Chapter Forty One

Nancy woke me up the following morning. My phone had been ringing, but I wasn't hearing it ring, as I was sound asleep.
A tap on my back, and I was up. Staring into her dim eyes. Her broad dimples, her thick bro, her long lashes. I hadn't noticed she looks prettier in the morning, until now. She was peering back at me.
"Good morning." She said, making a few and calculated steps away from my bed.
"Hello." I rubbed my bleary eyes, and made an attempt to sit up.
"Your phone has been ringing." She handed it over to me.
"It's morning, already?" I frowned. J didn't remember sleeping, neither did I remember having dinner. I succeeded in my third attempt, and assumed a sitting position.
"Keddy has called you thrice this morning." She ignored my question, and stretched her hand out again, the phone firmly in between her palms.
I took the phone, and unlocked it. Another phone call came in, almost immediately. "Hello." I was a bit anxious, picking up the call.
"Cammie?" Keddy's voice sounded very excited.
"Yes, is everything okay? You are calling me so early this morning, what's the matter?"
He giggled. "It's nine am, lover girl." His tone became more relaxed, he continued. "I called to say good morning, and to tell you that I love you no matter what happens. I just wanted to remind you that I can and will never forget you, no matter what happens. I won't think any less of you today, please do not think less of me today either."
Neither me, nor Nancy could control our surprise. "You can't be serious right now.." I felt really special listening to him speak.
"I am" He took a deep breath, and then be continued. "Have an amazing day ahead of you babe, I have to go now."
I was grinning ear to ear when he hung up. "WOW!" I subconsciously let out.
"Are you also surprised?" Nancy stood, hands on waist, she was beyond astonished.
"I am." I got out of bed slowly, and set our on my preparations for the day. I had zero plans ahead of me, but I was certain that I was going to kill Pedro before the end of the week, and nothing would change my mind.
"Camilla." Nancy was already dressed up before I got out of the bathroom. It seemed she had already showered, before I woke up.
"Yh..." I paddled to my wardrobe, to pick out my outfit for the day.
"Do you promise me that you will kill Pedro?" She wanted to make sure I meant what I said yesterday.
"I do." I said it again, my mind was made up.
"Thank you." She smiled, and banged the door behind her. I could hear her feet, as she ambled through the hallway, down to the living room.
I got dressed, and ready for the day ahead of me.
Before I went downstairs to have breakfast, I texted my mum.
"Good morning mum, I really enjoyed meeting you again yesterday, and I had the best time of my life with you. I am sorry, but I have to take things a bit differently than we planned. I bet you'll understand. I love you, have a nice day." I headed downstairs afterwards still unable to decide what my next line of action would be, or how I was going to keep stalking the Mafia sisters till I figured out a way to end Pedro and his gang mates.
Kate ordered for breakfast, instead of making it. It seemed like the Mafia sisters forgave her sooner than I thought they would, and I had no problem with that. I was itching to ask her where she got money for it, though. But one thing that I have noted in the sisterhood is that they don't care about how you get stuff done. What they really care about is that it's done.
"Where's Nancy?" I asked, after I settled down on the dining.
"She left a few minutes ago. I think she was up really early this morning, I wonder where she could be at. Maybe she has an appointment to keep up. We did think she had told you where she was going, but it seems she didn't. I hope everything is fine with her." Eleanor responded to my question. She was saying more than I thought she would.
I said nothing more, until I had devoured the breakfast of pizza and pineapple toppings.
"Thanks, Kate. I enjoyed my meal." I smiled at her, dabbing the grease out of my mouth.
"Welcome." Kate nodded, still chewing on hers.
Apparently, Kate wasn't demoted to the position of a maid, because if she was, she wouldn't be able to eat on the same table with us. I was cool with it anyways, at least I wasn't the youngest sister in the hood.
A text came in, just when I was about to leave the table. Initially, I thought it was a response from my mum, and I didn't feel like checking it. But when I let curiosity get to me, and tapped on the text, it was from Nancy.
It's content was extremely alarming.
"Hello, Cammie. We had a deal. I'm sorry I didn't tell you the whole plan, but at least you know what's going on now, or should I say, you are about to know what's going on?
I'm currently at your birth city. I'm standing next to your best friend Shully, and she isn't going to make it without a transplant." I was wondering what she was doing at my birth city, and what she was doing next to my best friend. But what bothered me the most was the sentence that Shully wouldn't make it without a transplant. I read on. "I have come to donate my kidney to her, and just like I thought, I wouldn't make it. You owe me nothing. But please keep to your own end of the bargain, kill your father."
The Mafia sisters gazed at me, questions written on their facial expressions.
I swallowed, and went straight to my bedroom. I was going to retrieve my gun.
