Chapter 57

It is, in some ways, almost absurd how one thing can change your entire day. Even your entire life.
And this was the day that my life was going to change. Today was the day that my coronation as the new Queen of Amorentia was going to take place and I was fully going to make sure that I became a better ruler than the last one. Not that the wolves were unhappy but I had a feeling that there was a lot that I was going to come to know now that I was finally the winner of the Summit.
“What are you so worried about?” asked Serafina and I looked up at her and smiled trepidly.
“This is it. This is the day that I have been training since I have been born and now I am going to be the Queen….I am nervous,” I said as Drima came inside with the royal Secretary who had a bevy of men behind him I glanced in their direction and then said,” What is it?”
“It is the crown, your Royal Highness,” said Drima with her eyes downcast. If this was going to be how the woman who raised me from birth was going to speak to me then things were grave and dire indeed.
“Oh…I thought that I shall be presented with it at the ceremony itself,” I said as I sat down on the foot bed near my bed. I had quickly shifted to a bedroom which was adjacent to the Royal bedroom. This room was larger than the rest of the rooms and I felt that now it should be changed to accommodate my needs.
“Oh it will be. We have just brought it here for the fitting. And it needs to be as your liking as well,” said Drima with a smile and I nodded at her. The Royal Secretary came forward and then said,” Your royal Highness, if it pleases you, we have made sure that according your instructions the crown was laid in platinum so that it is light and sturdy rather than in gold and the four gems that you have asked to inlay along with the crowning jewel as the part of the sorting stone. We are very anxious to know if it is to your liking.”
I smiled at him and said,” I am sure that I will be, Royal Secretary. You all are exceptionally talented and careful and you have remembered my wishes with great care.” I could see that everyone was smiling at my words and Drima was looking at me with pride in her eyes.
I opened the lid of the wooden box that was in the hands of the Royal Secretary and watched in awe at the beautiful thing that was looking at me.
It was a platinum crown which looked absolutely light but sturdy and in the middle was a slightly golden but still blindingly bright white stone which was glowing in my presence and I knew that. It was the Ambrose Crystal which was reacting to my power now that I was the Alpha Queen. There was a pale green turquoise and a bright red ruby of the size of a pigeon’s egg on one side while on the other side there was a golden sapphire and a black diamond and I knew that it was perfect. The rest of the crown had been set with soft milky white pearls and made it look regal and beautiful at the same time.
“I have never seen anything more beautiful than this, Royal Secretary,” I said as everyone let out a sigh. They were waiting for my evaluation and now that they had passed they were all satisfied.
“A red gown has been chosen for you because it means that you belong from the Red Hearts pack and also to honour the memory of our red Queen,” said Serafina and I nodded.
“We shall see you at the ceremony, your Royal Highness,” said the Royal Secretary as I nodded and then they all nodded and bowed and left the room. And I sighed. Drima stood before me and said,” How are you feeling, Sin? This is the day?”
“Yes, Drima. This is the day and I know that I should be happy and satisfied because this is what we have been waiting for all this time and I am happy…trust me I am happy…but I never knew that all of this would become so real in such a short period of time and after that there is this thing with the prophetic vision that the Ambrose Crystal showed me. I mean, two of them I know. And one of them Serafina says as the Fae Prince with Golden wings and then I have seen the other one as well in my dreams. Four mates? Are you freaking kidding me? I am just twenty-one…I never thought that I would have to deal with all this drama…and you know how it is with werewolves and vampires….” I started rambling and I kept on speaking when Luke came in the room and I suddenly went quiet.
“You are thinking too much at a time, baby. You don’t need to worry about everything at the same time rather you need to focus on what is going to happen right now at the moment. And then we will take it as we go along,” said Drima and I sighed at her words. I looked at Luke and he said,” The mere thought of having to share you with other men makes my skin crawl but I also know that you are destined for great things, Sin and I am never going to stand in your way of getting to them. And today is only the first day of taking the step.”
“Will I be a good Queen?” I asked softly.
“You are thinking that you might not be a good queen whereas the Red Queen always thought that she was the best that there was and she never going to accept hearing anything that she was not the best. And the very fact that you are doubting yourself makes you a better person than she was and you will be a great Queen. I am the one who has seen you growing up and watched you become this powerful young woman who can think of the fact that you are not enough. And that is true, Synthia. No one will ever be enough and the sooner you believe that the sooner you will start growing,” said Drima and I looked at her in confusion then suddenly the meaning of her words dawned on me.
No one was ever going to be enough for anything. That is only how we came to grow.
“Let’s see the dress for the day,” said Serafina as she clapped her hands together and I smiled at her enthusiasm. At least someone was considering this as a happy occasion.
