CHAPTER 44
OLIVIA'S POV
Next, we were introduced to a few more people and I could feel the gaze still burning into my head.
I couldn't take it anymore. I looked around and followed the gaze until I found the person behind the stare. My heart slammed against my ribcage as my eyes fell on my one and only father.
Julian looked at me worriedly and he traced my stare to my father.
"Who is he?" Julian asked through the mind link.
My back tingled as I remembered the beatings I got back then and it sent shivers down my spine.
"He.. is my father."
"Isn't he Ferno, the beta's assistant of Black Shrout?"
"Yes," I replied.
"Then... Why were you at Leo's pack? And shouldn't we say hi to your father? He must have missed you a lot."
I scoffed, missed me?
Flashback
'Who gave you permission to leave?" Father asked as soon as he noticed I was awake.
I am a grown woman. I longed to say but the words stuck up in my throat.
'Your tears are not going to fool me, girl. You better think with that empty brain of yours before you decide to run next time because, unlike this time, it won't be good for you at all." My father said to me.
I was about to ask how being hit with a heavy object by your father while you were showering and anticipating a new life was good when I saw the other guy. No, not a guy but a man and he was staring at me. He moved closer to me and I shrieked in fright.
Everything about him from his feral smile to his predatory walk screamed danger.
'This is your mate from now on." My father said to me.
'What?!" I screamed. I was sure I didn't hear him well. I mean there was no way I heard him well.
'I'm not going to repeat myself. Get on your feet." My father said instead.
'Don't scream at her. I believe she has ears, no?"
I heard the man say and I blinked. He had a voice that reminded me of the stream behind Zayn's cabin. It sounded calming and deep, but it could also bring you to your demise.
I took another step back, ignoring the look in my father's eyes.
'You can't take me. The Alpha wouldn't let you do this." I told him.
The man scoffed, looking at my father.
'She talks too much. You didn't mention that when you offered to use her as collateral." The man said.
Collateral? I thought. My father wouldn't be that cruel to me, would he? I asked myself.
'You sold me off to him as collateral?" I asked my father just to be sure I wasn't mistaken. My father ignored me and just turned to the man.
'Alpha Leo, we can decide to knock her out. It seems the last beating failed to shut her up."
'I see my name precedes me since there is fear in your eyes. Do I trust you would come quietly now?" The man asked in a quiet menacing tone which added to my fear.
'Of course, your honor," I told him when I had no intention of following him. He tsked as if he could read my mind, then he snapped his fingers at my father.
'Knock her out. I can't have her awake for the return journey." He commanded my father who moved toward me, but I was faster.
Flashback over***
I looked at Julian whose eyes were still fixated on my father.
"He sold me to Leo," I admitted through the mind link then I tightened my grip around his wrist as I felt a feral growl threatening to spill out from his throat.
"You promised," I reminded through the mind link.
"Did your Alpha not look for you?"
As if on cue, I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Hello, Olivia."
I turned to face Alpha Kian.
The look that used to make me fear no longer had the same effect on me.
He looked quite ordinary.
It seemed my fear in the past made me place him on a pedestal. No wonder the pack slut could even fuck him. He wasn't that tough. No one in my father could bully me right under his nose.
A smirk crept into my face as he looked at me with a generous amount of smile. "Hello, Alpha Kian." I stretched out my hand for him to shake and he gave me a firm handshake.
"I thought you ran off with Alpha Leo, how come you're with Alpha Julian?"
"Alpha Julian is my mate." "Julian," I looked at Julian who looked at Alpha Killian as though he was about to rip him into shreds.
"I thought it was Alpha Leo, what are you doing now, Olivia." Alpha Kian gave me a dark look, "You weren't usually like this. Don't try to get with two Alphas just to climb the social ladder."
"Why? Afraid you'll be seeing me often?" I asked with a smirk.
Alpha Kian let out a low growl, trying to make me submit. However, he no longer had that kind of effect on me.
"Alpha Kian?" A familiar voice said behind Kian.
I scoffed as I saw that it was my proud brother, Gillian.
He scoffed when he saw that it was me. I stared back at him. It had been a long time.
"Look who's here," He chuckled and Julian's mind linked me.
"Who is he? he seems to know you."
"He's my brother, he's no good either. Although my mom holds the whip, he never tried to make it better either."
Flashback
'OLIVIA?!"
I stretched my legs and got out of bed. It was a routine I was used to.
They would scream and I would attend to their needs.
I listened for footsteps and immediately heard one. I straightened up and faced the door.
