CHAPTER FORTY ONE

Jwala:

The next day, he was getting ready. I too got ready. I went downstairs to have breakfast where Agni and Vedika were waiting for me.

"Agni, from today I am coming to office" I declared.

"Jwala, you will get more stressed. Please take rest at home."

"Agni, I think this property and office are on my name, right?"

"Yes sweety, everything belongs to you."

"Then who are you to order me not to come to the office? Handover everything to me officially, not just on papers."

"Agni, don't do this. What if she troubles you" Vedika said immediately.

"Ok, Jwala. I will hand over everything to you within two days by making you the official head of the property."

"But Agni"

"Leave it Vedika. I am never bothered about money or power as long as my wife is with me. Nothing is more important than her to me."

He came for the next two days drunk. He behaved as if nothing happened and treated me like a baby. After two days, he showed up to me.

"Jwala, today you can come to the office, I will announce you the MD of our company."

"My company, I think," I said.

"Ok baby, everything is your's from today except." Agni paused.

"Except?" I asked Agni.

" Except my darling wife, she is mine forever," he said kissing me.

We went to the office. Agni announced me as MD and gave papers to me. I sat in his chair crossing my legs.

"You look like a queen filled with pride. You are awesome, sweetheart" he said sitting before me.

"But Agni, when I am the MD, what will be your post. I think there's no post vacant in my company except the office boy. But being Agni, you can't do that. So, what will you do?"

"Jwala, I can understand that you had already planned something for me here too. So go on with your plan than asking me. Being Agni, I can do anything for the people I love. Office boy was the post from where I got to this stage. I respect the dignity of labour and value every job."

"Then go out of my cabin and sit on the chair near my cabin. Work as an office boy. The one who forgets their roots will come to the same place one day" I said

"Yes, applies to everyone," he said and went out closing the door.

Am I right in hurting him? Why can't I be strong when I see the pain in his eyes? Why am I struggling a lot to punish him for his deeds, where he tortured me to hell without my mistake. After some time, I heard the door knocking.

"Yes, come in."

It's Aadarsh. He came with a bouquet.

"Congratulations MD madam," he said.

I faked a smile as I know it's not mine. I snatched it from Agni to punish him. It's his hard work. I am doing this to kill his pride which came due to wealth and power. I want to bring human filled with love out of him.

"Aadarsh, this doesn’t belong to me. It is a temporary arrangement to change my husband. When love doesn't work, we need to use sting to change a person. I hope at least this works to change him before my baby arrives into this world."

"Do you think a person like Agni will ever change?"

"Hope is the only thing which had the power to make impossible possible."

We were speaking, and Agni came inside.

"What is he doing here?" He shouted at me.

"Agni, he is my guest," I said

"Shut up; he is the reason behind our misunderstandings. How can you support him?"

"I am supporting him because I know about him well. I know you are too possessive and you hate if I talk to any guy. Anyways I called him to appoint him as my PA as I am the MD. You have no right to go against me."

"I will talk to you at home," he said and left the office.

At night, I went late to my home. I thought he would scold me for my behaviour, but instead, he ignored that issue.

"Where did you go, Sona? you made me tensed," He asked softly.

"I can go anywhere I want. No need to answer you," I answered rudely.

"Ok, that's true. I trust you so that you can go anywhere you want" Agni said.

I got fresh up, and he fed me the dinner.

"Jwala, I want to talk to you something important."

"For you or me?"

"Aren't we one? When we are one, something which is important to me should be important to you too."

"Come to the point; I am tired."

"I want to celebrate a baby shower for you. I will make the arrangements and will visit your parents to invite them"

"What? You don't like them, right?"

"Yes but I can understand what you feel like a girl. Every girl wants her parents during her baby shower. I didn't want to hurt or disappoint you. I will visit them personally and will call them. You can accompany me if you want, but travelling for many hours is not good for your health."

"No need to go. Speak to my parents on call."

"It may not be good. They are your parents."

"What if they insult you?”

"Not more than you. I will start tomorrow," Agni said coming closer to me.
Jwala:

I laid on the bed closing my eyes. After some time, Agni came to my room. Thinking I am asleep, he kissed my forehead. Then he slept beside me pulling me into his arms and caressing my hairs. I slept in his arms.

Months passed by and I am in my 8th month. Agni arranged a baby shower, and he went to invite my parents to my baby shower. I came home early from the office. He returned by evening.

"Agni, coffee. How is your visit to your in-law's house?" Vedika asked him.

"As expected my in-laws didn't even call me inside the home. Her brother reacted very rudely," Agni said.

"Did you react in the same manner? Jwala will misunderstand you," Vedika said.

"No, I didn't react at all. I gave baby shower invitation and returned" he said.

"Vedika, I am famished. Please prepare something for me immediately" he said.

