Chapter 62

“Then why did you proclaim in front of everyone that Luke is your mate? You did not even look at me….don’t you know how I hunger for you?” asked Credence as I moaned even more as I felt the touch of his fangs at my neck and then suddenly I was sitting on the chair and he was before me.
He settled me down with such speed that I could not even think that. Goddess had granted me, the Alpha Queen with a lot of powers but none of them could match the speed and accuracy of a vampire. Serafina was at the door with another of the maids of the Castle.
I smiled and then gestured towards Credence. He was offered the goblet of blood wine and then an entire bottle was laid in ice on the ornate table in the middle. And there was a glass of Cosmoplitan on the tray which was placed on the table as well and then I sighed and said,” Can I get some chocolate and dessert as well Serafina….I am feeling drained like anything after that.”
“Of course, my Queen. Anything you desire,” said Serafina as she gave me a serious smile and nod and I recalled that I had to speak to Credence about Serafina’s mother as well. Somehow however I knew that today I was not going to get the chance of doing that. Serafina and the maid both left the room and I saw that Luke was standing by the door.
“What is it that you are planning to do now that you have been crowned the Queen?” asked Credence as he sipped from the goblet and sighed.
“Is the wine good? I hope that there is nothing amiss about us serving you, Lord Credence. After all we need to talk about our mutual alliance again,” I said and looked at him teasingly. And he sighed looking at me and said,” Do you think that it is safe to play with fire little one?”
“When is something safe going to be fun? There is no fun in playing with safe and secure things like there is fun in playing with fire and knives,” I said and his eyes were burning red. This time again there was a knock on the door and Serafina brought a huge platter of all kinds of desserts and ice cream and chocolate mousse and ganache and I looked at her and said,” I feel like I have died and gone to heaven.”
“Say good things. Always,” said Serafina and then she curtsied and left the room. The moment she left I took the plate of the pastry and started taking bites and then I moaned at the feeling that the chocolate and cream melted in my mouth.
“It seems like the Queen likes chocolate more than anything in the world,” said Credence as he smiled at me longingly.
“There is nothing better than chocolate but that does not mean that you know my kryptonite means you are going to use it against me, Credence. You have got to give a girl something after all…I don’t know why but there is something playing at the back of my mind saying that I should eat as much as possible now for there is something going to happen soon,” I said and he looked at me quizzically.
“I don’t think that anyone in this kingdom is going to dare ask the Queen not to have food,” he said and I nodded my head saying,” You don’t understand. This is different…something is going to happen soon Credence. I know this but you have to tell me what are the terms of the contract which we are going to sign in order to maintain peace between our people. We need to sign the Treaty of Alliance today itself so that we would not have to broker peace later on.”
“Why don’t you tell me what you have in mind? Because your Red Queen showed that she wanted peace but I did not feel anything remotely positive from her entirety in all those years. But then again I did not know her this intimately as well,” said Credence the hunger in eyes made me feel beautiful. It was different kind of feeling, the feeling of being wanted.
“You are not my only mate, Credence. There will be other men in my life,” I said because I thought I needed to clear the air between the both of us. Luke could see everything I saw but with Credence things were different.
“What do you mean by that, Little One?” he asked as the ice in his voice made me feel chillier than before and I closed my eyes and said,” There are a lot of things that I have to endure, Credence and you don’t even know the half of it. So don’t judge me even before knowing anything. I know that you consider me as someone who might not be able to commit but you have never stepped in my shoes and put yourself in my position either.”
“Then tell me. I am willing to know. I want to know what it is to be like you, My Alpha Queen,” said Credence and this time he was on his knees before me and I could not stop the tears from my eyes coming down, rolling down my cheeks.
“I am just twenty-one years old and the responsibility of a kingdom is on me. There are people who wanted a puppet on the throne and I am already fighting to consolidate my position. I am getting cryptic messages from a woman and I have not even seen her. There are going to be four men in my life and I suspect that I am supposed to mate with all of them and amongst those four I have not even yet met the next two. And then again I am already the Bloody Red Queen. And every now and then, I feel like someone will shout. Off with his head!!” I said as I sobbed and Credence was looking at me with a blank expression and then he started laughing out loud and Luke came inside at the sound and found me sobbing while Credence was laughing.
“What is exactly going on, Sin?” asked Luke as he came towards me. I sniffled and looked at him and Credence said,” I don’t know what she is talking about but I do understand this that she is under lot of pressure and yet she is holding herself up somehow.”
“I heard what she said, Lord Credence and she is not lying. She is telling the truth, well except the last sentence…that was simply hilarious. So I suggest that you take her words seriously as well,” said Luke and I looked at him with gratitude. Credence stood up and said,” What do you mean that she is telling the truth?”
“I think you heard me, Lord Credence. Whatever she said is true,” said Luke somberly and Credence was gasping for words,” Four mates? What kind of joke is this? Do you know who they are?”
“Why do you think that there are four stones in her crown?” asked Luke in a grave voice and Credence looked at my crown carefully.” I don’t know. I thought it was ground and tether her power.”
“Yes. To tether her power but to whom?” I asked and they both looked at me.
“Four mates? Who are the ones who you will mate except Luke? I know this because you announced it before everyone,” said Credence as his voice was again cold.
“The other one is you, Lord Credence,” said Luke as he looked at Luke and then looked at me and said,” Is this true?”
“I already told you, you are already mated to me…but you did not listen to me. Just because I did not announce it infront of the people does not mean that it is not true. I have just been crowned today and in that moment I had to take so many decisions…what do you think? It is easy for me?” I told him and Credence felt sorry for what he had said and how he had behaved.
“I did not, My Queen. How was I going to know that this is all that you have been enduring all alone?” he asked as he looked at me with pain in his eyes.
Before I could tell anything at all I looked at both of them and suddenly there was a huge crash outside the door and there was screaming and clamouring and immediately I was out of the door and I looked that in the middle of the hall there was a portal open and a beautiful woman came out of the portal with wings fluttering behind her and she was injured in all the different places and there was a knife sticking out of her side.
“Someone help her,” I screamed out loud as I went towards her as the woman fell down and another arrow pierced her shoulder.
“Queen…..please my Queen…..help me…help us…..our kingdom is under attack…” and saying this the woman fell unconscious in my arms.
