Chapter 52

This fight has been a choreographed dance of destruction for so long, tearing us where we need to heal. The time has come for some new moves. The time has come to use empathy instead of an armoury. It's time to let folks say the truths that have tortured them so that a new and better future can emerge. But before than I had a fight left to win.
I saw the way that Rubina slashed at Blossom on her forehead and she started bleeding immediately as the blood flowing into her eyes blinded her and then Rubina caught hold of her in a death grip and started choking her until Blossom tapped her hand thrice and yielded. It was a bad way to win a fight but I had been trained this from my childhood that no fight was ever going to be fair and I had to be wary of every sneak attacks that were going to be thrown in my direction.
The judges rang the bell and immediately Rubina kicked her in the middle of Blossom’s stomach making her cry out with pain and Salazar bit in Buddy’s leg at that moment causing Blossom to shriek out. That snake was going down today, I growled at myself.
Luke also growled out so loud that everyone in the hall looked at the both of us. I placed my hand in his fur and soaked in his anger and rage. This was the time that I desperately needed his fury to combat with a wolf who had been imbued with demonic powers. What I needed was fury and it was bursting in my veins. And then I could feel a familiar presence in the auditorium. But it was daytime….how was it possible?
I knew that Credence was here…he was here and somehow he knew that I needed him. My wolf inside me purred with pleasure because she wanted to be close to Credence. But vampires were supposed to be our enemies and our wolves were supposed to know that then why this strange thing was happening?
“Sin! It is time to focus. They will be calling you any moment now,” said Serafina and I nodded. I admonished my wolf and said that there would a lot of time to think about the vampire later on but right now we needed to kick Rubina’s ass and if she was not listening to me or focusing then it was we who would be lying there bleeding. Rubina might have gone easy on Blossom but she was not going to do that with me. I had called her out and had defeated her publicly so many times. She would want to show her dominance as a woman and an Alpha over me.
“The second and the final round is going to be held after a break of thirty minutes,” announced Mason and I looked at Serafina. I was feeling pumped. Blossom was running towards the doctor who was treating Buddy. She was crying so hard and I knew that I had to go to her. Luke and I both ran in that direction and Serafina followed me as well.
“Sera do you have that other vial of antidote on you?” I asked my witch. She looked at me baffled and then nodded saying yes.
“Give it to Buddy. Now,” I ordered. Drima was looking at me with a strange expression and Serafina said,” That is the only back up I have in case something happens to you, Sin. If it does then I am never going to be able to forgive myself.”
“This is on me Sera. I am never going to live if I know that there was a chance that I could save Blossom’s familiar and I chose not to,” I told her and she looked at me pleading but she gave me the vial and I immediately gave it to Blossom.
“Feed it to him, now,” I said and Blossom gave it to Buddy slowly holding up his tiny head as she poured the vial in his mouth. His breathing which had been erratic till now gradually settled and he started breathing normally and some colour returned to his pale body. Blossom wept in relief and she jumped and hugged me and said,” Never…never in my life am going to forget that what you did today, Synthia. Never. You shall always have an ally with the Black Claws pack and that is for an eternity. That I promise to you.”
I smiled at her and said,” You need to take care of yourself Blossom. You are bleeding and you are wounded.”
“I am a Black Claw and you need to know this, Sin that whatever might happen now, we are survivors. I shall be fine. Just promise me that you are not going to let that bitch win. I don’t know how she did it but trust me when I say this, Sin, the power that she has or the force with which she hit me. It was nothing normal. You need to take care when you are fighting her,” she said and I looked at her and smiled.
“Don’t worry about that, Blossom. It was because she has made a deal with a demon and is drawing on its power but I am not going to allow her to hurt anyone anymore, any longer,” I replied as I took in a deep breath. I did not have a lot of time left to get ready.
When it comes to the fight there's no honour, no code. All that matters is the win and we take nothing for granted. The boys have the exits covered, there's nowhere to run. I'll offer her peace first, a chance to surrender on my terms, something she will of course refuse. And then the dance of death will begin.
We both stood face to face in the ring. I was wearing red in order to honour the colour of my pack and she was wearing purple. Luke was standing beside me snarling at the snake which was moving around in coils around her feet. Salazar might look smaller than the usual pythons but I knew that the power that he held in his strike could be only matched by Luke.
“You know that you still have time to withdraw from this match, don’t you?” prompted Rubina with a sick smile and I smiled back at her.
“You think that I am scared of that slithering worm that is crawling beneath your feet and biting the dust and of you? Come on, Rubina…how can you forget so soon the way that I had kicked your ass in the castle of the vampire lord?” I asked and she snarled at me. I was doing a great job in riling her up because the angrier she got the more mistakes she would be inclined to make. And the more mistakes that she would make it would make her sloppier. And that was what I wanted.
Her eyes became pools of black as a feral gleam shone in them. How she was doing it and what kind of demon it was I had no idea and how was I going to battle it I did not know but I knew that Serafina had given me a secret weapon and all I needed to do now was make Rubina scared of that.
“And you also forget that you might be a demon’s whore and get some of his powers or her powers but ultimately I am the one who has the secret weapon in this arena. While you will be fighting with brute force and that morning star,” I jeered at her.
She ran at me and I easily swerved in another direction with a fluid motion. Her movements were really fast and she immediately came back with full force swinging the star in my direction but I kicked her at the open spot of her stomach making her reel back. I could feel Serafina’s magic flowing in my veins and I smiled at her.
I did a sommersault and then swiped away the hand of Rubina in which she was holding the morning star. She wanted to hit me in the head with that thing while I could feel that Salazar was wrapping its coils around me because his mistress was getting her ass handed to her in a plate. But Luke immediately sank his teeth in the coils of the snake loosening it while I had twisted Rubina’s arms and gotten hold of the weapon.
I smacked her in the nose while she kneed me on the side of my body. The hit was damn hard and I was immediately winded but I could feel that the magic was healing me. I looked at her with such fury in my eyes that she could not even fathom what to think of it. I swerved the morning star in my hand and she was left with nothing. And I hit her knees with the long chain.
She was on her knees with a loud groan and I was on her with such a force that she screamed hard. It was music to my ears. I was on her chest and pinned her down with my knee and kept hitting her and hit her hard. Everything that she had done to me came back flooding with tremendous intensity and my wolf was screaming for blood. I was going to kill her today so that she would never be able to hurt anyone again…I was choking her when my hands suddenly froze.
I looked up and saw that Raksha was standing beside the Council and doing magic to stop mee.
The gong rang and I was declared winner.
“This battle was supposed to be until death,’ I spat at the direction of the Council.
“You have clearly shown that you have the heart and the quality of becoming an Alpha Queen, Princess Synthia. We already have lost more than enough royal blood this week and we are not going to do this in a match for the crown. You are the undisputed winner of this match,” announce Torah and I stood up. Serafina and Drima were squealing and shrieking so loud along with all my pack members that the noise was deafening.
I had won.
I had finally done it.
The Red Hearts Pack was going to be the royal family once again!!!
