Chapter 64

Drima came and said,” What are you doing here? You need to talk to her now…”
“She is extremely tired and she is wearing herself out and I want to know that what the fuck does she mean by I have darkness in my veins?” I asked in a voice as low as possible. I was scared and that did not happen every single day with me. Luke and credence had already entered the room and Drima sniffed the air around me and said,” You did not mate with them yet.”
I rolled my eyes at her and said,” there is a girl dying here and you can think about my mating now?”
She said,” You are now a Queen, Sin. You have to act like one. If you keep on acting like a petulant child then no one is going to ever take you seriously. There is a reason why you were given the chance of mating with both of them now. I am sure that you know that but again you took the decision of staying alone. But leave it. You need to communicate with the fairy girl.”
I nodded at her and I knew that she was speaking the right thing and I strode forward again and sat beside the fairy and said,” What is your name?”
“Dahlia,” she replied with a smile. Her voice was strained an I knew that it was apparently taxing her to talk so I said,” I know that this is not the time to make you converse with me but Dahlia, I am so extremely sorry that I am having to do this. You are so young and have so much life inside of you. I am sorry that the light was taken away from you forcibly.”
“I am three centuries old, my Queen,” dahlia replied with a smile and I gasped and she smiled a bit wider and said,” We have been waiting for a long time to find out the day that the Queen would become the Queen. There had been a prophecy in our realm about you.”
“Really? What is it about me?” I asked as I looked at her with interest and she said,” We were never told except for what I already said. This actually comes from a curse. A curse that was given by someone else from another realm long back. And our King and Queen never thought that they would take it seriously but when the Prince was born two centuries ago there was this prophecy and now it seems like that the entire realm is going to be doomed.”
“Wow! That is a killer background story. So what is the name of your Prince and how am I supposed to meet with him? I mean, why were you here? Why did the Prince not venture into our realm, would it not have been easier?” I asked. From my end it seemed like a legitimate question and she said,” The life of the Prince is too precious, my Queen. He needs to be protected at all cost. The darkness had overtaken everything in our realm. There are only some places and pockets where they have not yet dared to venture. Like the winter realm. Me…even if I sacrifice my life for my realm it shall be considered a matter of great honour to my own family but we can never let any harm come to the Prince.”
I looked at her and did not even realize that tears were rolling down my cheeks slowly and she said,” Do not cry, my Queen. When I thought that I would come here and I knew that I had to, I always thought that I would meet someone who would be haughty and would not even look in my direction but it seems like I was mistaken. You are the most enigmatic and soft hearted Queen I have had encountered.”
“I cannot help but think that I am worthless because I could not save your life,” I replied as I sniffled and she said,” I am Fae Guard. My life is worth only when I am able to talk to the right person and do my duty as I said. I don’t have a lot of time my Queen…I must leave this realm now….When I die, I shall leave behind a seed. I don’t know ever if I would be able to go back to the Fae realm or not but if you can bring back peace and usher away the darkness which has taken control then please return me in any state to my family.”
“You have my word, Dahlia. I don’t know how much I am going to be able to do this but this I promise that I shall help you back to your land and make sure that your family receives you. Until then you shall be with me in the Royal Garden where you shall be taken care of every single day. And I shall talk to you every day. You will be able to hear me wherever you are.”
“Yes my Queen. I wish that the erstwhile Fae Queen had been as thoughtful and caring like you, then we would not have to see this day,” said Dahlia with a sigh and I looked at her with my brows pursed.
“Why? What did she do?” I asked.
“I would not know. But we know of this that she is not a Fae, and still she is a Fae Queen. She was a Goddess who was trapped by our King and then married. She brought the curse of the Gods on us all and now we are being taken up by the Darkness in such a way that we have no escape,” said Dahlia and now her breaths were getting reduced to gasps and I said,” Whatever it is Dahlia, I shall never let your death go in vain. I shall make sure that you are remembered in all lands for your sacrifice. And as for the darkness, well, fighting darkness is kinda my thing.”
“It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance, my Queen,” said Dahlia as she smiled brightly and there was a bright burst of light suddenly and her body was gone. And in the place there lay a small seed on the pillow.
I could not hold back myself any longer. I burst down into tears and started sobbing as if I had lost my own. Even when my mother had passed away I don’t think that I had wept in this way. I felt a cold hand pressed to my back and it was Credence and I knew that. I could feel him trying to help my pain…but it was like somehow my heart had burst.
Willie and Winnie had come inside the room and I had not even heard them coming in. I heard Serafina saying,” Princesses, please. This is not a place that both of you should be here. There is something else which is going on. Why are you not in beds?”
“This is exactly the place where we should be. Our sister needs to be ready. She is not yet ready to accept herself then how is she supposed to fight something which is stronger and worse and evil?” asked both of them together and I could believe my ears and I turned at them.
“Why did you not tell me that your sisters are seers?” asked Credence and I glared at him and he immediately looked contrite.
“Sweethearts, what is it?” asked Luke as he bent down on one knee and they came forward.
“One girl, four souls, scattered all over the different realms…to bring back together what had been desiccated long back…fear not for she has darkness in her veins and her mates by her side to fight everything that comes her way,” said both of them together in the same sing song tone and then both of them fell down unconscious in Luke’s arms.
“Their powers are growing at an unprecedented rate. I never thought that I would be alive to see Seers growing before my own eyes and that too in the wolf kingdom,” said Serafina. And Credence said,” She is right. That is a witch power. That is a power which can be born in generations after one Seer is dead. And this is the first time that it has been found in the wolf kingdom. The protective details of the children need to be increased as soon as possible.”
I said,” I was expecting things to be murky but this is the height of everything. Right now we need to make sure that Dahlia is safe and so are the kids. Doc, since you are here, please take a look at the Princesses. Drima and Serafina do not leave their side. I shall be back once I am done burying her.”
I picked up the seed gently in my palms and then looked at Luke and Credence who followed me out of the room without a word.
