CHAPTER 70

OLIVIA'S POV.
"There's one more thing, my lady." The leader said in a serious tone.
I lifted my eyes and stared at him in wonder about what else he could want from me.
"What would that be?" I asked him when he didn't say anything for almost a minute after he had spoken.
He got up, came to my side and he began to pace around me. All through his scrutiny, I was very nervous but I tried my best to keep my anxiety down since I didn't want to display fear in the den of the wolves. At last, he stood in front of me and stared directly into my eyes.
"I can still smell your fear, my lady. Have you forgotten that I am an Alpha wolf? My sense of smell is a lot heightened than that of ordinary werewolves." He told me.
When I looked at him in shock, he flashed his teeth before me. I wanted to vobblered him but I held on to my restraint. Gone were the days of mindless killings.
"You feel like killing me, don't you?" He asked me again with a naughty smile. He didn't wait for my response or my anger which was beginning you mount. He simply went back to his seat and sat down majestically. "I am usually this annoying and many people are already after my head that you would have to get in line, my lady."
I shrugged at his words and shook the anger away from me. The man was right; with the reckless way he lives and his annoying ways of talking to people, there must be a price on his head.
"You still haven't told me what the one more thing was, oh great leader of the White Ice," I told him in a clear time that indicated I was mocking him and his Alpha ways of life. "Or is that also a way you add more people to fight for the trophy of cutting your head off?"
The man dared to laugh at my words and I almost went over to him to give him the slap that my palm was willing to hand over. The only reason I still had my control tightly wrapped about me was because my wood didn't smell any danger from the man.
"I like you." He said while pointing a finger at me. "I really like your attitude, my lady. Never had any woman done that to me before. But, I expected nothing less from the Luna of the Black Shadow." He told me.
I was so shocked to hear him say that, "You know I am the Luna?" I asked him and he nodded in agreement. "How?!" I asked him a little loudly since I remembered very well that I didn't tell him my position in the pack.
"Are you kidding me? The Alpha's smell is all over your body, my lady. Why else do you think I sniffed around you?" He asked me. This time, he laughed outrightly and I felt a little foolish.
"I didn't know that," I defended myself. I went over to the chair I had vacated earlier and I plopped down in it.
"What about the mating mark he gave you?" He asked me and he pointed to an area on his neck where my mark was supposed to be. My half went to the area unconsciously before I could stop it. "That?"
"Anyway, what was the one thing you wanted?" I asked him in a bid to make him forget about the mark but I could tell her wasn't having any of it.
"I also know that you went into a killing frenzy mood and you just regained the memory of who you are." The man said.
I nearly fell from my seat as I heard those words. To prevent the accident, I held on tightly to the table that separated us. Still, I reckoned in shock.
"How did you know that?" I asked him when I regained my voice.
"I know everything about the outside world. In essence, my rogue group could also be called the information rogue instead of White Ice." He told me.
My mind traveled far at that moment. Haven't I decided that I was going back to Julian? If I could ask about where he was from the leader of the White Ice, then I wouldn't need to go about aimlessly looking for my mate.
"As I said earlier, I know everything about the outside world." The leader said to me with a smirk. He raised his brows at me when I looked at him in a feigned ignorant look. "Don't you want to know about what is on your mind?" He asked.
"You know what is on my mind?" I asked him.
"Not really but you can ask." He conceded.
I knew I should take the chance before he decided that he had changed his mind.
"Why?" I asked him instead of the question that was on my lips.
"Because you've been very interesting. I like your courage and all, so, I'm giving you a chance." He said to me and crumpled his face.
"I want to know about the outside world, that is all," I told him.
"No, you wanted to know about your mate." He raised his hand in the air to stop my argument. "I'll tell you, don't worry." He chuckled at me.
"Okay, fine," I said and I threw my hands up in acceptance of defeat, "Where is he?" I asked the man.
"According to the information I received from my men outside, he's preparing for a battle he's planning to visit his brother with at Black Shrout. Simply put, he will be visiting our part of the world soon." The leader told me.
"What?!" I asked with a little shock.
"If I am right, which I am by the way, then today is the day he will be waging the war against his brother at the palace. If he is not there yet, then he would be there soon." The leader clarified.
