CHAPTER 69

OLIVIA'S POV.
The Emerett's people moved out of the cage and I followed them at a safe distance, making sure that none of them spotted me. Ever since Emerett had taken me into his care and he and his people had done nothing but take care of me. Emerett made sure I never packed for a thing even once and his men treated me with respect. Even the books that Emerett never joked about, he had allowed me to borrow them times without numbers.
There was however one thing I had noticed about the group led by Emerett ever since I had arrived at the cave. Even though the men were very good werewolves who knew how to hunt for good meat, they always came back with little.
Although Emerett had given me a head up about how the other party called White Ice had always stolen the prey his men hunted for and even when I had monitored them and saw how they acted for myself, it had been a little bit hard for me to come up with the perfect plan for Emerett's men to accept me. But now I have the perfect plan.
I continued to follow the men so that I wouldn't lose them. When they spotted a deer and they stopped in their tracks, I hid behind one of the trees to shield myself from seeing them. I continued to watch as the men surrounded the deer and one of them shifted to his wolf form so that getting the deer would be very easy for them.
The deer tried to get away as it saw the wood in its front but since wolves were naturally fast, the killing of the deer was an easy-breezy thing for the werewolf. When the others saw that the deer was dead, they rejoiced and cheered the other man in while he shifted back and he dressed up again.
Emerett's men had barely finished their shout of jubilee over their kill when the White Ice men showed up at the scene. When I saw them, I smiled to myself because I knew that my plan was about fifty percent a success already. The other fifty percent required for complete success now solely depended on my dedication.
Much as I wanted to rush out to the scene and confront the mannerless White Ice men, I knew that I couldn't do that yet. If I wanted to increase my chance of success a little more, I needed to wait until they bullied Emerett's men and try to take that animal away forcefully as usual.
I continued to watch silently and patiently as arguments bred out between the two rogues men. In the end, White Ice men won over Emerett's men like they had always done. They too the animal and turned to leave. I waited until the dead animal was in their car before I stepped away from the spot where I had his all the while.
"Hey, you bullies!" I screamed at the White Ice men.
"Woman, just go away from this path of the wood if you know what was good for you." One of the White Ice men said to me. Another one of them made a shoo-away sign with his hands at me and I gritted my teeth at him.
"Olivia, what are you doing here?" One of Emerett's men asked me in shock.
I ignored him and focused my attention on the White ice men. The first person who had spoken to me looked at me with a lustful look in his green eyes.
"I'll tell you what's good for you, sweetheart. Come warm my bed for me tonight and I will feel so good and tired you won't have any energy to meddle in things that weren't your business." The man said to me.
My eyes flashed a tornado at him and I felt my wolf growling also. I chuckled as I responded that I wasn't the only one the words the fool had spoken had affected. How pathetic of him to think such?
"Shall we teach him a lesson?" I asked my wolf loudly. My wolf growled her approval and I chuckled. The green eyes man eyed me like I didn't know what I was doing or saying at all.
"Who on you think you are?!" The man shouted at me. "You are nothing but a weak girl." He finished in an angry voice. His already green eyes became two shades darker, giving his green eyes the perfect example of the definition of a lush forest with all its greenness.
"Well, I am a girl who saw what you did to these men. They caught the prey but you bad men tried to take it away from them forcefully," I shouted at the man.
"Oh, really? Well, news flash, baby doll. There is nothing you can do about it neither can they do anything either." The man said to me. He was the ringleader of the operation. He was also the bulkiest of them and I was sure that gave him the ego that no one could touch him or even hurt him.
"Olivia, let it go."
I heard someone say but ignored the voice and whoever had spoken. I knew that I had started this because I wanted Emerett's men to accept me but with the arrogant and cocky way the green-eyed man had acted, I wanted to teach him a lesson he wouldn't forget.
"I demand to see your leader," I commanded the White Ice men.
"And do what, eh? Give him some blow jobs?" Another man asked and the rest of his men laughed.
"I. Said. I. Want. To. See. Your. Leader," I gritted out to them, making sure I stress every word.
"Know your place, woman. You..."
One of the men started but the green-eyed man raised his hand in the air to stop the words when he saw that I was dead serious.
"You seriously want to see the leader? Well, then, you have to fight with me first. Let me remind you though, I won't go easy on you just because you are a woman." He told me while eyeing me.
