Chapter 16

Cyn’s POV

I woke up in Tucker’s arms and I stopped to just look at his handsome face. He’s been so good to me and super supportive in everything. I really am lucky to have him. I blushed remembering last night. I was a bit anxious at first but I needed to get rid of the thoughts that were swirling around my mind about Alex. I can’t believe Tucker told me he loves me. Do I love him? I feel like I still don’t know him that well, but I’d like to know him better. I stretched in the bed and stood up to get ready for school. I’m not looking forward to it whatsoever.
“Hey baby, how’d you sleep?” I hear from behind me. I was so lost in thought I didn’t hear Tucker approaching.
I turned around in his arms. “I slept decent having you next to me.” I smiled up at him. It’s true, I don’t know what state I’d be in without him.
“Are you sure that you want to go back today? I don’t mind playing hooky if that’s what you need.” He asked.
“I’m sure, I can’t stay holed up forever.” I told him.
He nodded his head before giving me a quick kiss. “Alright, well we both need to get ready or we’ll be late.”
“Okay, I’m going to take a quick shower and get dressed.” I told him. I walked off to gather my clothes and a towel before hopping in the shower. I quickly scrubbed down and washed my hair before drying and dressing. Today I was wearing a pair of skinny jeans, converse, and a black long sleeved shirt to make sure I was completely covered. I didn’t want any questions from anyone. I’m thankful Tucker didn’t ask me anything, otherwise, I would’ve probably broke down.
After we were both ready we got in his car and drove to the school. He opened my door for me and walked me to my first class. “If you need to leave or need anything at all, let me know, I’ll come right away, okay?” He told me.
“Thank you, Tucker. You’re amazing.” I smiled at him. He pressed his lips to mine and after a minute pulled away to head to his class. I entered the room, thankful that I didn’t have Alex this first class. I sat down and immediately after Helena came in and ran straight to me.
“I missed you girl! Things at the pack house are certainly boring with you gone. Did you know that Tucker left the pack?” She began spitting out all this information, overwhelming me.
She looked at my face and apologized. “Sorry. Anyway, I missed you. How are you?”
“I’m okay, Tucker has been extremely helpful.” I tell her.
The bell then rang and we both settled down. I noticed Josh was absent from school today.
“Where’s Josh? Has he been in class?” I asked Helena since I missed the last few days.
“He hasn’t been here, I don’t know why. Also you should know, Alex is in the pack hospital. He was in really bad shape yesterday.” The teacher then gave her a dirty look to stop talking.
“I’ll tell you more after school.” She whispered. I nodded my head and tried to ignore the news she just gave me and pay attention in class. I already knew that Tucker beat him up but I didn’t know how bad it was.
Class passed quickly and Tucker met me at the classroom door right afterward. “Damn, that was quick!” I laughed.
“I wasn’t wasting a second to get to you.” He answered. His hazel eyes stared into my green eyes and I felt like he was touching my soul. The moment was soon spoiled by Mary.
“Tucker! Where have you been?” She whined. She tried to touch his arm but he moved out of the way. “Don’t disrespect my girlfriend. Buzz off.” He told her before wrapping his arms around my shoulders and guiding me to my next class.
I buried my face into my chest, enjoying his warmth and support.
“I got you, Cyn. I’m not going anywhere.” He cooed into my ear. The rest of school went by uneventfully and I was thankful.
Helena came up to me after school and continued with what she was telling me first period. “You need to talk to your mom, she’s been worried about you. As far as Alex goes, he was torn up by another wolf, he’s saying it was Tucker who did it. Did you know that?” She asked me.
“Yes, I knew, I just didn’t know how bad it was. I still can’t believe he did it.”
“Why wouldn’t he do it? If he knew what Alex did, it makes sense. Personally, I think he deserved it. I don’t feel bad at all, but I’m only concerned because he was talking about pressing charges on Tucker. In fact, the alpha encouraged him to.”
“But why, and how would he explain the wounds caused by another wolf to the police? They’re only human and wouldn’t understand.” I said.
