Chapter 89
Dylan
It’s about 9 o’clock in the evening when my phone begins to ring. My eyes quick to see that it was Reece. My eye arching as I move to answer the phone unsure why he would be calling me when he was at the ball.
“Hello?”
“Dylan? It’s me, Reece…”
“I know that. There’s a little thing called Caller ID, you do know right.”
Growling at my words do I move to speak again. “Sorry. I shouldn’t have teased. What’s up? Why did you decide to call me? Not enjoying your little ball?”
“I’ll explain later. For now I need you or Caleb to bring me and Ella some fresh clothes stat. We’re both soaking wet and she’s shivering.”
At the mention of wet clothes and Ella being cold do I move to focus more on the call. “What? What happened? Are Ella and you okay?”
“Yes, we’re fine. But it was Hannah, that’s who. I told you Dylan, she’s bad news. She flat out shoved Ella into the pool. Because of that Ella nearly drowned…. Again.”
“WHAT?!”
“Yeah. Now hurry up and get here or otherwise I’ll kick your ass once I’m home”
“Okay, okay. We’ll be there soon. No need to go all Rambo again.” I say, my hand now quick to end the call. Unaware that Caleb had been leaning against the door frame of the living room. Having been within the living room myself while reading a book before bed as we both knew the ball would run super long.
“Something the matter?” asks Caleb. His body still leaning against the frame of the room as I move to stand up. My eyes now on his as I move to tell him exactly what Reece said.
“Hannah”
At the mention of Hannah does Caleb move to stand straight. His eyes curious yet firm. “What about her? What she do this time?”
“She shoved Ella into the pool upon the estate. Reece needs us to bring them extra clothes and fast. Ella’s cold and wet.”
“Cold? But it’s nice outside.”
“I know. But her bodies probably in shock remember. You forget that Ella nearly drowned once. It was when she was 7 and we were tasked with watching her, remember?”
“Shit. I totally forgot about that”
“Dude. How could you? Mom and Dad were seriously pissed at us for not keeping a better eye on Ella. Luckily though it was Reece who managed to hear her when he did or otherwise she would have drowned. Now let’s go before Reece kicks our ass for not being there.”
“Right, let’s get going”
Nodding my head do I move to close my book before moving to follow Caleb back up the stairs. Grant, Hayden and Kris each somewhere within the house as Caleb and I move to split up the task at collecting clothes.
Caleb moving to grab clothes for Ella while I on the other hand moved to grab clothes for Reece. Both of us quick in tossing clothes into small duffle bags before meeting back up within the hallway.
“Ready?”
“Ready”
“Good. Let’s get going shall we? I’ll text Reece and let him know we’re on our way with the clothes.”
Quick to nod his head does Caleb and I both move to leave the hallway only to stop by a voice. “Not without me you aren’t.”
Pausing within our movement do we both turn to see Grant and Hayden within the hallway. Hayden now holding up a set of keys. My eyes quick to look at Caleb who only shrugs his shoulders.
“How?” I ask him, now curious as to how he knew.
“We heard you both while we were all downstairs. Now then, one of us is coming with you. If Ella is in danger or Reece then you’ll want one of us with you” explains Grant to both Caleb and I.
“Fine. But be quick. We need to get there ASAP” explains Caleb.
“Already a head of you. Let’s go” says Hayden as he moves to look at Grant and Kris. Kris clearly worried for Ella. “Hold down the fort for us while we’re gone would you?”
“Of course I will”
Smiling at his words do the three of us now move to head for the car. My hands quick to text Reece to let him know that we were on our way and that I had both Caleb and Hayden with me as well.
Dylan: Hey. I have the clothes; I also have Caleb and Hayden with me as well.
Reece: Perfect. Text me when you’re here.
Dylan: Will do.
45 minutes later do we finally arrive at the estate. The very estate that our family currently owned. The same estate that belonged to the three of us. My brain now quick in remembering Reece as I move to text him once more.
Dylan: Here. Where are you?
Reece: Wait. I’ll come to you. Ella’s currently sleeping. Just wait for me downstairs. And make sure you ignore anyone still there.
Dylan: Will do. I’ll make sure to tell Caleb and Hayden as well.
Spotting the thumbs up emoji do we each wait for Reece to come down. A part of me knowing just how huge this place was and knowing Reece like I did, he probably took Ella some place far away from all the prying eyes.
Because if it were up to me, I would too.

Reece
Upon receiving Dylan’s text about being here do my eyes move to shift towards Ella. Ella currently curled up upon the bed all while wearing nothing but her birthday suit. A piece of me hesitant upon leaving Ella alone for a second time that night.
A battle now brewing within me. A part of me knowing that I had to go and collect Dylan and Caleb while another part of me felt that if I left Ella again that something terrible might happen to her and I don’t think I could handle that once more.
“Baby, if you can hear me, I promise you I’ll be right back okay. Caleb and Dylan are here with fresh clothes for us. So I promise you, I’ll be back shortly okay. So whatever you do, don’t leave this room until I come back.”
Murmuring within her sleep does Ella move to curl further into her blanket. A small smile rising along my lips as I move to kiss her forehead before turning to leave the room. The need to hurry back rising. Unaware that someone else would be visiting Ella without my consent.
The door now clicking softly behind me as I move to jog my way back to where my brothers including Hayden stood waiting for me. Having shut the Masquerade ball down after Ella’s little adventure into the big open pool.
