Chapter 49

Grant & Hayden

The moment my cell phone started ringing was the moment I instantly turned to look over at Hayden. My eyes arched as I moved to retrieve my phone. Having not even been home for more than 5 minutes and it was already ringing.

“Who is it?” asks Hayden, knowing it wasn’t Reece or his brothers as each of them were there at the house. Each currently concerned when they hadn’t heard from Ella.

Glancing at my phone, I moved to see the one name that I hadn’t expected to see. Ella. Frowning, I moved to answer on the second ring.

“Hello? Ella? Is that you?” I asked, my eyes glancing to those of Hayden. Hayden’s focus now on me as I tried to wait for a response from the young Princess.

“G-Grant… I’m scared. We need you, please.”

Hearing Ella whimper softly I know we needed to act quickly, knowing that if Reece and his brothers were to find out that they would be pissed. Pissed at knowing that Ella was in danger and that she had no one to protect her.

“Where are you two?”

“At a small little coffee shop. Please.. Hurry..”

Shifting my focus back to Hayden, my eyes are quick to see him typing something into his phone. Hayden most likely trying to tap into Ella’s cell phone, hoping to hack into it in order to locate her quicker.

“Don’t worry Ella, Hayden and I will be there shortly to come and get you both, but whatever you do, do not move from that spot. You hear me, don’t move.”

“Okay”

Attempting to ask a few more questions, I tried to keep her talking to me. Hayden still trying to hack into her phone until finally he looks up and over to me.

“Got her” replies Hayden.

Nodding my head, I moved to finish the phone call with Ella before moving to tuck my phone away. The need to get to her and our woman rising as we moved to rush from the house without letting Reece and the others know.

Hang on baby, Hayden and I are coming for you, I think our bodies rushing down the steps of the house, our feet guiding us over to my car as we move to climb in before speeding off into the night knowing that Ella and Kris needed us.

\-1 Hour Later-

Racing down the streets, my hands continue to grip the steering wheel as we do. My car racing past other cars as well as stop lights and stop signs all while trying to reach Ella and Kris. Tension running high between Hayden and me.

“Shit” growls Hayden, his hands still tracking Ella’s exact location for us.

“What?” I growled, my eyes still on the road.

“Reece and his brothers won’t be happy about this once they find out” mutters Hayden, his eyes still on his phone as he continues to give me directions to the small coffee shop. Directions that eventually bring us to our final destination.

“Then we had best hurry up” I say, parking the car in front of the coffee shop just as Hayden and I move to exit the vehicle. Our eyes scanning the area first to make sure everything was okay as I moved to pull out my gun for safety.

Making sure the coast was finally clear, Hayden and I moved to enter the Coffee Shop. Our eyes scanning the area until our eyes finally landed on Ella and Kris. Nudging Hayden, we move to tuck our guns away before slowly moving to approach the girls, careful not to spook them until we’re able to get their attention.

“Ella?

Jumping at hearing her name, Kris and Ella both move to look at the person who had spoken, only to sigh when they finally spotted us.

“GRANT! HAYDEN! YOU CAME!”

Dashing from her seat, Kris is the first to stand before rushing over to Hayden. Wrapping her arms tightly around his waist as she tries to hide herself from the rest of the world, clearly still shaken by whatever happened to her and Ella.

“What happened?” asks Hayden, his fingers gently brushing against her hair.

“We-We” tries Kris, obviously still shaken, her voice shaky.

“Baby?” whispered Hayden, worry etched along his face, the same worry that I felt knowing that both of these girls were in danger.

“We had a girls' day out. We went to the spa and then to a movie. But once the movie ended, a pair of goons had decided to chase us. The same goons who had broken into my house during my parents' death. Then - Then James came” explained Ella, her eyes looking elsewhere.

“James?” I asked, my eyes dancing between Ella, Kris and Hayden, mentally cursing to myself at realizing Ella was uncomfortable without her brothers around. Fuck.

“James was someone I ran into during my day at the mall. The same day Kris abandoned me. I also ran into him at the club that night for my graduation. He- He’s Nicholas’s cousin” answers Ella finally.

Tensing at her explanation, I instantly knew Reece and his brothers would not be happy. Especially once they find out what happened to Ella tonight.

Sighing, I move to approach her slowly, Hayden still soothing Kris. The need to get them both home safe and sound now steadily rising as I move to gently pat her head for reassurance, causing Ella to freeze and tears to rise.

“I’m sorry- I didn’t mean to bring Kris into all my problems” whimpers Ella, her eyes on the verge of tears as I move to hug her softly.

“Shh… It’s not your fault, Principessa… You're safe, I promise” I murmured, knowing it was true. That both Ella and Kris were both safe and sound so long as we were both there packing heat.

“W-Where’s Dylan? Is he okay? He never answered my phone call” murmurs Ella almost softly.

“He’s safe, they're all safe. There each at home. Although there probably flipping out with worry as they couldn’t reach you earlier,” I admit, easily knowing just how panicked they could get, especially when it came down to Ella.

“I’m sorry” whispers Ella.

“Don’t be. It’s not like you could have controlled it” I say to her, my voice firm yet gentle in hoping she understood how true it was.

“Come. Let’s get you two back home before anything else happens, shall we?”

Nodding their heads in agreement, the girls slowly let us guide them out of the small coffee shop. Kris still tucked safely against Hayden while I continued to stand next to Ella. My eyes still scanning the surrounding area even as we carefully approached the awaiting car.

Reece won’t like this one bit once he learns what happened here tonight, they’ll be livid, come my external thoughts, my hands opening the back door of the car, before allowing both of the girls to gently slide in before closing the door behind them. My eyes now on Hayden, who simply nods. Both of us in silent agreement as we move to enter the front of the vehicle before heading for home.
