Chapter 32 What Are You Doing?

"Are you trying to suffocate yourself?"

The blanket was lifted, revealing Vivian's blushing face. Charles didn't know why, but he was so easily attracted to her. The only question in his mind was: to kiss or not to kiss?

However, when he realized that he had this thought, he immediately put it into action.

Vivian widened her eyes. Her lips were covered by him again. She didn't understand why she kept falling into the hands of the same person. How did she manage to do that?

Undeniably, she smelled nice.

Undeniably, he was a good kisser.

Wait, his hand was reaching under her t-shirt! Wait, what was his hand doing? Wait, where was he kissing?

"Mm!" Vivian heard the seductive sound that she made and was completely shocked. She forcefully pushed Charles, who was about to lean on her. Caught off guard, she fell to the ground and vigilantly looked at him. "What are you doing?"

"What do you think?"

"Pervert! Get out!"

Only then did Charles realize that he seemed to have scared her. He stood up from the sofa, walked over to help her straighten her t-shirt, and tucked her in. "Go back to sleep." After saying that, he left.

Now, Vivian felt strange.

The next morning, when Charles came out of the bedroom, he was shocked by Vivian's sleeping position on the sofa.

He walked over and covered her with the blanket again. Vivian was half asleep and started rolling over, pressing herself against Charles. She rubbed her eyes and woke up, and when their eyes met, Vivian screamed and sat up.

"You're so exposed," Charles kindly reminded her.

She glanced down and saw her exposed body! She immediately jumped up and noticed red stains on the sofa. Vivian's face turned red in that moment. She quickly wrapped herself in the blanket and sat back on the sofa.

They looked at each other, trapped in an endless awkwardness.

"I will clean it for you, but what do we do now? Do you have any sanitary pads?"

"Do you think I would have them?"

"Then what should we do?" Vivian covered her face and cried in pain.

Charles had already changed his clothes and was ready to go out when she opened her eyes.

"Charles! Are you just going to ignore me like this?" The expression on Vivian's face was pitiful.

"Of course, I won't ignore you," he said and then left the house.

Charles felt that this was the most unforgettable shopping experience of his life. He had found a mall far away from home. Wearing a mask and sunglasses, he picked a bunch of things. To disguise his intentions, he also picked up a lot of snacks before heading toward the cashier.

Vivian waited for a long time, but she didn't see him coming back. She thought she had been abandoned and was about to give up, but then she heard the sound of the door opening. He walked in, and she happily looked at him from the sofa, her eyes forming crescents. "Charles, you're so kind!"

He had never known before that his name could sound so pleasant when someone called it. However, the awkwardness in the mall couldn't be resolved in just a few words. He put down everything on the table and coldly walked into the bedroom.

Vivian changed her clothes and found that the whole set fit her perfectly. It was clear that he had had many girlfriends before. When she came out of the bathroom, she saw Charles sitting oddly in the living room. "Thank you, Charles! I'm leaving. Bye!"

Vivian only realized that Charles had followed her out after she left the house. "Huh? Are you going to the company?"

"It's the weekend. I'm sending you back."

Vivian smiled. Seriously, he was so considerate. It made her heart flutter.

On the way, Vivian tried to strike up a conversation with him, as she still needed to borrow his phone later. "Umm, are you not busy lately?"

"Not too busy."

"Oh, are you filming a new movie?"

"Yes."

"Oh, who are you starring with?"

"Lena."

"Wow, she's beautiful. Are there any kissing scenes? She's really pretty! Can you get me an autograph next time?"

"You better shut up." Charles was not polite at all.

Vivian immediately closed her mouth.

After getting off the car, she felt a chill and her stomach started to ache. She immediately called the locksmith company using Charles's phone and then squatted by the door, not wanting to get up.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable. I'll be fine if I squat for a bit."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Charles stood beside her. Vivian leaned against him and the wall, waiting for the locksmith to come. "Do you need to do anything? If not, you can go. I can handle it on my own."

He didn't reply. He just stayed with her. In the end, he even paid for the locksmith. Vivian felt so embarrassed.

After entering the house, she turned off all the lights and found her phone. She looked at the time, and it was almost nine o'clock. She immediately called Evelyn. Charles felt helpless once again after being ignored by her.

Evelyn unconsciously answered the call after a good night's sleep. "Hello?"

"Evelyn? Are you still not up yet? I didn't expect William to be so capable."

These nonsense words instantly woke Evelyn up. She opened her eyes and realized that she was actually lying in William's embrace.

"I'll call you later!" She quickly hung up the phone and checked her clothes. Everything seemed normal.

She shook William awake.

