CHAPTER 60

"Hail Alpha Leo!" The troops yelled out in greetings as I stepped into the scene which looked dusty and reeked of grown men's sweat.
I had unified Black Shrout with Blue blood so I had double the number of troops I had when I ruled blue blood moon. Also, I had changed my headquarters to black Shrout because it had good scenery and was also advantageous during war because of the direction of the wind.
I nodded to the troops and the commander, Tuco directed them to continue training. I liked this man because of his diligence and the eye he had for opportunities.
His Alpha had asked him to gather warriors to kill me but all I had to do was offer him more than the pathetic excuse of an alpha could and he immediately answered to me and killed his Alpha.
I smiled, life would be easier if everyone just answered to me and do whatever I wanted.
This thought led to another interesting thought and I decided it would be quite fun to test it out.
But first... I had to visit a little someone.
I turned around and decided to head back to the pack house. Across of it was a yard which contained a bungalow, that was where my witch resided.
A smirk crossed my face as I remembered everything we had been through together. If it wasn't for her, this opportunity wouldn't have shown itself.
Fortunately, our hard work was not in vain. It was a pity though that Esther was having trouble using her maximum powers. That made me the most powerful being and Esther was no longer able to threaten me.
These days, I saw her as a cute puppy.
Her threats sounded dangerous sure but it was all barks and no bite. Even her barks were somewhat cute. As long as she didn't cross the line.
I entered her yard and pushed open the front doors. She was sitting on a chair while staring out the window.
She didn't react to my presence which made me laugh. That witch never seized to humor me even though she wasn't doing anything specific.
"Won't you say hi to your friend?" I decided to pester her first.
"Alpha Leo, to what do I owe the pleasure?" She still wasn't looking at me.
"What about a massacre to brighten your mood?" I offered.
She liked events that involved her showing her power. If I gave her the means to participate in this one maybe it would brighten her mood?
"Not interested,"
I laughed at the sass in Esther's tone. Of course, she was still pissed because she couldn't use her power in full doses.
She once tried and she got internal injury she was still suffering from.
"You will be," I said.
That was a fact. I knew this witch all too well.
"Someone!" I said in a loud tone and the maids of the yard rushed in with a frantic look on their faces.
"Yes, Alpha?!"
The women chorused. They looked scared of their lives. Many of them had watched their husbands or brother's die for trying to resist me, they knew better.
"Get me twelve fine paper and an ink."
Two of the maids left to take care of my order while the others prepared a chair in front of Esther's table. I could sense her disgust but she still wasn't looking at me.
I took a seat and looked at the frown sink into her beautiful ageless face.
If I could, I would like to fuck her face just once but that would be crossing the line. I knew Esther did not have a thing for me... And besides she was my benefactor.
"Esther," I sighed and looked at the scenery she was looking at.
Outside the window was the wind silently blowing the flowers. The sun was facing us and it looked golden but it did not burn our vision.
It was hypnotizingly beautiful like Esther.
The maids arrived with grounded ink, feather pen and fine paper like I asked.
They placed it on the table and I dismissed them with the wave of my hand.
"Esther, what should I write to the twelve-packs? If I'm to convince them to join my pack, how do I?"
Esther scoffed and muttered under her breath, "Don't you have the most powers? Think for yourself!"
I smirked, she was just jealous that my powers had no side effects but her... Her case was quite unique.
"Come on," I cooed.
She did not respond so I had to come up with something on my own.
I wrote the name of the pack on the top of the letter before I began.
I hope the letter reach you safe, I would like your pack to be under my jurisdiction for a good cause. Alpha Leo.
Esther shook her head and I caught her disapproving eyes. She had took a peek of my letter.
"Why? Don't you like it?" I arched an eyebrow.
"I didn't know you were into calligraphy."
I froze. Did she notice?
Why I was younger, I didn't have any toys to play with so I grew a likening for calligraphy instead but I never nutured that skill because I found it hopeless...
I could only gain recognition for sharpening my fighting skills.
"It's just my normal handwriting," I cleared my throat.
I wrote the same letters for the other packs. I had it properly covered and sent to the packs.
Seven days later***
I received rejection letters from a few parks while the others did not respond. It irritated my guts. Why wouldn't they just listen to me?!
There was normal wrong with unifying with me either. I had powers and I would make the werewolves the most formidable in the spiritual realm.
Fuck the spirit codes, I would take over the other realms with my powers and soilders by my side.
However, I was looked down on so I knew I couldn't fulfill my goals in a short time so I decided to prove myself.
I was going to show them!
I called for Tuco, the commander of the army and he immediately came to see me. I told him my plan and he was very pleased with it.
He left with the army and arrived in three days to give me good news.
Scarlet sky, the weakest of the twelve-packs was defeated.
