Healing
Becky's P.O.V
As I cautiously pushed open the heavy door in front of me I could feel my heart pounding loudly against my ribs. It was a strong and rapid beat that seemed to echo in my chest as a wave of nervous anticipation washed over me.
When I finally took that first step into the room it felt as if every single person in the pack turned their heads to look directly at me. Their gazes were intense and penetrating filled with a complex mix of emotions—some seemed hopeful while others appeared doubtful.
In that moment I could feel the immense weight of their expectations pressing down on me like a heavy burden that was difficult to carry. I could also hear soft murmurs moving through the room like ripples in a disturbed stream.
Their whispers were not just idle chatter they carried significant meaning and a weight that I wasn’t quite sure I was strong enough to handle.
“Attention everyone.” I said feeling a bit nervous but still resolute. My voice broke the heavy silence that filled the room. “I think I have discovered a method that could potentially cure Alpha Karl.”
The room suddenly filled with a loud chorus of gasps from everyone present. It was a surprising mix of disbelief and hope that seemed to hang in the air all around us. As I looked around the room my heart began to race and I felt my pulse quicken.
I took a moment to survey the faces of the pack around me. These were my friends and my allies and I could see the desperation in their eyes. They were all holding on tightly to any glimmer of hope they could find for saving our friend Karl. I realized that I had something very important in my hands—the delicate thread of possibility that could potentially lead to his rescue.
I made the choice to stop for a little while and take a serious moment to really notice the looks on their faces. I noticed that their eyebrows were lifted high which showed me that they were clearly wondering about the statement I had just made.
At the same time I could see their lips moving slightly as they were whispering to each other and showing that they had doubts about what I was saying.
“How is that possible?” Alpha Rian's voice rose above the soft whispers and quiet conversations around him. He stepped forward and his strong presence seemed to take up space in the room.
His forehead was wrinkled with worry and uncertainty showing just how concerned he was about what was happening.
Without thinking I found my arms crossing over my chest. It was like a natural instinct to protect myself.
“I'm not quite ready to talk about the details right now.” I said trying to sound confident even though my heart was beating rapidly in my chest.
Rian's voice was filled with frustration as he asked “What are you trying to say when you say you are not ready?” He continued “Karl is lying there in bed struggling to stay alive and you have a possible solution that could help him? This isn’t just a casual talk we can have whenever. We are in a serious situation here. We really need answers from you and we need them as soon as possible.”
“Let's be honest with each other.” Brian's voice interrupted the conversation sounding firm and challenging. “Do you really believe that you can just walk into this place act like you own it and tell us how things are going to be? If you really have a cure for what is happening then we absolutely need to understand how it works and what procedures we need to follow. It is incredibly important that we don't take unnecessary risks with Alpha Karl's life based on a method that we know nothing about.”
“That's enough Brian.” Jake said and I felt a surge of relief as he moved in closer his stance strong against Brian's hostility.
“If Becky says she has a solution we should listen to her. She's helped us before and has shown she knows what she's doing.”
I gave Jake a thankful smile but I could feel everyone watching me closely. My throat felt tight with a mix of worry and strength.
“I just… need a moment alone with him.” I said looking down at Karl's still body on the bed. “Please just let me have a few minutes in the room with him.”
“Are you crazy?” Brian laughed shaking his head in shock. “You can't mean that! What if you mess it up? What if you make things worse? We can't take a chance with Alpha Karl while we just stand here and do nothing!”
Rian always the calm one crossed his arms as the tension in the room felt heavy. “I get why you're worried Brian but if Becky thinks she can help him maybe we should let her try. She's shown she can do this before.”
“Or she might do something much worse.” Brian shot back his tone filled with doubt and hostility.
“That’s enough!” Rian's voice was loud making Brian stop complaining like a sudden thunderstorm. “You need to trust Becky or I will make sure you answer for ruining this important moment. Becky it’s your turn. Help him.”
I felt a wave of relief as I nodded and walked ahead. The instant the door shut behind me the heaviness in the room the doubt and uncertainty seemed to disappear. I walked toward Karl my heart racing as I looked at his pale still body.
“Hey Karl.” I whispered softly holding his hand noticing how cold his skin was. “It's me. I'm here. I will help you.”
When my fingers touched his a weird feeling rushed through me like a shock of electricity. It felt like our energies were mixing connecting us tightly. I shut my eyes giving all my strength and focus to him. I pictured a warm light a wave of comfort coming from me wrapping around him reaching deep inside him.
“Karl...” I said softly feeling the power building inside me getting stronger every second. “You need to fight. I'm here and I won’t leave you.”
Out of nowhere the room burst into chaos. Karl’s body shook hard and a painful loud scream shot from his mouth filling the small space like a loud crash.
“Becky!” Brian shouted full of rage as the door flew open almost coming off the hinges. He marched in his eyes burning with anger. “What are you doing to him you killer?!”
