while Tucker drove. Soon, he arrived at his grandmother’s house. When we got out of the car I ran inside to say hi to granny. “Hello grandma!” I chirped when I saw her. She pulled me in an embrace and looked me in the eye, “are you okay?” I gave her a confused look, “why wouldn’t I be?”
Her mouth hung open, “what happened to you?”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Don’t worry about it child.” She whispered to me. “We’ll get you figured out soon enough.”
Tucker and Mina walked in and he guided me to the living room. I sat on a couch and watched as Mina drew a circle on the hardwood floor with chalk. She drew some sort of marking in the circle and then beckoned me forward. I went to her and she cut my palm with a small knife before squeezing the blood into a small wooden bowl. “Sit in the center of the circle.” I followed her instructions and sat down. Mina began chanting something in a different language before she approached me and took the blood along with some other stuff she put in the bowl and used her finger to draw on the mark on my neck. I couldn’t see it but it felt like an X. She lit some candles that she used to surround the circle and then she stepped out and began chanting. I started to feel a tingling sensation in the mark that turned into a burning feeling the longer she chanted. Soon I began to scream, the pain was too much. Next thing I know, I succumbed to darkness.
“She’ll be fine. It’s just a lot to take in.” I heard a female say.
“How can you say that? She was screaming and then passed out.” I heard a male say. I groaned and tried to sit up. “Cyn!” I hear the male say as I feel arms wrapping around my shoulders. I blinked away the darkness and looked at the man in front of me. He was very handsome with dark brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes. “Who are you? An angel?” I asked him. He frowned and turned to look at the red head. “What the fuck happened? Why doesn’t she know who I am?”
“I-I d-don’t know.” The woman stuttered. I looked around, taking in my unfamiliar surroundings.
“Well fix it!” He yelled at the woman.
“I don’t know how!” She yelled back. I watched the exchange between the two, very confused.
I stood up, tired of listening to them argue. “Can someone tell me what happened?” I asked. They both looked at me and the man approached me. “I’m Tucker, you’re my girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend? Who am I?” I asked him. “Your name is Cynthia Jackson, but you go by Cyn. You’re 18 years old and a senior at Marilyn Walker High School. We removed a mark that someone gave you forcibly, but it’s had some unwanted side effects.”
“So that’s why I can’t remember anything?” I asked him. He nodded in response and paced the floor. I wanted to go to him and assure him that I’m fine but I wasn’t sure how. Even though I can’t remember anything, I still felt like everything was okay and there was nothing to worry about.
“So what do we do now?” Tucker asked the redhead. “I’ll look into it in my spell book, just give me a little time. It could just be temporary.”
“It better be. Dammit!” He punched the wall, putting a hole in it. Wow, he’s violent.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but I feel tired, can I take a shower and get changed?” I asked him.
“Of course baby, let me show you to our room.” He grabbed my hand gently and led me up the stairs to a room with a bathroom and a balcony. I went to the balcony first and stood outside, looking up at the night sky. For some reason, the moon gives me peace. Tucker comes behind me and pulls me in an embrace that feels right. “I’m sorry I got so angry.” He whispers in my ear. He turns me around and pressed his lips to mine. I moan a little and feel him grab me a bit harder. “You don’t know how badly I want you.” He whispered while sucking my ear lobe. I whimper and he pulls me even closer and sighs. “Here, I got you some clothes, you can take a shower and then we can go to bed.” “Okay,” I answered him.
I go to the bathroom and undress before adjusting the water so the temperature is perfect. I noticed my phone vibrating and go to it, I’m assuming it’s mine since I had it on me. I see a text from someone named Josh.
Josh: are you ok? You disappeared, did I do something wrong? All you said was that you were leaving.
Me: sorry, I don’t know what you did or I did. I’m spending the night with my boyfriend. We can talk later.
Josh: boyfriend? What are you talking about?
I looked at the message in confusion. Do I have a boyfriend?
Me: do I not have a boyfriend named Tucker?
Josh: you used to, he’s been gone for months. Is he back?
Me: he’s claiming I’m his girlfriend. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t even know who you are.
Josh: sit tight, I’ll be right there.
I put my phone down and hop in the shower. I guess I’m going to meet Josh. Who do I believe?
I felt a pain in my head and gripped it. My head felt like it was splitting in two when all of a sudden a something busted through. I was sitting on the floor in a library and looking at Tucker before I went and pressed my lips to him. I remember thinking that I gave my first kiss to the school playboy and I did it while running from something. The pain in my head subsided and when I opened my eyes I was still in the shower. I showered quickly and got dressed. Tucker was my first kiss and it was magical. A smile crept on my face as I started to feel reassured that he was probably my boyfriend.
