My secret
Becky's P.O.V
The blanket stretched out beneath my hands was quite rough and had a coarse texture. As I touched it with my trembling fingers I realized that it didn’t really bring me any comfort at all.
All of a sudden out of nowhere I found myself being pulled backward into my room. It happened so fast that I didn’t have any time to get ready for it.
Jake's hand gripped my arm tightly and the strength with which he did it took me by surprise.
This unexpected action sent a sudden wave of shock all through my body making me feel unsettled and confused.
Normally Jake is a person who seems to be free-spirited and relaxed. He often has this playful smile on his face that I have learned to identify as his unique way of expressing himself.
However at this moment his face looked entirely different from what I was used to seeing. Instead of his usual cheerful expression his face was now serious and seemed to convey a sense of urgency.
This sudden change in his demeanor made me feel really confused. I couldn’t understand why he looked this way and along with that confusion I started to feel a growing sense of unease and fear deep inside me.
I could feel a cold sensation running down my back almost like it was trying to tell me something serious was coming. It felt like a warning as if a terrible storm filled with uncertainty and fear was on the way and about to occur.
“What is it?” I suddenly asked my voice full of confusion that I couldn't hide. It felt like my mind was being hit by a huge wave of puzzlement washing over me relentlessly.
I was struggling to understand what was happening and the more I tried the more confused I became.
“What’s wrong Jake?” I added my words lingering in the air around us. I was hoping for something comforting to come back to me in response but deep down I was also afraid of what the answer might be.
For just a brief moment he seemed to pause and hold back glancing around the room with quick movements of his eyes.
It was as if he was looking for something specific—maybe a hidden danger lurking in the dark corners or a possible threat that was pretending to be something normal and safe.
While I was watching him closely I suddenly started to feel uneasy and uncomfortable. This feeling grew stronger and stronger like a heavy weight slowly pressing down inside my chest making it hard to breathe.
It was as if there was an ominous feeling in the air a sense that something bad was about to happen just lurking there waiting for the right moment to show itself.
“There’s some trouble Becky” he finally said and as he spoke I could hear the urgency in his voice. It was so low and deep that it felt like a rumble sending a wave of anxiety through my body. “It’s serious trouble.”
Normally his warm eyes were filled with brightness and kindness but now they held a chilling intensity that felt almost suffocating. “Alpha Alex and Beta Ron have arrived. Their visit… it’s not good.”
When I heard their names my heart jumped in my chest feeling a strong and sudden shock. Alex who is the powerful leader of the Crimson Moon pack was one of them.
And then there was Ron his devoted and steadfast second-in-command. I couldn't help but wonder what they were doing here in Ravensong. What could possibly bring them to this place? And why did their arrival fill the air with a tense sense of danger that seemed to crackle and pulse around me?
“What do you mean by that?” I was able to ask even though my voice felt tight and filled with worry like a grip closing around my throat. “Can you please tell me what is happening?”
Jake leaned back comfortably against the wall looking very serious and somewhat unhappy which was quite different from how he usually acted.
He said “I happened to hear a conversation they were having with Alpha Rian. They were talking about you and your special… abilities. They were discussing the possibility of using them.”
The weight of what he said hung in the air around us creating an atmosphere that felt heavy and hard to breathe in like a thick fog. I felt a chill run through my body as I realized what he was hinting at.
“Using my powers?” I thought to myself in disbelief. How in the world could they have found out about that? My mind quickly traveled back to the day that changed everything for me—the day when those amazing powers inside me first started to show themselves.
They had been hidden away for so many years and I had been feeling empty and incomplete like I was missing a part of myself until they finally awakened. This whole situation felt like a terrible dream one from which I could not escape.
“Jessy.” I whispered gently letting her name escape my lips as if it were a magical spell weighted down with all the bitterness I felt. Jessy Bloodmoon was her full name a name that carried a reputation. She was the cunning and merciless Luna of the Bloodmoon pack and to add to the complications she was engaged to Karl.
This was the same Jessy who seemed to have held an unquenchable grudge against me from the very first moment I set foot in Ravensong. I couldn’t shake the feeling that it had to be her behind this.
She was the only person who was fully aware of my secret—my powers. She was also the only one with both the motive and the ruthless nature necessary to plan something like this.
I asked “It’s Jessy right?” My voice shook just a little bit hinting at the fear that was building up inside me.
I realized that she was the person who informed them about everything. She is the one who is trying to take advantage of me for her own purposes
