Chapter 123
Reece
When getting that text from Uncle Rian did I know better than to piss him off. Rian one of the few men that you never wanted to challenge. My father being one of them to but that was a long time ago.
For being only 10, Dylan, Caleb and I each decided to challenge our father. Needless to say, it didn’t end well for either of us. Our father not only an ex-Irish Enforcer but one who was strong enough to whoop our butts in the process.
A lesson we hadn’t forgotten, until now.
Our anger and rage along with our foul moods each getting the better of us. Mine more so than ever. Ella’s disappearance over these last 2 weeks enough to drive us wild. Especially with her being at 27 weeks pregnant.
My hands soon clenching into fists as I stood there thinking back to all the photo’s we had received along with the stray random video. Each one like a slap to the face. A tease. A taunt. Nicholas along with James clearly enjoying themselves a little too much.
A reminder that they needed to brought back down a peg or two.
Quick to throw on a muscle tee and some basketball shorts do I quickly grab my phone before heading towards my bedroom door. My eyes quick to spot both Dylan and Caleb. Both moving to exit their own rooms as well. Our eyes each moving to greet the other before finally heading for downstairs.
Our feet soon reaching the bottom of the stairs before we each head for the living room. A room that was currently occupied by Alanna, Grant, and Hayden along with Rian, our uncle. Rian quick to notice us and our appearance before moving to speak. His men stationed throughout the house.
“We’ll I’ll be. You three look like total shit.”
My brothers and I each quick to growl as I move to ignore his comment as does Dylan and Caleb. Not needing to be told just how terrible we looked when we already knew that ourselves. Each of us unable to eat, sleep or function without Ella. Our shining star. Our reason for living.
Rian not one to be dismissed so easily moves to address us yet again. “Don’t you three growl at me. I know your father raised you to be better than that. Now stop acting like spoiled babies and get your shit together stat.”
“We aren’t being spoiled babies” replies Caleb, his voice strained as he moves to speak up.
“No? Then prove it. Because we Irish men would have had our woman back ages ago. Especially if she’s pregnant with our child. Not sit here and wallow in self-pity and act like all is lost. Now get it together or so help me, I’ll do way worse then your father would have done.”
“But we’re not wallowing in self-pity.”
“No? Because I beg to differ. Because as of right now all I see are sad little billionaires who have zero clue what their actually doing and it’s quite sad to me actually.”
“But…”
“No more buts. You three are Irish Enforcers by birth. Sons of the once great Alex Knight and my brother. And if my brother now saw how pathetic you each became he’d not only kick your ass’s, but he’d also tell you the same thing I am.”
“But we’re not Irish Enforcers. We have zero clue how to even be one. As we were never taught.”
Now growling himself does Rian move to approach me slowly. His hand quick to swing that I literally miss it as he moves to punch me within the face. The force of the hit enough to send me to my ass as Dylan and Caleb both jump at the sight.
Both shocked by what just happened.
“No. Your right. You’re not Irish Enforcers. Your all pansy ass’s. And truthfully, Ella doesn’t deserve you one bit, nor do you deserve her. Maybe she deserves someone new. Someone who’ll actually fight for her and not sit here crying.”
The thought of Ella finding someone new beginning to fill me with rage. A rage that was enough to get me back upon my feet as I suddenly find myself swinging right back. My fist coming out of nowhere as I move to hit Rian. Rian taking the hit like a true Irish Boss.
Dylan and Caleb both gasping at what I had just done. My mind quick to play catch up as I soon move to realize what I’d just done myself. My fist moving to hit my uncle right back. My eyes quick to gauge the situation. My uncle clearly unphased by the hit as he continued to stand before us. His gaze steady as he continued to wait. His voice firm when he moves to speak up next.
“Better?”
Suddenly unsure by what just happened do I move to nod my head back. Not one to trust my words as Rian moves to pull me into his arms. A gesture that’s confusing but one I fully accept. My arms quick to return.
Dylan and Caleb both watching in silence until Rian moves to hug them next. The embrace meant to be comforting yet full of promise. Rian quick to pull away once hugs were over and done with.
“Now then… if we’re all good here, we have some planning to do.”
“Planning?”
“Yes. My inside source tells me that they’ve found Ella. Along with that punk Nicholas and his cousin, James.”
Now shocked by the sudden news does Dylan move to speak up. “How? Because I’ve exhausted every source I had and still couldn’t find her during the 2 weeks she was missing, nor could I find any traces of Nicholas or James.”
“Because you aren’t thinking like a Knight. Your thinking like a child. A spoiled billionaire child who thinks money can solve every little problem. But let me be the first one to say that it can’t. And until you each learn to embrace your Irish roots you’ll never be able to protect Ella the way she’s meant to be protected.”
His words ringing truer than most for while I’m not one to admit defeat nor am I one to admit when I’m wrong there is one thing I did know and its what Uncle Rian had said. We hadn’t been thinking like a Knight, nor had we been using the resources that we had at our disposal. No. We were being lazy and not truly trying.
A shift in realization soon rising as we move to focus solely on his words. His words a lifeline for us and Ella. Rian quick to notice as he moves to continue with his words.
“Now then. If your each ready to be men then let’s begin. As my sources say that Nicholas is stationed within a remote compound of some kind and that’s where he’s keeping Ella.”
The mention of a remote compound enough to make my blood boil yet again. Of course he’d been hiding in some remote place. It’s why Dylan hadn’t been able to find him. Because the ass hole had gone into hiding and knew how to do it.
My mind now shifting towards Ella and our babies. Determination soon rising within me as we each move to follow our uncle’s command. Rian quick to give us the run down of what he knew and how he planned to act when reaching the compound.
