“Power is about balance. Power is not about taking everything and dominating anyone. Power is about giving all that you have an only then you shall be considered worthy of taking the power to help and heal your people,” said the voice.
There was something warm about the voice which made me feel as if someone was pouring warm honey on my pain and trying to give me peace and healing me inside out. It was making me comfortable and then suddenly it felt like someone yanked my hands off. And the crown felt separate in my palms.
I opened my eyes and I could still feel the creases on my face that had happened when I was crying out. The Royal Secretary announced with great relief,” The Queen has done it. She is successful in taking the crown and making it hers.”
And the roar that happened in the room was deafening. And I was completely drained of every single thread of energy that I had in my body.
“Now the Queen will place the crown o her head and take the oath to protect and serve the subjects of Amorentia as long as she is alive,” said the Royal Secretary as I placed the crown on the top of my head and I felt that I was complete. I was finally at peace and there was nothing that could make me leave this.
“All hail, Queen Synthia, the new Alpha Queen of Amorentia,” roared Serafina with a huge smile on her face as everyone that was there roared their cheer and I felt like a Queen for the first time in my life.
I held up my hand and the scepter was placed on my palm. The weight of the gold scepter felt good in my hands. The scepter was something which was handed over to the Queen only on the first day of her reign, the day of her crowning so that she could attach it with herself. I did not know how it was possible for Drima said that it was different for every single Queen and everyone was instinctively given that knowledge.
I held the scepter in my hands and felt that it was turning warmer and then I knew that I had to just kiss the scepter with my lips and on touching it will become mine. Uniquely attuned to me and my powers.
And the best part was that the scepter changed colour and suddenly turned brilliant white as if made of crystal and the entire scepter changed as if it was a huge block of light. I smiled at the crystal.
“Behold….the new Alpha Queen has attuned herself with the Crystal of Amorentia. The first of her name and the first of her line to be able to do so,” shouted the Royal Secretary and the scream again from the crowd of the people standing before me was deafening. I knew, that now was the time. I did not need to speak but I had to say a few words to them.
I closed my eyes as I lay down the scepter and felt the power of the Alpha flow through my veins. This was the power that was going to help me find out what was wrong with Amorentia and where I needed to focus but right now I needed to connect with all the people of my Kingdom.
“The great subjects of the Kingdom of Amorentia. This is your new Alpha Queen, Queen Sin, you may call me. A bit strange and eccentric but I shall be always closer to the all of you if you consider me your friend and companion rather than your Queen. From today onwards, the doors of my court shall always be open to you and every single subject whom I have not seen or not known. You are all welcome to come to me to tell me anything that you find is wrong or even any threat you find is looming on us. I am going to be your Protector and your Guardian and I shall stand Sentinel to each and every danger which might threaten you. And your well being and safety and happiness and peace is the first and foremost concern of your Queen and I shall always take care of that,” I spoke out loud in my mind without speaking any of the words but everyone heard me.
Except maybe the vampires in the court for they were my allies and not my subjects.
And again I heard cheering all over…in my mind and I heard in the front. I smiled at them and probably was dazzling them with my smile.
“As the new Alpha Queen, I proclaim Serafina to be my second in command and the Royal Magick and Sorceress of the Court. She is a pure blooded witch raised by the wolves and her loyalty lies extensively and only with me and the wolves of Amorentia,” I said as I looked at Serafina.
She had tears in her eyes and I knew that this was what she had dreamt of since she was a child. She had said yes and I knew that there was no one I would have beside me rather than her.
“It will be my honour, your Royal Highness,” she said as she came forward to me and then bowed down before me on one knee. I picked up the scepter once again and touched it on her forehead and it burned so brightly that every single person in that room had to close their eyes except me.
“You are going to make the finest witch in the kingdom of Amorentia, Serafina. I know that. Make your ancestors proud and write your own history,” I said and she raised her head and I found that there was a unique mark on her forehead. Probably not for anyone else but only I could see it. And she knew it as well but she only nodded and smiled. Serafina knew it from before that something of this sort would happen.
When she rose up I placed my hand on Luke as well and then I said,” As the Queen of Wolves it is customary for me to choose a mate or a concubine so that there might be someone to balance my power which is in a sense right. Even though I might not be power crazy or arrogant, I surely come with my fair share of flaws. So I shall choose my wolf mate here itself now. It might come as a shock to many of you but Luke will be my mate.”
Everyone was silent and even Luke was shocked at my announcement when I sent him the mental image,” Shift now…or I shall make your life unbearable when you are with me.”
And Luke knew that I could easily do that. I could feel Credence looking at me with such hatred and shock that it was impossible to even look at him. The vitriol that was pouring out of him was unprecedented and I did not want to trigger any more reaction from him than it was necessary.
And Luke started shifting.
No one even knew that it was possible for a spirit animal to shift into human form but this needed to be shown in front of the people because they would not believe it otherwise. And there he was standing in all his naked glory holding the red piece of armour over his junk.
“Can the animal speak?” asked one of the members of the Council with disdain in his voice.
“First in all, Councilman Jeffrey, He is not anymore an animal than you are. And yes he can speak, a lot better than you if you are scared of that. And there are a great many things that Luke can perform but this is not a circus and neither is this any place of test. He being my mate is my choice and my decision,” I said out loud.
Then I waited and paused for a moment and spoke up again,” I am going to choose my mate as someone who will not hesitate to be with me in war, like I shall not hesitate for him. Someone I can trust and someone I can believe in. My heart and soul will be of my people and those I protect and my mate will protect me. Luke has been protecting me from every single kind of danger since he has been with me.. And there is no one else that I would trust more to be my mate.”
Again the scream that arose from the people made me believe that I had made the right choice. There cannot be anything better than the fact that the person who knew your best and worst secrets, the greatest friend that you have was going to become your life partner.
Luke said,” My Alpha Queen, from today you shall be the Queen of my heart and my soul. I pledge my life in your service.”
