Chapter 25
Tucker’s POV
3 months. That’s how long I’ve been stuck in this hellhole. Everyday Cyn is on my mind while I’m awake and even as I sleep.
*knock, knock, knock*
I heard knocking on the front door. I went to it, hoping it would let me open it but no luck. I needed to wait for the witch to open it herself. After the first month she finally let me out of the room to wander the house but I’ve had no luck in escaping still.
*knock, knock*
“Mina! You have a visitor!” I sing out to my captor. She finally comes in the room frustrated.
“Who the heck is here?” She mutters to herself. She goes to open the door and I prepare myself to run out. As soon as it opens I vault towards it but I’m thrown back.
Damn! I’m unable to go past her visitor.
“Miss. Cook,” the visitor greets. My eyes turn into saucers as I finally get a piece of information I’ve been dying for.
“What the fuck do you want Jose?” She asked.
“Besides you? Nothing, I just wanted to visit.” He greets. I sit there with my legs crossed and call out, “hey Mina, I, Tucker Wilson, reject you, Mina Cook.”
All of a sudden, I feel a large pain in my chest and I gasp, bending over.
“You idiot! Why would you do that?” She gasped out.
Even through the pain, I smile. “Mina. I need you to do me a favor.”
“What makes you think I would do anything for you?” She asked while clutching her chest.
“How can you remove a mark?” I asked her. She looked at me incredulously. Actually, this is the longest conversation we’ve had since my first few days that I arrived.
“Well it’s not hard, with the right spell.” She mused.
“I have a…friend. She was marked forcibly, and I’d like to help her get the mark removed.” Her eyes softened at what I told her.
“What’s in it for you?” She asked.
“I’m in love with her.” I answered simply.
She nodded, seemingly understanding why I rejected her.
“I can’t let you go, but I can do something for her.” She said.
I sighed, “I understand. As long as she’s happy, that’s all I care about.”
“So, is anyone going to tell me what’s going on?” Jose asked.
“No!” Mina and I both yelled at the same time.
He shrugged his shoulders and acted like nothing happened while he took a seat on one of her recliners.
“I need to see her.” I told Mina. She simply shook her head, “no can do lover boy.”
I growled in frustration and stomped towards her. In her face I yelled, “why the fuck am I still here? I’ve rejected you, there’s no reason for you to keep me around!”
“I told you before, I was paid to keep you here.”
“I’ll pay you more,” I begged her.
“Oh really? So you’ll pay more than 2 million?” I stood awestruck, how the fuck could Alex afford that much?
“Give me some time, and I’ll pay it.” I told her.
She sighed, “I can’t do that, and now that you’ve rejected me, you’re lucky you’re still alive.”
What am I supposed to do now? How am I supposed to get that amount of money? If I had that much money, I’d gladly pay her, but I don’t.
“I’ll do anything.” I begged.
“Mmm.” She hummed.
“There has to be something.” I was grasping at straws at this point.
“Look, there is something that I can’t get by myself, even though I’m super powerful and all,” she said as I rolled my eyes. “What is it?”
“I need blood of a devil for a spell. Is that something you can do?” She asked seriously.
“Fuck I don’t know, but I’ll do anything.”
“Okay, tomorrow, I’ll send you to California, there you can surely find devils, they tend to hang around clubs. If for a second I think you’re double crossing me, I won’t hesitate to bring you back and keep you locked up indefinitely.”
“Deal.” I rushed past her and headed upstairs to my room. I’ve slowly become accustomed to life here, unfortunately. I locked my door from the inside and laid down on the bed, thinking of all the things I would say to Cyn as soon as I see her. I couldn’t wait to talk to her, to touch her velvety skin and to hear her angelic voice. I was willing to do anything.
*knock, knock*
That’s odd, normally Mina doesn’t knock. I opened the door to find Jose on the other side. He was scratching the back of his head and looked nervous.
“Hey, bro.” He greeted.
“Um, hey?”
“Can I come in?” He asked. I opened the door further and let him pass me.
“I need to know, what can I do to win Mina over.” He asked. I looked at him confused. “I don’t fucking know, but the chick is nuts, you can have her for yourself.”
He growled, “I mean, what’s so special about you?”
“I don’t know, I didn’t even want her. It’s not my fault we were mated. Now that I rejected her, she’s a free woman.” I told him.
He grunted before he started pacing the room.
“Surely you know something that she likes, you’ve been living here after all.” He said.
“Honestly dude, we stay out of each other’s way. She tried getting close to me at first but I ignored her and she stopped trying after awhile.”
He nodded his head, seemingly in understanding. “I see.”
“You know her better than I do.” I reassured him.
He stopped, apparently his resolve strengthened, “you’re right.”
“So go get her dude.” I told him as I pushed him out of my room and closed the door behind his tall form.
I plopped on my bed and closed my eyes, thinking about Cyn.
Alex’s POV
I’ve been nonstop thinking about Cyn. Ever since I marked her, my wolf has been begging me to go to her. I haven’t even been able to think about sex with someone other than her. It’s really frustrating. I thought telling her about Tucker being mated would’ve made things happen between us but she’s been resisting, even though it’s been months. I’m concerned about her staying with Josh. I know things are platonic between them but I’m worried it may become more. It’s the weekend right now and I was headed over to Josh’s house to spy on her. It’s become my weekend routine. I shifted and headed that way. I peeked in his window and saw her sleeping in his arms. Son of a bitch, they better not have slept together, I don’t want to have to get rid of someone else. I already spent a lot of money on getting rid of Tucker, I didn’t want to have to spend more money, though if it was for Cyn’s sake, I’d spend more money all over again. I turned away from the window and took my wolf on a walk through the woods. I came upon a stream and lapped up some water. A bird chirped in the distance and my wolf sighed at the calmness of the forest. I made my way back home and shifted, changing back into my pants and shirt.
“Where have you been?” My buddy Jason asked me.
“Just checking on Cyn.” I answered. He hmm’d and didn’t say anything else. That’s what I like most about him, he doesn’t stick his nose in other people’s business.
“I think it’s almost time.” I told him.
“You sure?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m ready to have my mate back in my arms, I’ve given her space, now it’s time to try and push her a little my way.
“If you think so.” He said.
“Yeah, for sure. She’ll see who the real hero is after this and I guarantee she’ll come crawling back to me.”