“Did you send that mail to the bitch of the restaurant that serves snakes in variety of exotic dishes? I wish I could have painted a far better picture but right now I think that it is going to have to suffice,” I sighed and Serafina snickered and I smiled. The thought of killing that bastard snake was something that made me happy even though I should not be this blood thirsty.
And suddenly the door to my room was knocked again and I said,” Come in please.”
And suddenly two turbulent forces ran in my direction and jumped on me making me topple on the ground. Before I could even fathom who they were I knew that I was home. My sisters were with me and there was nothing that was going to keep me from seizing them when I had such a brush with death.
“I have missed you two….so desperately that you cannot even imagine,” I whispered and they giggled. They were my own sisters and I loved them to death…
“How could we miss your Coronation? This is the most important day in a lady’s life,” said Willie with a straight and serious face and I had to give it my all to keep me from laughing out loud at her somber expression.
“The trials that you are going to face are real but before today they were only fearful dreams and now after you wear the crown you will be the most important person in the kingdom who will be responsible for the lives and the livelihood of so many people henceforth,” said Winnie and this time I sat up straight and looked at the two of them. In the midst of all this madness I had completely forgotten that Winnie was showing traces of power which I did not know that wolves could have.
“Great!!! Now that all are here….I have three choices for the coronation ceremony….so…everyone…are you ready for the big reveal?” asked Serafina as she clapped her hands again and Luke leaped on the bed as he nuzzled the twins and they wrapped their arms around them. The foxes, who were the spirit animals of Willie and Winnie had entered the room as well but they were so silent that no one noticed them even. I looked at them and I watched as my sisters were around the one creature that I would that would not hesitate to sacrifice himself to save both of them or even one of them. And I knew that it was Luke who was going to be my wolf mate.
I already had one since childhood and I had never thought about it because I had taken it for granted. I grew up while he grew up along with me. He never took the body of a man unless it was extremely necessary so that no one would look at him and they would only see me but I knew that were knitted together in my soul. Just like I knew that I was knitted with three other men without whom my destiny was never going to complete.
“So this is the first choice,” said Serafina as she brought a model which had worn the dress. It was rose red in colour. The colour was so bright that it immediately caught everyone’s attention. Even I who was not at all keen on the dresses took notice.
It was made of chiffon and there were roses stitched on the whole body of the dress. It came up to only mid thigh in the front which billowed and made it look like a fairy frock while there was a train and a billowing gown in the back which was darker in colour and made of tulle and it had so many layers that it would float behind me and the front of my legs would show. I looked at Serafina and said,” That is something that Serena would wear. Am I going to show my legs at the coronation?”
“If you did then I am sure that it would be considered as the new trend but if you don’t then there are two more choices which I have for you. This one was a little more teenage in my taste as well but I think you will like the next one. That is something taken from the books of the Red Queen,” said Serafina as I moved and sat up. I had no idea that she used to sketch as well, it seems like that the Red Queen had life and attributes that none of us had cme to know.
“This next piece is perfect for a warrior Queen but not age appropriate for you. Still, the tailors insisted on showing you this one,” said Serafina as she brought out the next piece and it was a gorgeous piece in dark crimson. It was perfect for a Queen. It was stitched in black and red roses and was a full length billowing gown which would make anyone look regal but Serafina was right. This was not for me. Yet I looked at the piece since it had a gorgeous corsage of roses and I loved it. But maybe a few years later, if I was Queen till then.
“This is the third piece and my favourite and I think it is perfect for Sin. Because it embodies Sin herself and I think that this represents a lot of what she wants to present herself as, The Queen who has proved herself and is still connected with the mass,” said Serafina as she unfurled the last dress.
Everyone gasped in awe looking at the dress. And I just knew that it was perfect. This was the one I was going to wear. It was a wine red gown with a dripping neckline which was sexy but not slutty and a mermaid gown attached to it. The sleeves were short and the entire gown was made of stitched roses just like the first one. Serafina lifted the gown from the knee and said,” This part can be detached as well when you will be dancing in the evening’s festivities. It will serve as a cocktail dress then and I have made a specific wreath of roses for the time that you will be entering the throne room. Then I will be replaced with the original crown which has been made for you. What do you say?”
“You know it, Sera. You know…this is the one…this is the one which screams me…what do you say, girls?” I asked and they said that it was something that they also wanted and I looked at Serafina for help and she said,” Of course, ladies…you are the royal princesses now. That cannot be allowed that you would not wear the colours of your Pack today and something which will make you look like the Princesses that you are. I have had dresses commissioned just for the both of you..”
“YYaaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!!” they both squealed in happiness and Fiona came in and then took them away while I said,” Great….now that the girls are getting ready…I think it is time for me to get dressed as well.”
