Chapter fifty Six

"I will let you go, but I'll end you." She was planning on letting my mother go and killing me.
For the first time since we entered, I began to look around my mum's office. This wasn't my first time in here, but this was different. For some reason, I just wanted to note every detail.
The paintings, the little library, the portrait, everything was beautiful.
I was really calm for someone who just got threatened of loosing her life, but my mum wasn't.
She fidgeted, and clasped both hands together, pleading with Sandra. I was absent minded.
I just didn't believe that Sandra had what it took to kill me and that was it. While I continued scanning through my mum's office, I saw my father move again. He wasn't dead.
That would serve as a perfect distraction, telling Sandra that he wasn't dead yet.
But I was going to take her down without having to go through the corners.
My plan wasn't full proof, as I had no weapons. But I had no choice, other than going with it.
I continued glancing around my mum's office, it was as though I hadn't heard her.
"Listen, she's coming with me. I bet she has no thoughts of becoming a gangster anymore, why say things as this to her? She deserves happiness in life. Even if it's going to be for a few years. Let her go with me, I beg you."
Sandra squeezed her face thoughtfully, her both hands were on her hips. The gun clasped firmly in her left palm.
"Camilla, what do you have to say?" Sandra wanted me to say my opinions. She wanted me to promise her that I would never be a mafia gangster, she probably was going to make me sign a contract too.
"Go on, baby! Tell her that you have no business with a life of crime. Or do you?" My mother pleaded with both her eyes, words and gestures.
What was the point of leaving with my mum to another city when I had just found my calling?
Especially because Keddy wasn't coming with us to the city.
I asked to confirm anyways. Shifting my gaze from the clock on the wall that read 2am to my mum, I asked her. "What about Keddy, Is he going to come with us?" It had been hours since I last spoke with him and days since I last saw him.
I was already beginning to miss him so badly.
"What does it matter, Cammie? You'll find love where we are going. Although I haven't made up my mind yet on what city it would be, I know that it's going to be a great place that would help you heal quickly. You'll meet a lot of amazing people, and you'll be glad you chose to leave this city."
I turned to Sandra. "What's your plan, Sandra? Are you going to continue torturing innocent people because one person hurt you?"
She nodded in affirmation, "Yup!" And then, she spoke on. "So, are you going with your mum, or you are tired of your life?"
"I'm not going with my mum." I said without a slight change in my facial expression, my mother was the only one in the room who was surprised.
"Yup!" She nodded when she heard that. "I knew you are one stubborn young lady." Without waiting to hear another word from my mother or me, she pulled on her trigger, aiming for my heart.
She missed me completely, I had ducked. "Come on, girl. Don't make this so hard for me. Stand in one position, let's get this over with."
"She's my only child, my hope! Sandra, you aren't this heartless." My mother's wails were getting louder.
"I am this heartless." She said that with a light giggle. "I can do worse than kill an entire family, I mean I set a school on fire once."
"You are not happy doing any of this, Sandra. You can still find peace. You can still find joy, you can still find true love. The only way to heal from things like this isn't becoming like those who hurt you, but becoming a hero."
"Shut up or I'll shoot you too." She had another bullet released to my direction, and thanks to the ducking skills that I never knew I had, she missed her excellent target.
My mum knew better than to keep speaking. It seemed like she was almost out of bullet, and probably had no extras to refill her gun with.
When she tried pulling the trigger but no sound was made, she hissed in irritation, and tossed the gun away.
"Let's do this with our fists, Camilla. A woman to a woman. Come on!" She motioned on me, but my mother held tightly on to me.
"This is our chance! Let's both escape from here."

My mum knew what she said to me was as good as unsaid, I had a strong self will. She didn't need to spend her whole life with me to note that, it was an evident part of my daily life.
I rushed for Sandra and got the first blow from her. It landed on my teeth, blood came gushing from my mouth.
I spat out a mouthful full of saliva and salty blood.
Another attempt I made to throw a punch at her was restricted by her left hand. With her right hand, she gave me yet another blow on my forehead.
That was it!
If I was going to be a gangster, I had to prove it now or never.
I took a few steps backwards, after I managed to let loose from her painful grip.
I was coming for her like a bull. With full force, I launched my signature attack.
A kick on her left cheek.
Not only did she duck, she caught my leg in the air.
And then she used it against me.
I saw myself fly to the other end of the room, like my father had flung me on my birthday in my bedroom.
It felt like a total blackout.
