Chapter Nine
Peter Mack, my father and the man I had met in front of his house were all standing by the side of a grove that was near the pool. I tiptoed close enough to hear them, but not close enough for them to see me. The loafer I was wearing made virtually no noise, which made it easier for me to get close enough.
"Why would you tell her you know me?" My father's eyes were red with anger.
"I was drunk, fucking drunk." Peter Mack showed no remorse. There was a cigar stick in between his index finger, and his middle finger. He puffed on it, and continued. "She played me really well, mehn! Really good. If I set my eyes on her, I swear I will shoot."
"I did shoot her." The short man I had met at Peter Mack's place sighed.
"Don't tell me lies, Job. I was in her hotel room a few minutes ago. Barely an hour. She is healthy, with no scratch. And, you wouldn't believe it, but she was texting her friends."
"I know she is healthy, I shot her but I missed." The man who I now recognized as Job added.
"We need a plan." Peter Mack looked desperate. He busied himself with the cigar, while waiting for others to make their suggestion.
"Well?" My father asked, a few seconds later. Peter said nothing. He swallowed some more of the smoke, and gave a chuckle. Revealing damaged dentition.
"Aren't you going to make suggestions, Pete?" Job stared at him impatiently.
"I am, but I have a feeling we are being watched." He threw a glance in my direction, and the four other pairs of eyes followed suit. I held my breath, and prayed silently that the tree I was hiding behind was doing a good job at keeping me hidden.
"Should I go inspect that area?" Job turned and faced my direction. I ceased to breathe, and shut my eyes. An ant crawled on my left foot, but my loafer protected me. Although I could feel the tickle, I was safe In a way. I knew the ant could not bite me.
"No, don't. We don't have that much time, remember? We have an operation today."
"Okay, so what's the plan?" Job asked again. My father kept calm the whole time, his gaze was directed at the tree where I was. His hands were resting on his waist, and his thoughts were somewhere far from where he was. He bit his lips at intervals, and smiled to himself.
"Camilla recently turned eighteen, right?" Peter looked at Job for a response, and he nodded. "She needs parental guidance, and attention. She can't survive alone. She recently finished highschool, but she needs to go to college. She is a little girl." Job nodded again. "Blue Whale, are you following?" Peter turned to my father. He was still lost in thoughts, it seemed like he didn't hear a thing Peter was saying. "Blue whale!" He tapped my father again.
"Huh?" My father jolted.
"Were you following?" Peter blew the smoke into my father's face.
"I was following." My father lied. I knew he was lying.
"Okay, I'll go on. Just like Blue whale here, said… he is attracted to no one but the little girl. And that is the reason why I will not kill her, because he needs someone to keep his libido satisfied. So the plan is to make her trust him again. With fake attention and care. And make her see reasons why she should be his sex partner. We have all done it before. I did it to my daughter, job did it with those ladies we abducted, and Pedro here, has done it with hundreds of girls. It will always work."
"But Peter, are you really attracted to her too?" There was a flush of jealousy in my father's voice. He seemed uninterested in all Peter Mack had said, all he wanted to know was if Peter had a thing for me too. And I wasn't surprised about that, I have known Pedro to be highly jealous, and bad at sharing.
Peter laughed hysterically. "We are all pedophiles. She is becoming an adult, so… No! I don't think I want her anymore. If not for you, Blue whale I'd track her down, and shoot her dead. But, Nah! Blue whale needs her to Keep him happy." He laughed again. "Right, Pedro?" He looked up at my father.
"Right." My father grinned.
"It's almost time for the operation, mates. We better get going." Job interrupted Peter, and without saying another word, I watched them as they all walked down the road, and out of the hotel gate.
I came out from my hiding place when they were gone, my heart beating rapidly fast.
"Calm down, dear. I will help you." I turned around to meet the lanky guy who had warned me before they came.
"Who are you?" I locked my eyes with his copper colored eyes.
"Call me Keddy." He smiled broadly, revealing his alluring dentition.
