Chapter sixty two
"He called again!" He waved my phone at me.
I was sitting in the bathroom, next to the laundry machine, doing the laundry.
The last thing I wanted was to be interrupted for any reason whatsoever by any mother fucker.
Except it was about Keddy. I missed him so much, and I knew that he was worried sick about me.
"What do you say, Camilla? You have two options. Like I said earlier....you either tell him that you deliberately got married to me, and that he is not allowed to call you back, no matter what happened. Or you tell him to come meet with you at a place that I will mention. When he gets there, I'll let you see him for the last time, and then I'll kill him."
I kept a straight face, and a deaf ear. He spoke again. "I am talking to you, young lady." I knew what he was capable of doing, especially because he was an extremely bitter man.
He seemed really possessive too, and was already beginning to see me as his. He didn't want anything or anyone to come in the way of he and I.
"But wait..." It hit me that my father and I didn't recover my phone from Sandra, so how did he have it? "How did you get that phone? I don't remember being with it on the day that you kidnapped me."
I caught him. There was a lot of twists to this story. Which was why he kept his face masked, despite all the threats that he was making. I wished to see his facial expression, but his gestures told me that he was uncomfortable, and probably thinking of an answer.
"I don't owe you any explanation, Camilla. You owe me an answer to my question, so go ahead and provide me with it." He was a very crafty man, and covered up in a swift manner.
I nodded, he was not wrong. He didn't owe me any explanation, after all I was at his mercy. "What is it I'll tell Keddy, when you call him?"
"You'll tell him that you got married to me, and want to move on. Tell him that he has been bothering you, and should never call you again. Tell him that you are happy without him, and that he should find happiness and peace without you, just like you did."
I gasped. "But..."
"But what?" He moved closer to a stool next to me, and settled in on it. "But what, Camilla?" He wanted to place his hand on my lap, but I shifted far away from him. He sighed, and stood from the stool. "Listen, it's either this, or I'll kill him."
This was a tough decision to make. "How long do I have with him, before you kill him? You did say that I will spend sometime with him, and then you kill him. Also, where am I going to meet with him, before you kill him?"
I had a lot more questions, but these were the ones that I knew he might answer. He tapped on my phone screen, as if the answers to my questions were in the phone, and he was trying to retrieve it. And then, he sighed in exhaustion. "Thirty minutes, by the side of a major road. Don't think of playing games with me, it's not going to work! It worked on the Sherlock Head Mafia Gangsters, it worked on the mafia sisters, it worked on Pedro, it worked on Sandra. But Camilla, it's not going to work with me. I have no camera that sees the whole city, but it's not going to work."
He read my thoughts, I was thinking of eloping with Keddy. But he had given me such a stern warning, I was really scared of going on with the plan.
"Answer me, Camilla... What's your decision?"
"What if I do nothing?" I paused, to think of ways that I would structure my words, just so it got positive responses. "What if I don't answer the phone call, and I don't meet with him? What if you just block him?"
He nodded no. "I will kill you! I'm a jealous lover"
"But we are not even lovers." I was raising my voice at him, without realizing.
"Don't raise your voice at me, girl. If we are not lovers, what are we?"
"I don't know! You lusted after me, and then you took me hostage. Just to satisfy your crazy cravings. Keddy and I are lovers, you are a kidnapper." I was beginning to wish I didn't say that much. I shut my eyes, and waited for the worst. My heart raced, I was getting sweaty.
Maybe he would kill me, maybe he would hit me, maybe he would...
I felt someone touch me. Slowly, I opened my eyes. He handed me the phone. "You know what to say to him." A pistol was pointed to my head.
I swallowed an imaginary lump and nodded. He had already dialed Keddy's number, and it was ringing.
I prayed that he wouldn't answer, and he didn't.
I was grateful.
"Call back." He was so close to me, he was breathing on my skin.
I dialed the number for the second time.
"Please don't answer, please don't answer, please don't answer." I was speaking in my heart.
"Hello, Cammie" I heard him from the other end.
"Keddy." So much emotions were beginning to well up, my voice got teary.
"Where have you been, baby?" He was really excited to hear my voice. "I have been so worried. Oh Cammie, I have missed you so badly. I thought something happened. Tell me everything, baby. What really happened?"
"Camilla!" He slapped my neck. "Don't you dare give him any response. Say what I asked you to and hang up." He was speaking from a distance, I was certain Keddy didn't hear him. But he could hear everything that Keddy was saying.
"Keddy..." I started off, "I have something to tell you."