“I’m not sure what he’s thinking, but I think Tucker should lie low for now. I also think you should go to the pack house right now and get with your mother.” I slowly nodded, I didn’t want to go but I understood that there were things that needed to be done.
“Okay, I’ll ask Tucker to take me.” I told her. Helena gave me a hug and took off walking to the pack house.
I sighed and entered the car with Tucker, “please take me to the pack house.”
“Is everything okay?” He asked.
I sighed, “no. Alex is thinking about pressing charges against you. Did you really tear him up that bad? They said he’s in the pack hospital.” I asked nervously.
He grabbed my hands and looked into my eyes, “yes. I did it and I would do it again, no hesitation. I know he’s the reason you’ve been this way and it’s okay that you don’t want to tell me the details, but I know you and I’m confident I already know what happened. He should be buried in the ground but I can’t be with you if I’m in jail. Things will be okay, let him press charges, it was worth it.”
“But what if you’re arrested?” I asked him worriedly.
“Like I said, I’ll take the consequences. It’ll be worth it.” He then changed the subject, “so to the pack house?”
“Yes, please, I want to see my parents.”
“Okay, baby, let’s go.” He put the car in drive and we went to the pack house. I felt myself start panicking as we reached the familiar front gates.
“I’m with you.” Tucker grabbed my hand and squeezed, bringing me back to the present. I took a deep breath and we exited the vehicle.
I walked inside, trying to keep my head high. I felt like everyone was staring at me, even though they were all behaving like normal. Behaving like something tragic didn’t happen in this house. I walked straight to my parent’s room and knocked. Immediately my dad opened the door and pulled Tucker and I in.
“I’m so glad to see you sweetheart.” He squeezed the crap out of me.
“Can’t breathe dad.” I wheezed out. He reluctantly pulled away.
“Where’s mom?” I asked.
“She’s using the bathroom, she should be out soon.” He said.
“I missed you dad.” I told him with a smile.
“Is that my baby?” I heard my ma’s voice coming from the other room. I ran to her and she pulled me into a hug.
“I missed you.” She whispered into my ear. I decided to get straight down to business, I was itching to leave this house.
“Mama, I want to leave the pack, Tucker’s grandma said I could stay with them. Can I?” I asked her. She looked at me shocked and then tears welled up in her eyes. “Oh baby girl, if that’s what you need to heal then who am I to deny that? Just call everyday and I want to meet this woman to thank her for taking care of my baby.”
“I’m sure she’d like that, she’s wonderful mama. Tucker has also been amazing with me.” I took the opportunity to look over and see Tucker getting lectured by my father about not getting me pregnant. He paled and I ended up laughing at the whole thing. He looked at me and winked, making me blush.
“We’re about to head out ma, I need to pack some of my stuff for now. Thank you for everything. I love you.” I told her.
After saying our goodbyes, we went to my room and I packed up what I could. Helena had already grabbed most of my necessities before but there were still a few things I wanted. I finished up quickly and we went to leave my old room when the door slammed open. Standing there was Alex. My palms began sweating and I felt cold and shaky all over.
Tucker immediately got in his face, “get the fuck out.” Alex stood there, grinning, looking unharmed. Apparently his wolf healing already kicked in.
“You look too put together for my taste, get out before I fuck you up again.” Tucker growled. “You can’t do anything, I already have photos and a police report from when you jumped me before. I have the alpha as a witness, you’re going to jail soon, enjoy freedom while you can.” Alex smirked and then left the room. I stood there frozen like a statue.
Tucker gently removed the luggage from my hands and pulled me into him. “I’ll never let him hurt you again. I swear.” He whispered to me while rubbing my back. After a bit I slowly started to relax in his arms.
“Let’s get out of this house.” He said while grabbing my stuff. We scurried out and loaded up the car before leaving. I breathed a sigh of relief, glad to be done with this place. Is what Alex said true about Tucker going to jail soon? Why did Alex skip school if he’s healed up? Something doesn’t feel right.
