CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN
Agni:
"Jwala, I want your happiness," I said.
"My happiness lies in your happiness Agni," she said making me unable to answer.
"No Jwala, you should never give up on your dreams for me. Even when our baby grows up, she feels bad if she comes to know that her mother gave up her dreams just for her and her father."
"It's tough to pursue a career after marriage."
"But it's not impossible, and women already proved that it's possible to continue their career even after the wedding."
She looked at me. She brought a glass bottle and gave it to me.
"Break it Agni," she said
"What?"
"Break it, I will tell you."
I nodded and dropped it on the floor breaking it into pieces. Jwala sat down to collect the broken pieces. I too helped her. She took three bits from the ground and kept it on a table in front of me.
"Fix it into a glass bottle now," she said and shocked me.
"What? How can I fix it? It's broken into three pieces."
"When you can't even fix a broken glass bottle, how do you think that you can fix a broken soul? It's easy to break but tough to fix" she said.
I got shocked by her demonstration. Sometimes she seems innocent, sometimes too smart. Is she innocent or intelligent? Or is she acting before me? No no, her innocence is not an action. If it's an action, then she would never fall into problems.
I looked at her and took those glass pieces and went off from there. I took the glue and glued the broken pieces. I carefully glued lace to it. Added few mirrors and made it look beautiful. I kept a money plant in it. I went to her.
"Special gift for my sweet and hot wife," I said giving glass bottle with a plant in it.
She looked at me.
"Until it's broken, we never knew that this bottle could give life to a plant. Till then, we just used it as a mere water bottle. Maybe God has broken you to know your strength of giving life to others rather than living a life of a simple employee who works in an MNC after completing MBA and surrounds herself with her family" I said.
"Jwala, it's our choice to throw a broken glass bottle in the garbage or make it a beautiful pot which holds this plant. I agree fixing is tough but not impossible. A simple bottle became a pot for plant and is giving peace and beauty to our room by supporting its life.
In the same way, it's your choice to make your life a useless one or an inspiring story. Jwala, I think no one can grow without breaking into pieces. God break us to make us great. This lace and mirrors which hidden the cracks should be your dedication, courage, and success which make you forget your pain.
This broken glass is now capable of giving life to this plant and helps it to grow. You should also become a support to those girls who were victimised by the b*st*rds of this society. If I throw this plant and bottle in the garbage, both become useless. But now this bottle is helping this plant to grow. Fix yourself to help girls betrayed by p*rv*rts grow. If you fix yourself, then you can support many girls who otherwise end their lives. Now the choice is yours. Life is what you make of it" I said and left her alone in the room keeping the bottle in front of her.
I know she was so broken beyond my imagination. I was the biggest reason behind it. But, now I can't leave my wife seeing her spoiling her life. I love her, and I will work towards healing her. I want to fix her broken soul and bring back original Jwala who is jovial and bold.
I don't say that I will save her from societal evils. I will make her bold where she can face wicked people wisely. I didn't want to promise her that she is secured in my arms because it's life and not a romance novel where a female lead gets peace and happiness just by being in the arms of beloved. I will teach her to fight for her security and dignity. It's her life, and she should fight for it. I can't make her believe that everything is fine when I am with her. I want her to feel that everything will be all right until she didn't lose her courage and hope.
I went to her room for 2 hours. She slept keeping her head on the table by sitting on the chair in front of it. Her face says that she cried a lot. I picked her up in my arms and took her to her room. I made her rest on the bed. She needs to rest both physically and mentally too.
She woke up after some time. I sat near her waiting for her to wake up. As soon as she woke up, I pulled her into a tight assuring hug which says I understood her and her emotions. She had tears in her eyes, which were unstoppable. I didn't stop her from crying this time. Only when all the pain goes off in the form of tears, she will be free from the burden of her past.
"Jwala, I shouldn't have made you pregnant without your permission and in wrong age for my selfishness of keeping you with me. I just thought about myself and not about you. I know you are unable to accept our baby though you like her. It's not your fault but mine" I said.
She looked into my eyes.
"I am trying to accept her Agni, and I am becoming comfortable with her day by day."
"I know. But now what I want is you to relax from all these burdens. After the case, be free and take time for yourself. Understand your feelings; find out what you want and how you want to live. Your family will be with you forever. So, stop worrying about it. Just focus on yourself first. A genuine smile of a wife brightens the life of husband and decides the great future of their child. Ultimately the happiness of a wife is the key to the happiness of any family."