The skies darkened in celebration.
That night, it rained and I threw a feast for the entire army.
A few days later, Alphas of some packs came to see me for the unification of our packs.
They were of course, cowardly but I did not blame them. If I were them, I'd do the same thing.
However, there were a few packs who didn't submit to me, it was only a matter of time.
My brother's pack was one of them but I didn't plan to do anything for now. Jane was still there... Julian wasn't in the pack either because he was busy looking for Olivia who was already dead.
Right now, she was a monster under Esther's control. It didn't matter if he found her or not, she would never be the same. It was impossible. She was already gone.
I would let Julian suffer a bit more before proceeding with my plans. Right now was just a warm-up.
BETA HOLDEN POV (Julian's Beta)
I hope the letter reach you safe, I would like your pack to be under my jurisdiction for a good cause. Alpha Leo.
My mate read out the letter we received from Leo.
I knew he was crazy but this type of crazy superseded another level of insanity.
After hearing the news that Scarlet sky was invaded and destroyed before we could bat an eye, I requested that Niamh re-read the letter Alpha Leo sent to me.
"Why do we do, Holden? The pack is in panic with Julian and Olivia." Niamh said.
"I'll look for Julian," I said. I had been thinking of doing that lately but I hesitated because of Niamh. I didn't want to leave her alone to deal with frustrated and angry pack members but if Julian didn't come back, we would be plunged into chaos.
"No," Niamh said, "That's not an option."
I sighed, "Why?"
I looked at the pensive look on Niamh's face and sighed. She was an affectionate lover, yes. But when it came to serious matters, she thought critically without a regard for emotion.
I couldn't understand how she did that, it was almost like there was a button in her brain where she could flip switches and choose to think analytically.
Niamh grabbed my forearm and pushed me down into a chair.
"What?" I asked. She looked like she was going to ride me. Not that I minded but-
"Julian went to find Olivia because he can't function without her. Even though you brought him back here without Olivia, the possibility of him making the wrong decisions are high."
I was turned off.
"Even if Julian is a bit heartbroken because of Olivia, I've never known him as an irrational person."
Niamh smirked at me, "You underestimate the power of a matebond."
I shook my head.
If Niamh was gone...
I stopped. I couldn't even imagine that happening to me.
Niamh was everything to me. If she was going to die, I'd die with her.
Life without her wasn't possibly worth living.
"Give him time," I snapped out of my thoughts to look at the smirk on Niamh's face. "He'll find her."
I nodded, "But what do we do about the letter Leo gave us? What if he decides to wipe our pack next?"
"He won't do anything." Niamh took the seat across from me.
"Why do you say so?"
"Julian is currently in Leo's territory?"
My eyes widened, was he courting death?
"Niamh!" I called, "How do you know that?"
"Don't you know there are rumors about it? There are also rumours that Jane is in Leo's pack. I think she went there willingly to try and stop her brother."
I facepalmed myself. Julian was definitely going to kill me when he came back.
Not only did I not look over the pack well, Jane was freaking missing. Even if there were rumors that she was with Leo, I had no balls to go there.
"Don't worry, Jane is a witty girl. Leo will feel superior with her by his side, he probably knows Julian is looking for Olivia around his territory as well so he would probably let him suffer for a little while."
"Do you think Mad Olivia will recover?"
Niamh shot me a glare and I straightened up on the chair, "What? It's true."
"Once again, you underestimate the power of a mate bond."
I shrugged, "I'm just being realistic."
But when I put myself in the same shoes as Julian, the problem seemed easy.
If I suddenly went mad and start killing people, all Niamh had to do was give me a slap and I would come back to my senses.
With Niamh being my mate, I was biased about her in everything.
Not only was she super smart, she was super sexy. I didn't know the spell she put all over me but I did know just what I would do to keep her happy and sound.
"Niamh, what is the overall situation of the pack and Julian?"
"The pack is plunged into turmoil because the Alpha is missing, the warriors have no fighting spirit due to the absence of the Alpha. Julian usually train them sometimes but now he's not here to offer moral support."
Trust Niamh to accurately
describe what's going on.
"Julian is probably hungry, cold but he'll struggle to survive until he finds his mate."
I nodded and started applauding.
Niamh was fucking smart. This was exactly why Julian choose her as the omega.
She was both smart and stunning.
I was truly blessed to have her as my mate. "What about the end result, Niamh?"
"Hundred percent victory."
"Why is that?" I curiously asked.
"Julian is within Leo's territory, if he gets a whiff that Leo will wage war on us, he'll come back."
"But you said..."
"As long as there's hope, Julian will keep Olivia in his mind but will protect his home first. Like you said, he's not an irrational person."
I nodded, "Very well said, love."
Niamh wiggled her eyebrows at me and I smiled from how cute she was.
