Chapter Twenty Eight

e
We were all seated, Kate gave me an evil glare, one that I was already familiar with. Vivian gave me a scary stare, just like the one she had given me when she walked through the door this morning. Eleanor and Nancy watched calmly, their face portraying no emotions. Silence lingered. It was well past midnight, but here we were making plots on how to kill members of a gang that I had dreamed so long of killing their leaders. My father was my main target, but the rest of his gangmen would get it from me too.
"That's an excellent idea." Vivian finally nodded, when she was done pondering on all I had been saying for the past few minutes.
"I know, she is going far as a mafia gangster." Nancy gave me that proud smile that I used to see mothers give their children when they do well at school or during athletics. It was a smile I wasn't familiar with. My father never gave me that smile, he had way more important things to do than to support me during days I was performing as an athlete. Sighs!
Now I know what those important things were. I recall the excitement I used to have on days he'd show up for a few minutes with lots of gifts for me. Then there'd be the jealous glares from my fellow athletes, Kate's eyes reminded me of those days too.
Eleanor was speaking, but i was too busy reminiscing, I didn't hear her.
"Uhhm, Camilla." My name brought me back to the present.
"Yes, Eleanor..." I looked up at her, I was previously staring away at the table.
"I'm impressed, I must say. This is an excellent plan, and if everyone plays their role well, it has no probabilities of failing. It's a ten over ten. All we have to do is convince Kate to go, and we are ready to roll."
"No need to convince her, she knows the rules. Besides, Katie... I'll let you have thirty percent of whatever we are payed. I'll take another thirty percent, Eleanor gets ten percent, Nancy gets ten percent and the genius newbie gets twenty percent."
Kate sighed. "It's fucking risky on my side. What are you all doing believing a liar? I thought tasks like this was reserved for the youngest sister. This is a fucking disrespect on my end."
Vivian stared at me, then at the rest of the sisters. "Kate, the Sherlock Head gangsters know everyone of us but you. Are you suggesting that Camila who is just surviving their claws go back to them? They might kill her."
"Yh, right. It's all a set-up, you know... She is one of them. Pedro is her father. Am I wrong, Camilla?"
"Nope." I wasn't telling any more lies, although I didn't tell any about my father previously. I simply avoided the truth. But that was wrong, so now I was letting them know the truth. I saw everyone but Vivian gasp, even Nancy's facial expressions portrayed disgust. "Pedro is my biological father, which gives me more reasons to hate him. He used and abused me for Eighteen years, leaving me with no choice but yield to his advances. Now an adult, I'm out here trying to survive. He is still after me, which makes it even more difficult for me to play my own part in the plan. But that not withstanding, I'll make sure this plan works out."
"Cammie, we don't entertain lies." Vivian didn't seem too angered.
"I'm sorry big sis, but I told no lies. I just didn't see the need to tell the truth either."
"I understand, dear. I see why you wish to end him yourself. No worries, we'll do this. For the money, for the sake of revenge, for the freedom." She wasn't mad at me at all. Why didn't I tell her the truth earlier?
"Plus, if we succeed in taking out the most feared gang in the city, the title automatically becomes ours, don't you think?" Eleanor was making more suggestions lately, seems she isn't as quiet as she appeared this morning.
"Although it would attract jealousy, it's a good thing. Now tell me, Kate. How long have you known the truth of Camilla and her father?"
"For as long as she has been here, lord. Which hasn't been so long, I mean I knew she was here before you found out. I am sorry, I should have told you all of these earlier. I just don't know what come over me."
Vivian smiled. "So now I'm your lord? Now you recognize me as your queen? Now you know you broke the rules, I'm your lord? It's a pity Katherine Schwarzenegger. I trusted you so much, and I expected better from you. If you know things that might put us in trouble and not say, you might even betray us." Katherine was nodding no nervously, there was fear written all over her. That ought to teach her a lesson for a start, no one gets away for treating me badly.
I was going to exert revenge on everyone out there whoever made me feel bad or cry, that was certain. Females, I'd just punish them. Males, I'd end them. Seeing Kate plead was satisfying.
"I'm sorry, her royalty. I didn't mean to, I just felt like..."
"You just felt like blackmailing her?" Eleanor was standing up for me. "Making her do your laundry? Making her order pizza for you?" Vivian had enough already. I didn't know she knew what was going on. " Usually, I'd send you out, but we have a blood oath." Kate was rubbing both hands together in what seemed like a plea and forcing the tears back.
Vivian sighed with compassion and finally said, "You are demoted!" This brought the tears rushing from Kate's eyes, and a smirk to my face. Vivian spoke on with no change of her facial expressions. She obviously didn't care how Kate felt. "You are to set out on the task assigned to you tomorrow, and as you know, if you tell on us, you are toast. You know better than to break a blood covenant. Do not come back here until your mission is accomplished. Failure to accomplish the mission will warrant a painful death. You know how it's done. Leave my presence now before I get even more irritated at you." Kate nodded, genuflected and exited through the door that led to her bedroom.
"Don't you think that was a little bit too harsh for someone who you founded the gang with?" Eleanor sounded like she was supporting Kate. She had better not be supporting her because if she was, I wouldn't take it lightly with her.
"Don't you think she was a little too irresponsible for someone who has been in this gang for that much time?" Eleanor nodded. "You are right, queen. You are right." She left the living room and headed for her bedroom, that was were Kate was as well. It made sense if she felt bad for Kate, they are roomies after all. But if she dared to support her, she would get her own dose of the medicine.
"Stay behind, Cammie. We need to talk. I have questions, suggestions and good news." Nancy excused us, and I sat next to Vivian. It was a royal conversation. A queen speaking with a queen, the difference was that one was recognized by all as a queen, but that would soon change. While the other was recognized only by herself as a queen, and would soon make the whole world see her as one.
