Chapter hundred and forty seven

Oliver

I was surrounded by blood again. But I didn't ponder on the fact. Not when there were so many of them.

I didn't know how many Brothers I'd shot ever since this started and I didn't bother to count. I just continued shooting. .

I'd seen Dallas slipped away with Jenna when the gunshots started. I hoped they made it out. I couldn't think of any alternative.

I hadn't seen Ron either. He had managed to slip away while I was distracted. I hoped he hadn't gone after them.

It seems likely since he just learned that his daughter had betrayed him. He would probably go after them just to kill Jenna. I couldn't shake off the feeling that something had gone very wrong. I just needed to get out of here and be sure they made it to safety. Killing Ron and Mandy can wait.

I couldn't see Xavier either. His grunted sounds through the earbuds was the only confirmation that he was alive. I didn't bother to distract him by asking if he had seen Dallas and Jenna.

I was nearing one of the exits I had studied on the map and I was almost out of bullets. I needed to reload my gun very soon. I took cover behind a wall to do just that when I spotted Lucien trying to sneak out.

For the first time since the gunshot started, I felt a huge sense of satisfaction. He hasn't spotted me yet, he seem to be focused on sneaking away.

I advanced towards him, my steps silent against the concrete floor. For someone that was trying to escape, he wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings. He didn't even notice me approach him.

I caught up with him and grabbed him by the collar. I clamped my hand over his mouth to stop him from screaming. Not that anyone would come to his rescue anyway.

“Remember what I promised to do when I catch you?” I whispered coolly into his ears.

I relished in the way his body froze at the sound of my voice. He knew exactly what promise I meant.

I released his collar and he tried to run. He managed to take a few steps before falling flat on his face. He whirled towards me, his face white with fear as he saw me.
“I'm so..rry, Oli..ver. They threaten..ed me. I..I had no option. Pl..ease for..give me. I didn't want to touch her. Y..you have to believe me.” He stuttered, tears gushing out of his eyes.

“Of course, I believe you, Lucien.”

His face seem to sag with relief. That was until he heard my next words.

“But you have to believe me too when I say I don't go back on my promise.”

I cocked my gun and shot him between the eyes, exactly where I shot his hologram figure few hours ago. His face was frozen in a scream as he fell down dead.

I watched his dead body for a few seconds, a part of me wishing I had made his death more torturous. He didn't deserve such an easy death after what he put Dallas through.

I sighed when I realized my gun had ran out of bullets now. I made to reload it when I heard a voice that made me still.

“My little Ollie has become so vicious.” Mandy's voice came behind me.

I whirled towards her and aimed my gun at her. It was pointless because the thing had run out of bullets. She seem to notice that as she smirked knowingly.

For the first time in twenty years, the woman in my nightmares was standing in front of me. Several emotions coursed through me at the sight of her. The most burning one was anger.

Mandy had changed completely. She looked like a different person, but the voice was unmistakably hers. I would never forget that voice.

I suspect part of the reason she was able to survive this long undetected was because of her numerous plastic surgeries.

I forced down the memories the sound of her voice threatened to pull up. Ron had made me relive my worst nightmares again. It no longers scares me now.

“So you took on a new face. Too bad you still look ugly with it.” I said.

“Is that the way to speak to your nanny whom you haven't seen in years? You wound me, Ollie.” She pouted.

I decided to keep her talking so I could subtly reload my gun. I knew Mandy well enough to know what will make her lose herself. And I was willing to bet that nothing had changed in her aside her face.

“Well, if said nanny tried to burn me alive after sexually harassing me, then yes.” I said, making sure she sensed the anger in my tone.

She tipped her head back and laughed as if I just told a very funny joke. My jaws clenched in annoyance but I didn't let my hands falter behind me, nor did I make any sound that would give away what I was trying to do.

“I see, you're still telling yourself that. The both of us know you enjoyed yourself during those days, Ollie. You're trying to convince yourself otherwise so you don't feel guilty. But it's okay to admit that you liked it. I liked it very much too. And I would like for us to be that again now that you're all grown and packed with muscles.”

She ran her tongue over her lower lip and bit down in a seductive way, but it only made me angrier. She was a fucking waste of space and I wanted to kill her. But I wasn't going to make the same mistake I did with Lucien and give her an easy death. She deserves to fucking suffer before I put her bullet in her head.

I patted my sides to see that all my blades were intact.

“You're right, Mandy. I did enjoy it. And I've been lying to myself all these years because I feel guilty about it.” I made sure my words sounded believable.

I studied her fake face and saw it full of amusement. She tilted her head to the side, but kept her hands within easy reach of her gun.

I ran my eyes over her body, checking for any other weapons she might have, but found none. I guess she didn't need much weapon since she was a high ranking assassin.

She bit her lower lip harder and her smile widened when I brought my eyes back to her face. She probably thought I was checking her out.

“But not as much as I am going to enjoy killing you.” I said and pointed my gun at her.

She sighed as if it was an hassle. Within the blink of an eye, she had moved from where she as standing and knocked the gun out of my hand.

I staggered back, shocked at the sudden loss of my weapon. I tried to hide my shock but she had already seen it, judging by the grin on her face. Within a second, she had her gun pressed on my temple, chuckling.

“You think I wouldn't notice you trying to reload your gun. Boy, I've been an assassin longer than you've been alive. That was a completely rookie move.” She said chuckling.

I stumbled back and she gripped my arm tightly.

“Now that you've got me, what are you going to do?” I asked, my voice raspy.

I forced a little bit of fear into my voice.

“Now, we're going to have fun. Just like old times. I'm going to make you forget all about your red haired woman, Ollie.” She whispered.

Her body was so close to me now. So close that I could snap her neck if I want to.

“Well, that sounds fun. But you'll have to get out of here first, don't you think?” My gaze turned menacing as I stared at her.

Before she could realize what was happening, I pushed myself against her hard, shoving her against the wall. The gun fell out of her hand and clattered to the floor.

I immediately removed of my blades and impaled her against the wall. My hand went to her throat. I squeezed tight, cutting off her air supply while also twisting the knife inside her.

“For someone who's been killing people for so long, you sure don't know how to avoid a trap.” My lips curled into a smirk.

Real fear shone in her eyes as she finally realized what happened. I had put on a show of attempting to shoot her so she could get this close. And she had fell for it so easily it was embarrassing.

She clawed at my hand as blood gurgled out of her mouth, but I only tightened my grip.

“I've dreamed about this moment millions of times over the past two decades. But I never thought I'd get the chance since you were technically dead. You don't know how glad I am that you're still alive.”

I pulled out the blade from her stomach, but still kept my hand in her throat.

“That was for my father. He died in that warehouse because of you.”

She was bleeding a lot by now but I didn't care. I rammed the blade into her stomach again, tearing open a new wound.

“This is for daring to touch my woman.”

Her grip on my arm had slackened now and I knew she was on death's door. It would only be minutes now, but I wasn't done with her yet.

I pulled out my blade one more time and stabbed her in the chest, right where her dark heart was.

“And that was for me.” I said.

I removed my hand from her throat and stepped back as her dead body fell limp on the floor. I walked over to my gun and picked it up.

“See you in hell, bitch.” I said and shot her corpse.

When I was certain there was no chances of saving her, I stood up and made my way towards the exit. I hadn't stepped out when I heard a heart wrenching scream.

Dallas.
