CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Jwala:

I came inside to the living room, but I can't stop myself from going back to Agni. I can't leave him in snowfall whole night. I went to him again.

"Why did you come again? Go inside"

"I won't; I can stay in the garden whole night. My husband already taught me to sleep in the backyard before marriage. So I am accustomed to it. Don't worry."

"Will you stop talking about the past? Now no one asked you to stay in the snow. Go inside"

"The Past is the base for present and future."

"No if you remember the past, you will miss a bright future," he said

Suddenly he lifted me in arms.

"Maybe beast Agni allowed you to stay in the garden, but your husband can't see you in pain, baby," he said and took me to room.

He placed me on the bed carefully.

"Now are you happy?" He said

"Please don't leave again. Snowfall spoils your health" I said to Agni.

"I will just come," I said and brought dinner for him.

"Please, have your food," I said feeding him with my hands.

"I won't say sorry, but for hurting you, I will feed you with my hands," I said and fed him.

We both had dinner.

"Jwala, I am sorry. I already decided to quit alcohol consumption as I know drinking makes me insane. I thought it's not a problem to take occasionally, but from now as you didn't like, I will quit alcohol consumption forever. I will never have it, I promise" he said surprising me.

"I too thought to say the same thing. I mean I didn't want to hurt you. You can have it occasionally, and I will adjust. But, please stay away on that day from me as I am allergic to that smell. I get a severe headache due to that smell" I said

"It's better to quit it forever than seeing you suffering from a headache and staying away from you."

"Thank you."

"I love you. I can give up anything for you except you. I already gave up my plan of killing my father too for you" he said making me happy with his love.

I changed my dress into a night suit and came to the room. I looked for Agni. He is sleeping on the couch.

"Why are you sleeping here?"

"Because, I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable due to the smell of alcohol. For today I will sleep on the couch. You sleep comfortably."

I never thought Agni would understand and takes care of me this much. I love him so much. I kissed on his cheek.

"I am not leaving the room because if you need anything or any problem occurs in the mid of the night; it will be difficult for you to call me. So, if I am in this room, I can take care of you. Do you have any problem with it, sweetheart."

"No, I don't have any problem, and I love you," I said and slept happily.

In the morning, he got ready to go to meet my parents. I sat on the bed holding my dupatta between two hands and folding it with nervousness.

"Why are you, worried baby?"

"Do you think my parents will accept you?"

"I don't know, but surely I will try my best to convince them," he said.

"When will you return?"

"As I am going in our car, I will return tonight. Anyways don't get tensed. Have food on time and take rest. Ask maid if you need anything. Call me if anything necessary."

I nodded. Agni kissed me on the forehead and left to my village. I called him in the afternoon, but he didn't pick my call. I was so tensed to know whether my parents accepted for getting me married to him or not. I touched my belly. I want my baby to have a big loving family.

I slept for some time and got up at evening. I checked my mobile for his call, but there is no sign of any message or call from him. I tried calling him, but again he didn't pick my call. I washed my face and sat on the bed thinking about Agni and my parents.

Agni changed a lot these days. He loves me a lot. He is respecting my feelings and valuing my words. He left his father alive and quit drinking just for me. I am sure he will be a perfect husband and father. I hope my parents will understand his change.

My phone vibrated indicating that I received a message. It's from Agni. A smile appeared on my face seeing his name. I opened the message.

"Hi sweetheart, you have a surprise. Get ready and come to Vinara hotel room no. 25. I am waiting for you.

I got ready and got into the car. The driver took me to Vinara hotel as per my order. I went to the reception.

"Excuse me, where is room no. 25"

"Are you Mrs. Jwala Agni?"

"Yes"

"Madam, please go straight, and you will see a lift. It's on the second floor. Take a right from the elevator. Sir is waiting for you."

I smiled and went into the room. I opened the door but didn't find Agni.

"Agni, where are you?" I called him.

"Here baby."

I turned that side, and it's not Agni.

"Who are you? Where is Agni?"

"Agni is in the office, baby. He sent you for me to enjoy as I helped him in getting a big deal yesterday."

No Agni went to meet my parents. He is not in the city, and I am sure he won't do this to me. I don't believe.

"No Agni won't do this to me. He is my husband."

"Husband" he laughed making me scared.

I thought to run away, but the door was already locked from outside. He smirked.

"Agni loves to play with girls. He married you to keep you under his control. Now don't waste time and come on baby" he said holding my wrist.

"Leave me you b*st*rd," I said trying to get out of his hold, but I received a hard slap on my cheek.

His phone started ringing. He took his mobile.

"It's your husband," he said and kept it on speaker.

"Hey Agni"

"Is she alright? Enjoy her tonight but remember she shouldn't suffer from the miscarriage as we have a lot of work with her child before and after birth too" Agni said breaking my heart.

"Agni, please don't do this to me, at least for our child. I beg you."

"You deserve it, baby. Enjoy it tonight. You will be surely exhausted this evening. All the best, sweetheart" he said and disconnected the call.

He threw me on the bed and came top of me. He tried to tear my dress. I do not understand what's happening as my head was spinning and everything becoming blurred before me. How could you Agni? How could you do this to me?
