CHAPTER FORTY EIGHT

Agni:
I was shocked to hear her words. I got angry with her but controlled myself.
"Why dear?"
"Agni, Aadarsh is not a bad person," she said, and I glared at her.
"Please Agni, listen to me once," she said with scared expressions.
"Ok"
"Aadarsh didn't do it intentionally. Vigna and that idiot blackmailed him. They abducted his parents. Having no option, he behaved so. It's not his fault Agni."
I didn't understand how to react. Jwala trusts everyone, understands everyone except me. Damn it. Now she wants to leave him, though he was the main reason for my wife's suffering.
"Agni, he is a student. Don't spoil his life with filing case, please."
"Did you know this before Jwala? Do you marry him knowing their drama?"
"No, I didn't know until I saw them there."
"Then why are you bothered about that b*st*rd?" I asked her seriously.
"I became a toy to everyone to play as they want including my parents. I am fed up with this Agni. I didn't want revenge from anyone. I want love from you. I didn't want to come outside and file a case on Aadarsh. I can't be that strong. I want to rest. I want to stay away from everything just being in your arms, please" she said.
"Ok, then shall I take revenge on them in my style?"
"Yes do as you wish but not now. Let me recover first. Then I too will do whatever you say. For now, I need rest from all these tensions."
"Ok fine Jwala. I didn't want you to get stressed. We will leave them now, but not forever. Let's take time till you become normal" I said kissing her.
After ten days, she recovered to some extent. I woke up and saw Jwala sleeping beside me, hugging me so tight. I kissed her forehead and got up from the bed. But, she held my wrist. I looked at her and smiled seeing her.
"Good morning, sona."
"Good morning, I love you," she said smiling.
"I love you too, baby," I said and leaned towards her.
I kissed her lips. She responded to me. Later I took an appointment with a psychologist. I took her there convincing her by pampering for a long time.
The doctor tested her and asked me to stay outside. After some time she called me. She told Jwala to wait out.
"Mr Agni, she is in deep fear" doctor said to me.
"Yes doctor, she was so scared of them after that incident," I said.
"You are mistaken. Jwala is afraid of you," the doctor said shocking me.
"Yes, Mr Agni. I hypnotised her. When I mentioned their names, she showed me, hatred on her face. When I mentioned your name, instead of becoming happy, she said don't beat me, don't hurt me."
"Doctor but I... "
"She was so scared of you Agni. When I asked her doesn't she love you, Jwala said she loves you so much but want to stay away as she was scared of your anger. Your rudeness broke her. But, not only because of those culprits but also due to you and her parents. She had a suicidal tendency which went unnoticed by you. You created that suicidal tendency in her. She didn't want to live a life where she is a prisoner. She wants to be free aspiring for her dreams, but after her marriage, she lost all her dreams. She is in a feeling that she was worth for nothing and not needed to anyone. She is in a view that if she shares it with you, you will hurt her more."
I wiped my tears. My irrational anger scared Jwala to that extent. I never expected that my wife was scared and became like this because of me. Maybe that's the reason; she left me.
"Doctor what should I do now?"
"Agni, basically Jwala is a free bird and fun loving girl. She loves to mingle with people. She loves to be independent. But her encounter with you turned her life upside down. She is unable to adjust to your lifestyle and restrictions. You are giving everything to her except freedom and a chance to understand her husband.
She married you for the baby. But, she also thought that marriage would give her the opportunity to know about you. But it didn't happen. Instead, she was more confused about you. When her best friend Aadarsh showed morphed photos to her regarding your affairs, she was broken and addicted to drink. She is hurting herself to hurt you. When she feels that you love and trust her more than anyone, she will stop hurting herself. Even for your attention, she wants to harm herself.
Control your anger. Never raise your hand against your wife. Pamper her as if she is a baby. Show another side of you which removes her fear. Laugh with her and make her laugh. Listen to her every word. If you feel she is wrong, explain her very slowly. Spend a lot of time with her. She shouldn't fear to share anything with you."
"Sure doctor."
"I counselled her and referred her to a psychiatrist as she needs medicine to remove suicidal tendency."
"Thank you, doctor," I said and then took her to a psychiatrist.
The psychiatrist gave medicine. I lifted her from there to the car. I didn't allow her to take even a step anywhere. I was driving the vehicle.
"Agni, what did doctor say?"
"She told that Jwala is a kid and she needs my love."
"What? I am not a kid."
"You are a kid my baby princess."
"No," she said mocking a child.
"You are," I said and stopped near an ice cream parlour.
"Do you want ice cream baby?"
Jwala:
I wondered with his way of talking. We had ice cream and went home.
"Sweety, take antidepressant and sleep. I am going to the office" Agni said to me.
"I will accompany you," I said.
"No, you are still unwell. Please take rest; I will come soon," Agni said placing a kiss on my cheek.
In the evening, I woke up and stretched my arms. I slept for a long time due to the medicine prescribed by a psychiatrist. When I opened my eyes, I got surprised. Room was decorated beautifully in the way I like. The maids replaced curtains with pink colour ones which are my favourite. They posted our wedding photos on the walls. I loved the new look of my room.
"Wow, it's wonderful," I said
"Really?" Agni said smiling.
I hugged him.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes, very much."
After dinner, I slept in his arms.
"Sweetheart, you told me that you want to go for higher studies. One year was lost already for you. Tell me what your dream career is?" He asked suddenly.
"You won't agree with it Agni. Please leave it. I am happy with you."
"I promise that I will help you to do whatever you want, tell me."
"I want to pursue MBA in the US. I know that you won't agree, but it's perfectly fine."
"Apply for MBA in the university you prefer. I think you had good marks. You will get a seat. Let's apply for the visa, by the way, do you have a passport?"
I am too surprised when he agreed.
"Agni, I don't have a passport."
"Ok we will apply for it," he said. He caressed my hairs.
"Sona, whatever you want, share it with me frankly. Tomorrow let's go to someplace. I will tell you everything about my past. You wanna about me, right."
I nodded.
"Jwala, from now I won't hide anything about me from you," he said.