If I thought that I was shocked before, then I was even more shocked than earlier. I shot out of my seat in the terrible fear that engulfed me.
"What rubbish are you talking about?! That is a suicide mission!!" I shouted at the white-haired man.
"He's not alone actually, he has the support of other clans. To be honest though, you were right about everything you said. He is going on a suicide mission." The man said in a voice that sounded like he didn't care about any of the things going on or the people that would be losing their lives if nothing was done to stop them.
"I've got to go now," I told the leader of the White Ice pack and I rushed out. When I was by the mouth of the cave, I paused for a second, "Thank you for your help," I told him and I disappeared outside.
When I stepped outside, the Emerett rogue members were all chatting among themselves in groups of two and three. The moment they all saw me, they stopped chatting and they all turned to me. They all began to hail me and even though it was what I wanted, my mind was far away from it.
"Olivia, what's wrong?" One of them asked me.
"We are sorry for treating you wrongly." Another one said.
"Yeah, we are deeply sorry." Another person chipped in.
"It was just hard to accept a lady as one of our own." Another person said again.
"But now, you've become one with us. As long as you need us, we will always be there for you." Somebody else said.
When I heard those last words, I waited to ask them to follow me to the palace but then I reconsidered. I didn't have to put them in danger just because I wanted to save my skin and the life of my mate and the members of the Black Shadow pack. No, that would be a callous act.
Let's go. My mate chanted in my head.
That reminded me of the harsh situation and how much I was wasting my time staying around with the people. Perhaps when all was settled, I could come back from a visit to both rogues. For now, however, I needed to see that my mate was still okay.
Without wasting so much time, I rushed away from all the men and dashed straight into the woods.
"Where are you going?"
"What should we tell the Alpha?"
"When will you be back?"
"Do you need someone to come with you?"
"The wood is too dangerous to venture into all by yourself."
The words from the Emerett group all followed me as I kept running through the woods but I ignored them all. The survival of my mate was more paramount to me than my survival.
Let's shift. My wolf told me.
I agreed with him and I stopped running. I undressed and shifted into my wolf. As soon as I picked up my dress with my mouth, my wolf sprinted through the wood. She jumped over the branches on the floor. Even when a split branch got intobher paw, my wolf just stopped for a moment, licked her paw, then she resumed her jumping and evading.
When I got to the closest forest to Black Shrout palace, I stopped running and jumping about. I looked around to make sure that there was no one around to see my naked body. When I was sure that there was no one around, I shifted back to my human form, completely naked. I took my dress and began to dress.
Blood. My wolf said to me.
"Blood? Where?" I asked her. I swapped up my panties and I placed my legs in the opening.
Nearby. My wolf said in response and she began to prance about.
I was still struggling to get my pants to cover the hair around my pussy when I got the words of my wolf. I stopped midway in my action and I looked around. Blood? Nearby?
When the words finally hit me deep in my system, I dragged the pants up forcefully. Within a minute, I had already finished dressing and I rushed out of the forest. If my wolf could smell blood around, that has to mean that the war that white haired man has told me about had already begun. Then, that would mean that Julian was in danger.
I smelled the air to pick up the area where the smell of the blood was the strongest. When I got the smell, I ran to the direction where the smell came from. By the time I got to the area, I nearly lost my intestines.
People were killing each other like they were nothing but turkey meant for slaughter. People shifted into their wolves, tearing off each other without mercy like they were animals and prey. Dead bodies laid on the floor and some of them were too gruesome to look at.
Some were without their arms or legs. Some of them had their stomach torn into two, while the others had their head chopped off their bodies. Blood flowed like the rivers of the Ghandis, meeting at various spots and making a single path.
I took my mind off the battle and tried to look around for Julian or any of his men that I could recognize. I walked into the heart of the battle and that was when someone grabbed my left leg. I screamed into the air in terror.
"Luna." The man called in a shallow voice.
I turned to look at him but he wasn't a man I recognized from the pack. How did he know I was the Luna then?
"The Alpha saved...me from Alpha... Leo... When you were...captured. Can you...can you please...save him?" The man said.
The hold he had on my leg loosened and I could tell that he was already gone. I bent down and I gently took his hand away from my leg. When I got up, I channeled my wolf to look for our mate.
Found him. My wolf told me and I sprinted in the direction he took me.
