Chapter 21

Third Person

After dealing with the burial of their parents, Reece, Caleb and Dylan each had one more thing to attend to and that was now the lunch in which those in attendance for the funeral would all gather and enjoy a lunch with one another as they then proceeded to share stories of fond memories between the beloved couple, stories in which Reece, Caleb and Dylan had missed much of for during their time growing up as each of them had refrained from going home in order to become the man they wanted to be for the sake Ella.

Now sitting around a table the three of them continued to listen as people around them talked and laughed about Alex and Kristen Knight, beloved parents of Reece, Caleb, Dylan and Ella. Stories that made them wish they had set aside time for them during their younger years so that they might have stories to share, in fact the only stories they had of their parents were the ones they had as a child, from which they spent hours upon hours with Ella, their little sister as she was their source of happiness and light.

Reflecting back, Reece as well as his brothers couldn’t help but remember times in which their parents were always super busy, sometimes too busy in which they were often left alone to take care of one another as they left to handle important businesses.

“Man, I don’t know how mom and dad managed to always pull off being the face of society like they had for many years” whispers Caleb, not wanting to share with those within the room his eyes scanning the room at those who attended the lunch.

“Agreed, for if it were up to me I would have stepped back just a little” murmurs Dylan, remembering times in which their parents were always at some social gathering because of their social status.

“They didn’t have much of a choice in the matter” replies Reece softly, being the oldest only by a couple of seconds as each of them were a triplet, something that had magically happened during their father’s previous marriage before he had met Ella’s mother Kristen.

“There’s always a choice” snaps Dylan softly, his eyes now looking to that of Reece, “It’s the fact they chose not too is what’s sad, not until Ella started getting older did they even attempt at being home.”

Sighing, Reece knew his brother was right, it wasn’t until the boys were old enough to go off to college that their parents had started stepping back from societies face, their father putting more energy into his businesses as he was a successful CEO and Owner of many high-tier companies, companies in which would now go Dylan and Reece once they had time to go over their will, while their mother Kristen would pass over nothing as Kristen was a beautiful and talented dancer, a talent that had been gifted to Ella as a child for their was never dull moment in which the boys would ever miss a dance recital for Ella.

“Speaking of high societies, how do we plan to handle social events with Ella?” asks Caleb, as it slowly dawns on him that if Ella was to become their woman, then Ella would have to be present to many of their events as Dylan and Reece were both successful CEO’s and he a successful NASCAR driver.

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to that, for now let’s focus on Ella graduating High school and turning 18 first, then we’ll handle how to incorporate social events, remember Ella’s never been apart of this world, something mom and dad made sure to never include her in, but now, it’ll be up to Ella to decide if this is what she wants” answers Reece, not wanting to force his sister into anything she might not want.

“Exactly, let’s leave that for Ella to decide” whispers Dylan just loud enough for his brothers to hear before speaking yet again, “Besides, rumor has it that Ella got into the world renowned school of dance, Juilliard, the same school mom went to as a young adult, which means if Ella wanted to she could finally have a career in dance.”

“And how do you know this?” asks Caleb, not liking the idea of Ella leaving them to pursue a career in dance when Ella would never have to work a day in her life as each of them would always provide for her no matter what.

“Grant, he had overheard Ella talking to Kris that day she had come over to visit, Ella had informed her that she had received the acceptance letter but was on the fence about accepting it because of us” answers Reece, knowing how hard it must be for Ella to decide.

“Wait, you knew too?” questions Caleb, shocked that both his brothers knew except him.

“Yes, Yes we knew and it's because of this that we chose not to mention it to you, because we knew you would take it the wrong way” replies Reece, his eyes now looking to those of Caleb.

“No, it’s because you thought I would be selfish and try to hold our sister back” growls Caleb, upset that his brothers didn’t trust him enough to even share that bit of information with him for he would never hold something like that back from Ella, hell if that was what she wanted to do then he would stand by her no matter what.

“Enough, let's finish this discussion for another time, for now lets get through this lunch and get back home, I promised Ella we would find her when we got home and home is where I want to be, We also have to plan a surprise birthday party for her as well” remarks Reece to his brothers his eyes now watching each of them as he speaks unaware that the man Ella had been so afraid of was silently listening to them as they spoke having sat as close as he could just for that purpose.

Unknown

Hmmm, it would appear that each of the boys are secretly fighting among themselves about what’s best for their little sister, muses a figure as he continued to sit and listen to the trio as they carefully talked amongst themselves unaware they had listening ears going on around them.

Lucky for them I eventually plan to put forth my own set of plans, robbing them of everything they hold dear to them, including that of their sister. Smirking silently to himself the figure continued to listen until deciding he had heard enough, his mind now returning back to his own plans for while they may not have figured it out, Ella on the other hand had.

Having sensed his presence and his gaze on her during the whole entire funeral not only amused him but also sent a thrill through his entire body at knowing she knew she was being watched for this was not the first time he had seen the girl, no, it was also during one of her father’s social events, an event he no choice but to bring her too.

Standing off to the side of the room, I was only 25 at the time and she 14 but even then she was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen and instantly knew I had to make her mine, even if it meant removing the problems that laid before me, her family, for while I may have been the youngest CEO within the crowd, I was also not afraid to assert my dominance in things that I wanted and while I was aware of each of her brothers I did not let that stop me from wanting her.

Soon sweet Ella, Soon I shall take you and make you mine, are my last and final thoughts as I move to leave the funeral, the need to return home and plan out my victory a must for there was no way I would let mere boys take what was rightfully mine.
