Chapter sixty eight
Keddy's POV
We were shown to a room and surprisingly he had the keys to the room in his pocket already.
Although I was drunk, I was still alert enough to note the whispered conversation he had with the receptionist before we strode to what would be our room.
"Is that part of the surprise?" I looked with suspicion at the both of them.
He smiled at me and said nothing in response. "Come on sleepy brain, let's get you to the room and quickly. You seem really tipsy." I didn't feel drunk but he said I was. Although my head was spinning lightly, that wasn't completely odd. What I couldn't understand was the pretty young lady sitting on the bed. She looked a lot like Camilla but my eyes were too heavy to see who it really was.
"Cammie..." I squinted, rubbing both eyes. "Baby, is that you?" I turned to him, unable to depict the frame of the lady on the bed. "Is this the surprise? Did you pay money for my girlfriend to be here? I mean how did you convince her? She blocked me, did I tell you?" I knew I was saying too much but I couldn't control myself. I was really excited.
He seemed uncomfortable with my question. "Go find out." He finally said, shuttling far away from me towards the other bed at the end of the room. "You both have fun, I'm really stressed. I need my beauty sleep, good night." He lay down and pulled his blanket up.
I ambled closer to her, still unable to make out her face. It was not so bright in the room, as it was lit with the same dull lamps that the bar had.
"You smell different." I said, sitting next to her. "What happened to you, this isn't how you smell?" It was either another lady or something must have happened to my Camilla. She had a pleasing smell and she never made use of any deodorants. Maybe she used to apply them but the few times we met, she was always on the run. I couldn't say I knew her so well judging from those days. I tried sniffing this strange lady who seemed to have a little bit more flesh than Camilla. I was disgusted by the choking deodorants that oozed out of her.
"Who are you?" I finally asked, certain that this was another lady.
"What does it matter?" Her voice was different from Camilla's. She sounded so deep. A direct contrast of Camilla whose came like a deep water to me.
"Who the hell are you, and why are you in here by this time?" The effects of the alcohol had almost worn off. It was hard for me to get drunk so it was nothing of great shock to me. What did amaze me was the fact that my friend put a lady in our room, on my bed at that.
Was this the surprise he spoke of? I spat on the cemented floor, I was disgusted.
"Please leave my bed. If possible, get out of this room. We paid for it, we shouldn't share it with a hoe."
I didn't see her facial expressions clearly but I knew that she was disgusted. I called her a hoe and I meant it. I spoke on, not waiting for her to defend herself. "If you are not a hoe, why would you be in the room of two young men by this time?"
She began to sob lightly, using her elbow to wipe the mucus off her nose.
"That is disgusting." My face was wrinkled in disappointment and disgust. "Listen, just leave this room." I finally said, unwilling to hear her out. She was trying to express herself but she stuttered.
"I'll leave." She finally said, standing up from the bed. "I was paid for this..." She continued. "If you don't need my services, that's fine. I'll leave. But please sir, don't refer to me as a hoe, that's rude. Your friend told me that you were cheated on by your girlfriend. He paid me to come make you happy, that's all. I don't do this for everyone which is why he hired me. He says you like girls who aren't loose."
Dave paid her to be in my room by past midnight? That was shocking revelation. Although I was initially impatient when she started speaking, I couldn't wait for her to continue. She seemed to be a stammerer because she was trying hard to keep speaking but she was unable to find the right words. After sometime, she began again. "I... I...." She stammered. "I find you attractive but not in the wrong way. He told me the whole story and I think you are doing this thing in a manner that would not help you. That Camilla girl likes you, it's obvious. However, I think you should take your time to know what really is pushing her into taking actions as this. I feel like she is being compelled by someone or a force. Maybe it's something she can't help." She paused to catch her breath, and struggled to continue speaking. "But then I think you should really do a background research on this before cheating on her. I applaud your loyalty, Keddy. She's a very lucky woman. And I wish you both the best in your relationship. Good night." She turned to leave but I was too thrilled to let her go.
"Wait." I found my voice shaking. "For real?" I swallowed hard. "I'm sorry I sounded rude earlier, do you mind if I give you some money? I appreciate your kind words, I seriously did not think about it this way. I was too jealous and angry to think straight. Thank you so much for this words. I'll try reaching her again, although it seems like I have been blocked. She might be endangered.."
"She's in danger, she has to be. otherwise she wouldn't have sounded the way David said she did. Someone has in custody. I can't say more than this. I don't need your money, good night."
