Becky's P.O.V



I quickly blinked my eyes several times feeling a powerful surge of many different feelings rushing through my body as I stood still in that moment unable to take a step or move in any way.


My eyes were fixed with great focus on the pieces of broken glass that were scattered all around me in a chaotic manner.


They sparkled beautifully under the fading sunlight looking like little clusters of diamonds spread out on the floor. I couldn’t believe that I might have caused such a mess and destruction.


My heart was beating so fast that I thought it might jump out of my chest. I could feel my breathing becoming quicker and more frantic.


At that moment I found myself caught up in a storm of worry and confusion that felt overwhelming. Just a short time ago everything in my life seemed perfectly normal and just fine.


But now all of a sudden chaos had erupted everywhere around me leaving me feeling lost and uncertain.


Alpha Alex a person who was both respected and feared had been thrown violently out of the window. The shocking reality of what had just happened hit me like a strong electric shock leaving me frozen in place for a moment unable to move or think clearly.


“What in the world just happened?” Ron shouted loudly his voice breaking through the heavy silence in the room like a loud clap of thunder. His tone was filled with both anger and disbelief.


He took a threatening step toward me and I could see that his fists were tightly clenched at his sides. The atmosphere in the room was growing more and more tense with every second that went by.


Even though I was completely overwhelmed by a strong feeling of fear that took hold of me I forced myself to stay in the same place and not run away.


However I couldn't ignore the way my hands were shaking or how my eyes were growing wide with pure terror at what was happening.


“I—I really didn’t mean to do that!” I stumbled over my words my voice coming out as a very soft whisper that was so quiet it was almost hard to hear.


Out of nowhere as if it had been called by the noise and confusion around us a shadow dashed forward. This shadow quickly moved to stand in front of me and Ron as if it were trying to protect us.


It was Jake and I could see his strong muscular body bent down low. His sharp claws were out and ready showing that he was prepared for anything.


Just having him there made me feel a bit safer and helped to calm my fear for a short moment. His loyal presence was powerful and reassuring.


“Please step back Ron.” Jake said in a deep voice that seemed to carry weight sounding a bit like the rumble of thunder far away.


“I really don’t think you want to go through with this.” He stood tall and strong his posture fierce and unyielding like an animal prepared to protect its home and territory.


Ron looked at me with a sneer on his face and it was clear that he was filled with disdain and anger.


“How can you protect her after everything she did? Don’t forget that she attacked Alpha Alex!”


His accusing words echoed loudly in the room making everyone feel the tension that hung in the air like static electricity.


Jake’s angry look became even stronger and his face was as fierce and cutting as a knife.


“I told you to stay away from her” he warned his lips twisting into a menacing snarl similar to a wolf getting ready to pounce.


“What are you thinking? Do you really plan to touch her?” The way he spoke filled with protectiveness made me feel something warm inside a small spark of thankfulness that emerged even in the middle of all the chaos around us.


Just before things could get any worse a strong and powerful voice suddenly rang out cutting through the heavy tension in the air like a flash of lightning.


Alpha Rian walked into the room and his presence was so commanding that everyone felt it and knew they needed to pay attention to him. As soon as he arrived the entire room went completely silent.


You could almost feel the excitement and nervousness in the air as if everyone was holding their breath.


He then spoke with great authority saying “This ends now.” His voice had a powerful echo that made it clear he meant what he said.


I found it very difficult to breathe as I was caught in a chaotic whirlwind of panic and confusion. It felt like a heavy weight was pressing down on my chest almost like being squeezed tightly in a vice.


Summoning up the courage to take a quick look at Alex I was taken aback by what I saw. He was struggling to walk back into the room limping in a way that showed he was in a lot of pain.


His body was covered in bruises and blood and his face showed a combination of disbelief and residual hurt.


“Alex...” I whispered quietly feeling a strong surge of guilt rising up inside me.


It was as if this feeling was so overwhelming that it might completely take over my entire being leaving me with no escape from it.


He caught my attention and for a very short and quick moment it felt like time had come to a complete stop.


Everything chaotic and noisy around us seemed to disappear completely as if it didn’t exist at all.


However that feeling didn’t last long it vanished just as quickly as it had come.


“Why would you choose to do something like that?” Ron's voice was quiet but full of blame cutting through the silence around us like a sharp knife aimed at my heart.


It felt as if he was trying to hurt me with his words. “You could have really injured him badly!”


“I was about to say that I didn't do anything wrong.” I started to explain and defend myself.


However before I could say anything else Jake interrupted me. He spoke up with a tone in his voice that sounded fierce and protective as if he was standing up for me.


“You often point the finger at her really quickly Ron. It might be worth considering that if your Alpha hadn’t pressured her then perhaps this situation wouldn’t have occurred in the first place” he replied sharply.


His loyalty was clear as he stood right beside me and I could feel the comforting warmth of his support surrounding me like a protective barrier…
