CHAPTER 7

He stood over the dead woman, the memories rushing back into him so fast he had to sit down to catch a breath.
Nothing was making sense anymore. His head hurt so bad as the flashes got worse. This time, he let them take him.
*Time: Unknown*
He slammed the hoe down and the wood split clean in half. He started humming an old song he learnt from his father. His ears pricked up as he heard footsteps particular to Noelle, the love of his life.
He let his lips lift in a smile as he straightened, turning around to face her. "I am quite afraid of whoever you are thinking of while doing that." She said, brows arched.
He laughed, giving her a smile. "It's no one, trust me." She smiled that soft smile of hers, the one that only he knew. "You sure? You seemed so concentrated."
He dropped the hoe, letting his eyes drift to the sky. It was almost time. He knew it, and she did too. "We should start going to the tree." "I am not in a hurry, Noelle." He smiled at her, trying to soothe her fears despite how much his was rising.
"I am not in a hurry either, but you know the rules. you need to be more careful." Noelle folded her arms, and Alex was able to detect irritation off her. "Noelle." "You haven't heard the rumors, have you?"
She knew he had, but he just shrugged. "I am not going to let anyone take me away from you or the tribe. Trust me." "That's the point. You think your powers are enough to save you?! They are powerful, yes. You are different, yes. But what if they ambush you? What if you can't scream?"
Her eyes were getting wild with fear and he could feel his wolf getting restless. Alex calmed him down, moving closer to her. "I know." "You don't. You don't know anything. You don't know anything."
She was freaking out and it was slowly getting on his nerves. She needed to understand that he was not her father and he would never be her father. Her father died because of his pride and lack of negligence. He was better than that. He always thought things through before jumping into them.
He sighed, grabbing her hand. "Let's go to the tree." She didn't move and he had to tug on her hand before she could even start moving.
Alex didn't know when he fell in love with Noelle. It was something that happened inexplicably and it was also very wrong. Neither of our wolves had called each other mates, but they accepted each other's presence.
Noelle would always tell him it meant we were not natural mates, but we were something different. We were something special. Just like he was.
He didn't want to say anything to disappoint her so he always agreed with her. The tree started to show in the distance and he felt his elly turn to lead.
It was one thing to be the strongest wolf alive. It was another thing to have no idea what happened to you in the night. One night, Alex had tried staying up all night, but it didn't stop the curse from taking effect.
He was awake and was fully aware, but his memory still left him. Alex didn't know what they did to him to help me retain my memory. But he knew it had to do with the tree and the book his father always held.
His dad was already at the foot of the tree, watching them walk up to him. "Good evening, son, Noelle."
Noelle nodded, running into his arms. Noelle and his Dad had a special relationship, one that even Alex got jealous of sometimes. It was one of the reasons Noelle got so worried for him constantly, because his dad always did.
Alex's dad always told him the moon goddess spoke to him after his birth, but whenever he asked him for what she said, if she ever told him anything, he always told Alex she said he shouldn't know. That his path was going to be built on his choices.
He thought it was bullshit. He smiled at his dad, rubbing his shoulder. "I was just telling him about the rumors. He is refusing to take his life seriously. He is saying that they can't take him. Talk to him, baba."
My dad gave me those eyes, the eyes every member of the clan called his scary eyes. Alexander's dad wasn't an alpha, he was a full blood omega, and yet, he had perfected the alpha stare so well it scared even him. "You don't take your life seriously, and it would be your demise."
Alex was wrenched from the scene, which felt so vivid it was he was experiencing it in real time. Killian stood over him, eyes narrowed. "What the fuck happened to you?"
Alex wanted to rip out the Alpha's throat, but he held his wolf in check and smiled at him. "Someone attacked us. I managed to kill him." Killian's eyes flickered, moving back to Joyce's dead body. "And where is his own body?"
Alex shrugged. "I couldn't care less." Killian lifted his hand and before it came down on his face, Alexander grabbed it and glared at him. "What the fuck? What gives?" Killian pulled his hand out of his grip and started walking towards the door.
"It's a good thing you are okay. You must stay here." Alexander didn't get a chance to say anything else as Killian shifted in record time and bounded out the door.
Alexander ignored him, trying to start a scene again to no avail. The night bliss. They had started this. Alexander tried to remember what the scroll had said about them.
The Night bliss was the wealthiest of all the Seven tribes, they had magnificent buildings with mind-blowing architecture. They were very good Merchants, The Night Bliss did business both day and night, did not care about the weather nor Season, they were always traveling with their Caravan; trying so hard to be the wealthiest in their community, with money came pride and respect and every individual in this tribe needed to have immerse money to be respected. Their Women tried to keep up with the men and for this reason, they were also seen as very expensive to keep but they were beautiful so nobody cared about the money and only their tribe could take in a woman from the Night Bliss.
He rubbed his head, trying to tone out the noises of war cries and bloodshed he was hearing outside. It wouldn't do him any good to focus on it. He had to find a way to get out of here. Now he had his memories back, no one was going to use him as a puppet.
Killian knew something was wrong with his prized possession. He also knew that Alex had killed Joyce.
"You think something happened when we left? Maybe she tried to hit on him and it didn't work out."
Killian agreed with his wolf, but he sensed there was something more that happened. He ran over to help one of his tribe members stand up, guiding them to a part of the forest where they wouldn't be seen.
He was at least grateful that Alexander was up because it meant he could protect himself. He already had enough on his plate trying to fend off the warriors that just kept coming.
He understood their reasons. He did everything he could to get Alexander Firadus on his team, and he would do everything he could to keep it that way.
Alexander's flashes were getting worse. He closed his eyes, breathing slowly. When he opened them, he was standing in a field. A field that was clearly ruined by fire.
At his feet, he saw hands. countless bloody hands that made a mountain so high he had to lift his head.
He looked over to the side and saw a tree. The tree he constantly met his father under. The tree where he and Noelle first made love. No.
"You did this to us. You killed us. You are a monster just like them." He recognized the burnt body of Noelle crawling out of the mountain of hands. He felt bile climbing up his throat and he shook his head.
No, I was manipulated. That wasn't me.
But it didn't stop the screams from that night from crossing his head. Alexander moaned, pressing his head against the heel of his wrists. Everything was coming in full force.
'He did a good job. Alexander the Great, or so they call him. I had to see for myself, they were all dead,"
'Yes. I agree with the alpha. He's good. But, he wouldn't have killed his tribe without some little manipulation of our own."
'Yep. That witch knows how to do her job. Cheers to us, for winning."
The voices began to overlap one another, resounding in his head. He grabbed his head with his hands, screaming.
Make it stop. Make it stop.
His wolf was whining, moving around in his head without direction.
