Chapter fifty eight

Previously, all I could hear was the silence. But it was broken by loud footsteps approaching from behind me. A man was with me in the room, and he had been here for as long as I had been conscious. He was probably the one who brought me here, and he was asking for his chunk of flesh. None of it was making sense.
"Who's there?" I asked again, hoping he would provide me with answers this time around.
"That's not your business. What you should know is that I have come for my own end of the bargain."
"What do you mean, please?" I saw his figure moving in the darkness, I was able to make out that he was lanky, and not so tall. He seemed five feet nine or something around that.
"Camilla, you ask too many questions. Stupid ones at that." He paused, and continued walking until he was in front of me. I saw his full frame in the darkness, but was still unable to see his face. "You were shot, do you know that?"
I could not remember being shot. I tried hard to recollect being shot but no memories of it came back to me.
"I don't think so, I was in a fight with the lord of the Sherlock Head Mafia Gangsters. She had punched me and I got unconscious"
He sighed. "You are always arguing. Listen, I am not going to listen to any of the many stupid talks that you say to people. I am here for my chunk of flesh. I'm not going to leave until I have it. So you better cooperate."
"What do you mean by your chunk of flesh?" I was both confused and scared. I was in a totally dark room, really tired, hungry, and probably anaemic. Severe body cramps and period cramps, an extreme painful head ache too. Everything was wrong with me, self defense was impossible.
"I saved you from Sandra." He ignored my message, and instead talked about how he had saved me from Sandra's claws by distracting her.
"Where's my mum?" I asked, finally realized that this was one of her colleagues. An undercover Mafia Gangster, who worked in my mum's hotel. I tried hard to recollect the different masculine voices that I had encountered during my stay in the hotel, and the few times that I had visited. It was a fruitless effort. I couldn't remember anyone with a voice as deep and shriek as his.
"I took care of her." He said indifferently, leaving me really scared. He took care of my mother? That was a really deep statement.
"Sir, what do you want with me?" I didn't have the strength to keep speaking, my throat was dry. I needed water to drink, and food to eat.
"Nothing you can't give, I promise you. Besides, you'll be just fine. I will take good care of you, during your stay here. I will get you enough to eat, drink, and even tampons for your period." My heart leapt with joy, I couldn't help but silently thank him.
"To what do I owe your kindness?" Nothing goes for nothing, I had learnt that in a hard way.
"Your body, Camilla. Your body."
I was going around in circles. Just when I thought I had gained freedom from the cruel hands of the masculine gender. Just when I was beginning to genuinely love Keddy, and crave his affection. Just when I was ready to move on from all that happened in the past. I was back to where I started from.
"Are you serious?" I didn't have the energy to ask in a loud voice, but there was so much bitterness that was spelt out in my voice. "You saved me to rape me?" I was really angered, but didn't have the strength to do anything about it. Even if I did, I was tied to a chair, and placed in a dark room.
"I said this earlier, miss Cammie. I know you for being rude and I will not take that. You better play along with the few rules that I would give to you, or else you are stuck here forever. You'll die of hunger and lack of attention. You do know you are at a very delicate point in your life right now, you are loosing so much blood. I'll loosen the ropes, and give you everything you need. But you have to accept my proposal."
"Okay!" I had no choice. It was either play along or die off. But I did have a saviour, and that was my period. Most men didn't fancy the idea of having sex with ladies who are menstruating. So I decided to use that against him. "I have accepted to do whatever you would have me do, I am really hungry and tired. Please loosen the ropes, it's really hurting me."
He paused, walked to the wall. I heard him flick a switch, and the room was illuminated with light.
For the first few seconds, it really hurt my eyes. I blinked hard, until my eyes got used to it.
I was staring at the man who had threatened to leave me hungry, haggard and tired if I didn't do as he said.
"Cammie, do you recognize me?" He was lanky and not so tall.. just like I had earlier presumed. He seemed five feet nine or six feet tall.
I squinted, trying to look through the mask he had on. It wasn't a false face, it was a dark ugly mask. "I can't sir, the mask is really not letting me. I doubt if I have ever met with you personally."
I said, after many failed attempts to link his structure with someone in my memory.
"That's the plan." He said, laughing loudly. "I don't want you to recognize me." it wasn't funny, i was subconsciously beginning to hate men all over again. What could i do, other than accept fate?
I then I looked carefully around me, at what would be both my home and prison for the next few weeks. Though unknown to me at the moment. When I was done, I sighed in exhaustion. "Please give me the food you promised." Nothing mattered to me like it did, not even the fact that he would drug the food. but then, you wouldn't blame me. I had no idea he would.
