Chapter 33

Third Person

When texting Ella about our delay over in Maryland I instantly regretted it. Knowing she would worry about us that I opted from saying anything more on the matter, muses Reece, Dylan and him both still waiting for their next flight to New York.

“Next time we travel we’re taking our plane” grumbles Dylan who was currently sitting next to his brother in the terminal as they continued to wait having gotten to the airport around 10 that morning and were now going on almost 2 hours of just sitting there, waiting until they were called to board their next flight.

Chuckling softly does Reece try to ignore his brother's reply, knowing they could have easily taken their own plane but Reece had wanted to opt for 1st class elsewhere instead.

“Relax, if were not in the air soon I’ll go see what’s taking them so long” remarks Reece, his eyes now shifting towards his phone, wondering if he should check the cameras back home to see if he could spot their Princess for after all being rich was hard as everyone wanted a piece of you including your wealth and Ella was the most important piece of all.

It was also one of the many reasons that Reece, Dylan and Caleb had decided to build their home away from prying eyes, so that they could also live a normal life without the press or overly excited fan girls that always seem to grow with Caleb and his ever growing popularity within the NASCAR community.

Shaking his head, Reece decides to check, knowing Ella was home alone and not with them made him worry for the young girl for Ella was theirs and they always took care of what was theirs no matter what.

Ella, thinks Reece as he moves to unlock the screen of his phone unaware that Dylan was now watching him as he did.

Opening his phone, Reece moves to open the security cameras on his phone. Reece beginning to search through each of the rooms within the house only to frown when he couldn’t find Ella anywhere within them.

Where is she?

Trying not to panic, Reece keeps scanning through each of the rooms, his brows knitting seamlessly on his face as he tries not to smash his phone out of frustration when he keeps coming up empty handed.

“Fuck!”

“Is something the matter?” asks Dylan, his voice low while his eyes dance between his brothers and the phone within his hand.

“I can’t seem to find Ella,” admits Reece.

“WHAT?!” whispers Dylan now concerned as well.

“I just checked the camera’s within the house. I don’t see her anywhere” answers Reece handing Dylan the phone so he could check over them as well in case he missed something by chance.

Taking the phone Dylan moves to double check the cameras as well, hoping to see something, anything that Reece might have missed during his initial search. A frown now marring his own lips as he moves to look back at Reece.

“Have you checked the cameras within the bedrooms?” asks Dylan, almost like an afterthought.

“No, Not yet. I had hoped she would be lounging on a couch or something” grunts Reece, displeased that his sister wasn’t with them.

Humming, Dylan moves to search each of the inner rooms. First checking Caleb’s room followed by his own then moving to check that of Ella’s room only to find each of the rooms empty, void of any and all presence a frown rising as he did.

“Well?” asks Reece, clearly worried and wanting answers.

“Caleb’s room, my room and hers are each empty. The only room I have yet to search is yours” admits Dylan, his eyes looking to Reece, knowing how each of them liked their privacy within their bedrooms.

With a shaky breath he nods, “Do it.”

Nodding, Dylan moves to check Reece’s room, the last room of the house without having to check Grant and Hayden’s room or the Maid and Butler rooms, unsure of what they would do if she wasn’t there, his breathing now fast as Reece’s room finally comes into focus.

Holding a breath, Dylan pans the room steadily with camera until finally he sees it. A sigh now leaves his lips as he moves to look further. For there laying on Reece’s bed was Ella, her big stuffed bear present as she snuggles it within her sleep.

“Well?”

“She’s in your room, a sleep from the looks of it”

“My room?” questions Reece, confused.

“Ya, not sure why though. Maybe something happened. Either way it’ll have to wait until we're back home to investigate.”

Sighing, Reece nods his head, “Fine.”

Just then an announcement is heard over the intercom signaling to both Reece and Dylan that it was now time to go. Standing from their seats, Reece moves to tuck his phone away as both move to head towards their flight, finally being able to board after hours of waiting.

With his phone tucked away for safekeeping does Reece move to push his thoughts away, Reece mentally wondering why their Principessa was in his room and not her own.

Questions I suppose that will have to wait, thinks Reece unable to stop thinking of Ella. The motto Business before pleasure a mantra that they had each followed for as long as possible only to mentally frown the mantra now silly.

Fuck business before pleasure. Fuck all of it. Ella is ours and only ours. She is our sole reason for being. And I swear it, if anything happens to her while we’re gone someone will pay dearly for it, ponders Reece, knowing it to be true for they knew people and all it took was one call.

Grabbing his phone once more Reece moves to text Grant knowing that both he and Hayden were both home with her or at least it’s what he hoped as he moves to send a quick text.

Reece: Grant! I want you and Hayden to keep a close eye over Ella. Something’s wrong and she’s asleep within my room.

Hitting send, Reece knew Grant would reply back. It was part of his job to be available when needed only to feel his phone buzz not even a second later.

Grant: What? Are you sure?

Knowing Grant was only going off what he was told, Reece can’t find it within himself to be angry for his lack of faith, knowing Grant wouldn’t have said that if he had more information, information he would have to give him once they landed in New York.

Reece: Positive. Now do as I say. Keep us informed if anything changes and we’ll drop what we're doing and come home as soon as we can.

Reaching their plane Reece instantly feels another buzz, causing him to look just before boarding.

Grant: Roger that Sir.

Satisfied by his quick response, Reece finally feels like he can somewhat breathe easier just as they move to board, each of them handing the flight attendant their boarding pass as they are finally directed to first class, their destination, New York City.
