Chapter 142

Reece

Two days. Two fucking days since the incident at the reception and while I continued to hold up a strong front for both Dylan and Caleb I knew I’d be lying to myself if I wasn’t worried as well. James having taken Ella and ran.

Having been worried about Caleb that day that I didn’t stop to think of what would happen to Ella if she was left unattended. A part of me hoping she would have been safe yet turned out she wasn’t because the minute I left her side was the minute she was taken.

Fuck.

My hand quick to punch a wall as I continued to stand within my room. Waiting. Caleb still resting after being shot and hitting his head along the hard ground that the doctor’s placed him on bed rest for a couple of days. Dylan and I both grateful that nothing else happened to him other than the minor battle wound he received.

Each of us unsure how Ella would have handled it if the outcome was different and Caleb had died that day. Ella a kind and caring soul who couldn’t bring it within herself to hurt others. Yet people like Nicholas would waste zero time in hurting those who were weaker than him.

The sound of someone knocking soon reaching my ears yet I don’t move to acknowledge who it is. Not in the mood to deal with people at the moment until my sweet wife was home. The knocking against the door continuing until finally, I move to snap at who was there.

“WHAT!”

The door soon opening only to reveal Dylan. A sigh rising as I move to focus on him and him alone. Dylan’s gaze on mine as he moves to enter the room slowly.

“Whoa, easy there. It’s only me. No need to bite my head off” admits Dylan as he moves to stand within the room.

“You don’t think I know that asshole?”

“Look. I get it. Your pissed off. So am I. I mean, Caleb’s on bedrest until he’s healed and Ella’s been taken by the psycho. But that doesn’t mean you can just snap at people whenever they need you for something.”

“Says who?”

“Me dipshit. That’s who”

Growling softly do my eyes move to glare. Currently not in the mood to be dealing with on of his many lectures for while Dylan might have been my brother and triplet it still didn’t mean I had to stand there and listen to him as he lectured me into watching my temper.

A small piece of me already over what it was he was going to say. My need to find Ella more important than whatever it was that Dylan could tell me within that second. My feet soon leading me towards that of my desk in which I then move to sit down at before moving to turn it back on.

My need to distract myself with anything other than Dylan rising. Dylan clearly pissed that I was ignoring him as he moves to approach the desk. Dylan quick to slam his hands down before moving to lean over.

“Oh no you don’t. You don’t get to just write me off like one of your clients when I’m just as worried about her as you are. You don’t get to sit here and ignore me while you sit there and sulk. Because in case you’ve forgotten we’re in this together.”

Annoyance soon rising the longer I sat there and listened. My eyes never once leaving his even as we continued to have a starring match.

Neither of us moving.

Neither of us speaking.

Neither of us caring even as we continued to stare at the other. The tension between us almost unbearable until someone else moves to clear their throat. The gesture just loud enough to draw our focus. Our eyes soon spotting the one person who could possibly help. Antosha Makavoich.

“Enough. We don’t have time to play these childish games. My daughter’s life is in danger and here I find my new sons-in-law fighting amongst themselves.”

Antosha clearly pissed as he continued to stand within the door of my room. His eyes locked on each of us until he moved to enter. Dylan and I now on him as we both silently wait for what he had to say to us. Antosha all business when speaking.

“Now then… if you two are done bickering like 6 year olds and fighting amongst yourselves while in the process, I thought that maybe you’d both like to know that I have a lead on Ella.”

My body already standing when hearing those words. My body already heading for where Antosha stood within the room. Dylan close behind me as well.

“Where?”

“How? It’s only been 2 days. How’d you manage to do that?”

“I have my ways. But if you must know I have a spy on the inside, and he’s managed to reach out to me finally. And from what I’m given if we don’t act fast then my daughter and my idiot son will soon be gone for good.”

“Gone?”

“What do you mean gone? In what way?”

“It’s exactly as I mean. As Nicholas plans to leave the country with both her and James and I’m afraid that if he does then you’ll never see her again. As there’s no telling where he’ll try to escape to.”

Silence quick to rise as Dylan and I both move to process exactly what was said. Antosha having just told us that if we didn’t act soon then Ella would forever be gone, and we could very well lose her once and for all. Dylan quick to reply back as I continued to remain silent.

“Then show us. Because it’s high time we ended things once and for all. No more shall Nicholas or James sit idly by and threaten our family.”

Antosha quick to nod as he moves to wave us both along. The three of us moving to leave the room before heading to where Ella was being held captive. The need to kill both James and Nicholas rising for in the end, Nicholas would forever be a threat to our family until he was finally dealt with. Once and for all.

My thoughts soon back on Ella.

Hold on baby, we’re coming for you. Just hold on till we find you.