Only a few seconds later did the door open and I was met with my glorious brother's cocky smile. His arms were folded, and an arrogant look shone on his face. His body posture exuded the hatred he felt for me even though I was his sister.
'Breakfast isn't set and the pack will soon wake." He continued to stare at me in the most condescending manner I always associated with him.
My anger rose and I restrained it. My anger never did any good.
My back stung the scars on it, a reminder of the punishment I faced for defying him.
He had no manners and I had no strength. But at least he had a title that carried power and I was nothing.
Regardless of what I said, I was on the receiving side of the punishment so my words didn't matter.
'Right away," I said. He stared at me before walking off. That was his way of reminding me about the punishment I would receive if breakfast was even a minute late. I started moving as soon as I could because if my mom got here, she wouldn't use words.
Flashback over***
He hadn't changed.
I could still see the arrogance in his eyes but this time, I would teach him some manners if he crossed the line.
I was no longer the Olivia he could push around.
"I see you got yourself a little boy toy."
As anticipated, he crossed the line.
"You are not allowed to speak to Alpha Julian like that, Gillian." My voice thundered, louder than I would have liked because now, I felt stares in my direction but an icy stare affected me the most. I followed my instinct and looked across at me, my gaze falling on Leo's.
LEO'S POV
"Is it not a mistake to bring you here?" I glared at Esther who looked incredibly hot in the red short dress she was wearing.
All unmated wolves were whistling as she passed by, swinging her hips seductively to gain their attention.
"How could it be a mistake, Leo?" Esther said in barely a whisper, "You offered to bring me here. Are you trying to say you made the wrong decision?"
I tried to refrain from snapping at her.
Esther knew I did not like to be wrong so she was using it to her advantage, I knew this about her yet I did not falter. It was my fault for bringing her. Yet, her walking by my side was a huge advantage to me because she was like a trophy I could show off. Men looked at me with a glint of jealousy while secretly wishing they were me. But of course, they wouldn't dare to mumble that out loud due to my reputation.
No one wanted to admit they were evil and the smell of blood was quite dashing for them. So they kept their urges locked up while the others secretly indulged in evil.
I couldn't blame them though.
The werewolf's society was quite hypocritical.
The attention on Esther diminished and people's attention was on the people that had just arrived at the party.
My brother, Julian.
He pushed the door open and walked in while holding the door for a gorgeous woman- Wait, that was Olivia.
My wolf fought for control.
Why wasn't I doing anything when Julian was messing with what's mine?!
My eyes traveled to an eye-catching spot near Olivia's collarbone. Was that a mark I was seeing?
Did Julian mark her?!
As I was about to move toward them, Esther grabbed my wrist, preventing me from moving them.
"Why?!" It took everything in me not to growl at her.
How dare Julian take what is mine?!
This wasn't his first time.
When we were younger, I did all of the dirty jobs. I fought hard for our pack to be safe. I got hurt while fighting rogues while all Julian did was read books and give advice.
My foolish father then decided that Julian was more fit for the position of Alpha.
That was the first and last mistake he made that took his life.
I took his life!
I sliced his stomach open and watched him beg for mercy. But that wasn't the end.
I cut the important parts of his body so he could bleed to death.
But I was too impatient and snapped his neck. Then, Julian barged in to avenge their father.
But he failed.
I succeeded in framing him and I earned the pack's trust instead.
Julian was stripped of being a member of the pack and our sister, Jane was not happy with that.
She was naive and had an innocent approach to life.
She had said she thought we would be together forever. I appeased her by buying her jewelry and clothing but the brat was spoiled and wouldn't appreciate my effort.
One day, I heard that Julian had taken over a pack as Alpha and the pack loved him. All in three years.
He entered my pack and we fought for a very long time. Even though the war ended with both of us having a large number of casualties, I lost. Because Jane choose to go with Julian instead of me who she'd known for a very long time.
Julian was gone for three years and his temperament could have changed but she didn't care and left me alone.
Now, I managed to lay my hands on that hot chick, Olivia and Julian came into my pack pretending to care for me. That bastard!
I should've known.
I had suspicions about him but I assumed it was because we already had bad blood. Who would have thought that he was responsible for the kidnap of my Luna?
Now that I thought about it, the ways he used to kidnap her were very impressive.
I released a chuckle.
I was not just going to accept this.
I would make him pay. Olivia was mine, I bought her. She belonged to me.
How dare Olivia think she could live happily with Julian?
He was smiling at her and she smiled back at him and this got on my nerves.
"Relax, Leo. I won't let you suffer this embarrassment alone." Esther said and I immediately trusted her.
"What will you do?" I asked.
"I have a plan."