"For the first time in many years, I heard Agni being hungry."

"My cards are with Jwala. I didn't feel to ask her for money, Vedika."

"What is this Agni? Why are you doing this? She is not that insensitive person."

"I knew about Jwala more than you. She is not reacting in this way without proofs. She tried to inquire the truth. But, she found that fellow who tried to force her is my friend. So she confirmed that I am the culprit."

"What? Who is that fellow?"

"I tried to meet him at the jail, but he was released already."

"I don’t understand how to convince her?" Agni said again.

"I hope once the baby comes into this world, she may change. I changed for baby; I am sure she will change for baby too. Only my baby had the power to bind Jwala and me together."

"Is your conversation completed?" I asked.

"From when did you learn to eavesdrop others conversation?" Agni asked.

"Vedika, I am hungry too. Please arrange dinner soon" I said

"Sure," she said and left to the kitchen.

"Jwala, come to our room," Agni ordered me.

"Why should I?" I said recklessly.

"I said come to our room, right now" he shouted at me.

I nodded immediately due to fear. I ran into the room. Agni came and locked the room. He pinned me to the wall.

"Look, I hate hearing the conversation secretly. If you repeat this, I will punish you," Agni said placing a kiss on my neck.

I pushed him away.

"You never change."

"I changed for you. That's the reason you were shouting at me" Agni said.

I became calm. Agni held my hand and made me sit in bed. He took his mobile and called someone. He kept his mobile in speaker mode.

"Hello, this is Agni, MD of Agni Group of Industries. Is it Avrena bar and restaurant" he said.

I got shocked by his words and gulped audibly due to fear.

"Yes sir, how can we help you?"

"I think you will maintain the records of people who visit your restaurant, right?"

"Yes, sir."

"Can you please tell me did Jwala, my wife visited your restaurant?"

"Yes sir, madam visited today."

"Thank you. Who was the person accompanied her?"

"Mr Aadarsh was the other visitor."

"Ok, did she took a drink?"

"Yes sir, madam took wine."

"Oh thank you," he said and disconnected the call.

"What happened to you Jwala? Why are you becoming an idiot day by day?"

"What did I do?"

"Why did you drink? It's not you Jwala. It's not you. Why did you change to this extent?"

"Agni, do you think that you have right to ask me this question? You are the one who forced me to drink for the first time" I said remembering that incident.

"But Jwala, you are carrying our baby now. What if something happens to our baby?"

"I don't care. Why should I care for your baby?" I said

"My baby? Is the child not your's?"

"Yes, it's your baby. Only yours. Because of this baby, I am bound to you. I married you. I am staying with a person whom I hate the most just because of this child. If something happens to this child of yours, then I will be free from this hell" I said, and he slapped me.

"If you talk one more word, I will kill you right now Jwala. If you say that you are staying with me just for my child, then I will make it sure for you that I am bearing your nonsense too just for this baby" he said kicking the chair in the room.

"Yes, I know you don't love me."

"You are right; I can't love a fool and a stupid," he said.

"Fine then there's no need for staying here. I will leave" I said taking car keys and my mobile.

"Jwala, no it's raining outside. Don't go anywhere" he said following me.

But I went to the car faster than him. The driver was about to start the car, but I stopped him. I drove the car by myself and went off.

I remembered his words and my eyes started flowing tears. It's raining outside, and even my eyes are shedding rain today. I am wiping my tears with one hand and driving with another hand. Agni started calling me continuously. I received the call.

"Jwala, I am sorry. Please come back home. If you want, I will leave the house. But I didn't mean those words. I just said those words in anger. Sorry sona, come back, please. It's risky to go out in the rain" he said.

I was about to reply, but suddenly the route became dark as the headlights of the car were off. I couldn't see the road or vehicles. I tried to stop the vehicle by the side, but suddenly my car hit something which is in front of me. I couldn't trace what it is. But my head and womb hit to the car hard. Blood started flowing out and then everything is becoming blur and dark gradually.

"Baby, My baby" that's the only words came out of my mouth, and everything went blank.

"This rudeness doesn't suit to you at all," he said holding my waist.

"My patience has a limit. If you continue this, I may lose my patience. Then I may become more dangerous."

"Already I took your property and power, how can you become more dangerous without them, though you lose your patience."

"Do you think that power and wealth created this Agni? No baby, this Agni created that power, wealth and fame. You can make this Agni bow before you with love, not with power or money. Money can never drive me as it's not my master, but my slave" he said.


"I am bearing your words, insults just for your love. But, if I feel you are betraying me, that will be the last day for our relationship" he said showing my photos where I am with Adarsh.

"I know you went out with Adarsh. I still trust you. Hence, no issue for now. Good night baby" he said and kissed me.