"William, what's going on?"

"Uh?" William rubbed his sleepy eyes.

Evelyn got up, changed her clothes, and freshened up. When she came back, William was sitting on the bed. "Did you forget?"

"I remember now."

"That's good. Don't misunderstand me. I'll never force you."

With a resolute expression, Evelyn had a wry smile on her face. "If you don't want to have breakfast, then I'm leaving."

"Of course, let's go." After tidying up, the two of them slowly made their way downstairs.

The sandwich shop downstairs has been around since Evelyn was a little girl. Although it now has a new owner, the taste hasn't changed. As always, it was delicious. Watching William who seemed accustomed to American cuisine, Evelyn curiously asked him, "How long did you stay in America?"

"I was in the US until I turned eighteen."

The shop owner noticed William and said, "You are the first boy Evelyn brought home. We've watched her grow up. You're a really good kid, take good care of her." After saying these words, she smiled and busied herself with other things.

"See how good you are! Everyone tells me the same thing." William laughed.

Evelyn felt the warmth of the winter sunshine. She used to be afraid to come back, but this time she gathered her courage and returned. She always felt the warmth here to be so heartfelt and real.

"It seems like I've hit the jackpot." William looked at Evelyn, who was bathed in the sunlight, and felt a warm feeling in his heart.

After finishing breakfast and returning home, they spent the whole day idly wandering around. William had demanded that Evelyn take him to every corner of the town.

"I really like this place. It has mountains, water, and a sense of harmony," William said.

"Well, then stay here," Evelyn suggested.

"I haven't finished yet, the crucial part is that I have you," William hastily added.

Evelyn found herself helpless with his words. But then she thought that someone who lacks a sense of security needs someone who likes expressing themselves like this. No need for excessive guessing. He would wear all his emotions on his sleeve.

All she had to do was listen.

Soon, Vivian returned with her luggage.

Evelyn and William could clearly feel that the room across from them instantly became lively. Mrs. Garcia was chasing Vivian and shouting for her to stop, while Vivian bounced around, begging Mrs. Garcia for mercy. It was quite a lively scene.

Everyone was happy with the liveliness, except for William.

Originally, he could cuddle with his goddess every night, but now that Vivian was back, she would definitely sleep with Evelyn, leaving William at a loss.

Finally, one morning, William burst out, "Vivian, don't you have a bed at home?"

Vivian, always ready with a comeback, shamelessly replied, "Yeah, how did you know?"

"Well then, let's go to the mall this morning."

"What's wrong? What kind of attitude is this?"

William ignored her completely.

Vivian snorted, "Don't regret it."

So for the rest of the day, William couldn't get near Evelyn. Vivian thought that William had backed down, and while she was still pleased with herself, the phone rang.

It was Charles! Reluctantly, she answered it.

"I heard you're causing trouble at home?"

"What's it to you?!"

"Fine, very well. The bill for the cufflinks you lost, the sofa you stained, the money for the clothes, the locksmith fee, the bills, and the repayment account will be sent to your email. Make sure you check it!"

Vivian surrendered, "Wait!"

"What's the matter?"

"I'm sorry, I won't cause any more trouble. Is that okay?" She didn't know about the rest, but those clothes alone cost tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention the sofa. If she had to repay for everything, she might as well be killed.

"Good girl, if only you had listened earlier."

Vivian clenched her fist, swearing to get revenge. "Alright. Bye."

To her astonishment, William and Charles were actually in contact!

On Christmas night, they had dinner at Vivian's house.

At the dinner table, Mrs. Garcia made profound remarks about Vivian's marriage, assuming that Evelyn and William were about to get married, and gave Vivian a more in-depth ideological education.

This was the first time William had seen Vivian act so obediently, and under Mrs. Garcia's guidance, he didn't dare to speak casually.

But Evelyn enjoyed the lively and warm atmosphere created by Mrs. Garcia's preaching on Christmas Eve.

After dinner, Vivian obediently went to the kitchen and washed all the dishes before getting permission from Mrs. Garcia. Then, she dragged William and Evelyn out of the house, inevitably being ridiculed by William.

"Alright, stop arguing with Vivian." Evelyn stopped William.

"Evelyn, you're the best!" Vivian happily hugged Evelyn.

"Well, stay away from me a bit!" Evelyn joked.

Vivian, who had been rejected multiple times, felt frustrated. She tried her best to contain herself and spoke in a soft tone, "Every year around Christmas, there are special gifts for couples in nearby shopping malls. You should go check them out."

Without a word, William pulled Evelyn and left. Vivian was left alone, standing in the same spot, feeling empty for some reason.