My wolf jumped for joy when she heard the challenge the man had issued. The man had just made a terrible mistake even if he didn't know it yet.
"I accept your condition," I announced to the man.
"Are you looking for a death wish woman?" One of the White Ice men shouted at me from the group.
"Bring it on," I told the bulky man and I took a warrior stance.
When he and the rest of the men saw that I was serious, every one of them formed a circle and left me and the bulky man in the center. I nearly laughed when the green-eyed man raised his shoulders at me in an attempt to scare me.
How long should we play with him? I asked my wolf.
A minute. My wolf said, sounding bored already.
How about we increase it to two minutes? I need to have a little fun. I explained my wolf.
I'll try not to make him fail as a man until two minutes later. Remember, I'm only trying and not promising. My wolf reminded me.
Before I could respond, the man I was to fight with launched a swift blow to my chest. I felt air evaporate from my lungs and I doubled over. My wolf got angry at the fact that the man had attacked me without alerting me.
When I got my breath back, I felt the energy of my wolf mount up and before I would remind her that she had promised to let the chance last for two minutes, I dealt a blow to the bulky man's stomach. The man fainted instantly and I winced. So much for a fight that should have lasted for two minutes.
"What an excellent fight. I don't think I have witnessed one like it in such a long time."
I heard an angelic voice from behind me and I turned back. I saw some of the men from White Ice bow their heads in respect to the most beautiful man I had ever seen. Long whitish hair, high cheekbones, straight and pointy nose, shining forehead, and the most golden eyes she had ever seen made up the man. Without being told, I knew that the man was the White Ice rogue leader.
"Who are you?" I asked the man as a formality anyway.
"I could tell from your expressions that you already knew who I was.' The man said with a laugh.
"Sorry, not sorry," I told the man with a shrug.
"Please, may I invite you over to our cave as a guest?" The man asked.
"I wanted to see you anyway. So, let's go," I told him.
The man turned around and led the way and I followed gingerly. From the sounds of boots that followed after me, I could tell that both the White Ice men and Emerett's men followed behind us also. Through the time it took to get to the house, no one said a word to another. If someone had been looking for the traveling party of the deaf, I was sure the person would have thought that their search was off if they came across us.
We finally got to the cave the man said and I was astonished to find out that the dwelling of the White Ice men wasn't even far from the dwelling of Emerett men. By right, they should have been friends despite being from different sects of rogues. But who knew if something horrible had happened between the two parties before?
"My lady, please sit." The leader told me respectfully while he pointed to a seat in the cave. I took his advice and I sat down on the chair. When the beautiful man saw that I was seated, he sat down on the chair directly opposite mine.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw two of the men carrying the man I had knocked out a few minutes before into the inner part of the cave and I chuckled mischievously.
"My lady." The leader called and I wiped the grin away from my face.
"Yes?" I answered hesitantly.
"May I ask you which pack you are from?" The man asked.
I became lost for a minute and didn't say anything. Which pack was I from? Simple as the question was, I didn't find it any easier to answer. I knew that the answer to the simple question should have been Black Shrout but I didn't feel like I ever belonged to that pack. Then?
"Black Shadow pack," I finally answered him.
"Alpha Julian's pack?" The man asked like he was awestruck.
"You know him? That's beside the point anyway. I'm here to talk to you about how your men had been oppressing Emerett men and stealing the prey the men hunted for," I told the man.
I had expected him to put up a fight in support of his men, so his next words surprised me.
"You are right, my lady. They were wrong about their behaviors and I promise to reprimand them." He said.
"Do you mean it?" I asked him, to be sure that what I heard was right.
The beautiful man got up from his seat and faced the men, consisting of both his men and his men, who stood in the room.
"From today onward, whichever group is the first to get a prey owns the prey killed. Unless the two groups did teamwork, I don't want any of the White Ice men to intercept the Emerett men. Is that taken?" He addressed the people.
"Yes, leader." The men chorused in unison.
I exhaled loudly and stood up also to address the group.
"From today on, I promise on the behalf of Emerett men that none of them would try to hinder you from hunting for your catch or try to steal them from you either," I told them.
"In that case, I think both groups are good with each other." The leader said.
Rather than sit down back as the leader expected, I looked at him and spoke.
"This is where we part ways," I told him.
"There's one more thing, my lady." The leader said in a serious tone.
I lifted my eyes and stared at him in wonder about what else he could want from me.
