Chapter eighty five

Dallas.

“Never have I ever done something illegal?” I asked. All six of us raised our glasses and took the shots.

The game started about thirty minutes ago and I've downed about five shots, Lisa and Ethan took all the shots, while this is the first time Oliver raised his glass. Aside Oliver, Heather and Xavier took the least shots. About three each.

“So it's no to ‘skipping classes’ and ‘going against your parent's order’ but it's yes to ‘doing something illegal’? I directed my question to Oliver, an eyebrow raised.

“Yes, little monkey.” He brushed the few strands of hair on my face off and tucked them behind my ear.

“Them too?” My eyes darted to Ethan and Xavier across the table. “Do I even want to know the illegal things you've done?”

“You do not.” Ethan answered and grinned. The rest nodded in agreement.

“Heather you too?”

She is really gentle. It's almost hard to believe she could do anything that's against the law.

“Don't look so shocked. I've made plenty of bad decisions before.” She chuckled.

Ethan threw a glance at her and downed a shot. Heather did the same. The four of us exchanged glances but we didn't say anything. There was obvious tension between the both of them.

“Never have I ever flipped off a police officer while driving above speed limit?” Lisa yelled.

Ethan, Lisa, and I cheered and took a shot each. Oliver gave me a ‘really’ look and I laughed.

“Should I be concerned about your best friend's character? She's taken every shot.” He muttered.

I laughed so hard that my stomach start to hurt.
“You should be concerned about the drunk me.”

“Already am.” he muttered.

“It's my turn.” Heather said. “Never have I ever been an annoying son of a bitch?”

“Well, I like to think myself as sweet and entertaining. So, no.” Ethan shrugged.

“I've been called ‘annoying’ many times.” Lisa took a shot. I did the same.

“You should drink to that.” I said to Oliver.

“So you think I'm annoying?”

“Me and ninety nine percent of the world's population.” I rolled my eyes.

“Pretty sure you won't find me annoying in a few minutes when I hurl you away from here and fuck your brains out. You can tell me how annoying you find me after then.” He smirked, his breath slowly caressing my face.

A blush crept on my cheek, my breath becoming heavy. I pictured him doing exactly that. A slight gasp escaped my lips. I wanted him. Right fucking now.

“Alright, my turn.” Ethan's voice broke the ‘Oliver induced’ trance I was in. “Never have I ever had sex or experimented with the same gender?”

He immediately took a shot. Of course, he has. I'm not even surprised. Heather threw one look at him and took a shot, her nose cringing. She was clearly drunk.

“Does a kiss count?” I asked.

“Well, it's part of experimenting, so yeah.”

“Oh fuck it!” Lisa and I took a shot.

Xavier's brows shot up, his eyes darting between Lisa and I. He tore his gaze away and shook his head.

“You're next, Xavier.” Ethan said.

“Never have I ever wanted something I can't have?” His jaws flexed, his hand fisted the glass. He took two shots before setting his glass down. He dragged his gaze around as if expecting someone else to do so.

I threw a glance at Oliver. My chest tightened as I remembered what happened at the mall earlier today. No matter how much I convinced myself not to think about it, I do. I might have him now, but he will definitely be with someone like her. Someone who fits his image perfectly. He's not really mine.

I downed the content of the glass, swallowing hard and hoping it'd push away my self loathing. It didn't.

“You're one of the richest man in the whole world. What could you possibly want that you can't have?” Lisa asked, tilting her head forward. She has definitely had too much to drink.

“Someone else has it.” He replied.

“Well then, take it from them. Forcefully, if you have to.” She leaned back into her seat and giggled.

Yup, totally wasted.

“Oh, I've got a good one.” She sat upright and leaned forward. “Never have I ever been in love?”

No one bothered to tell her it wasn't her turn yet, we were all too stunned by the question. No one raised their glasses as we exchanged looks.

I fought the urge to glance at Oliver's side or acknowledge the emotion that's heavy on my chest. I found myself holding my breath for no reason.

“No one? Arghh! You guys are boring. I'll just drink.”

She raised her glass and was about to take a sip when Xavier snatched it from her.

“You're drunk. I'll take your shot.” He poured the content into his mouth and slammed the glass on the table, a little harder than necessary.

I saw Ethan lift his glass from my peripheral vision but I couldn't focus on what he was saying. A strange feeling settled on my chest, making it hard to breath. I felt the sudden urge to throw up.

“Excuse me, I need to use the bathroom.” I sprung up, not waiting for anyone's reply.

I sprinted towards the main house, fighting the urge to slow down and throw up. I ran straight to the bathroom and threw up everything in my stomach.

I dragged my feet to the hand tub and flipped the faucet on. I washed my hands and my face. I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror. My makeup was ruined, I looked so horrible. I blinked back the tears that threatened to fall from my eyes.

It's just a stupid game. So what if he doesn't love me? It's not like I love him too. I'm definitely not interested in being in a long term relationship with him. What we have now is good. Asking for more is stupid and completely reckless.

He is meant to be with someone like Jenna, not me. I shut my eyes and took a few breath, pushing me the ugly feelings crawling in my chest away. When I felt in control of my emotions again, I stepped out.

Oliver was standing in the hallway. His eyes locked immediately the door clicked shut. He took quick strides towards me.

“Are you feeling okay now?” he cupped my cheeks in his hands, his eyes laced with worry.

I fought every nerve in my body that urged me to scream at him or throw a tantrum. That was the alcohol.

“I'm fine.” I flashed him a smile. “Besides what are you doing here? You should be at the party outside.”

“I came to check on you. You looked upset.”

“I'm fine, just felt a little nauseous. Let's go back outside.”

“Actually, I have a better idea.”

I arched an eyebrow.

“We have just few minutes until your birthday is over and I'm still yet to give you a present.”

My brows knitted in confusion. I wasn't expecting extra gifts from him after everything he did for me. We spent quite lot during our outing today. What other gift could be talking about?

“Gift?” I asked.

He smiled and pulled me closer to himself. We walked up the stairs and strolled the hallway. We stopped in front of one of the guest rooms lined the hallways. I hardly go into that room. It's the farthest from the stairs and close to Oliver's private library.

He pushed the door opened and nudged me inside slightly. I strolled in, still wondering what was going on. He flipped on the switch and my jaws hit the fucking ground.

“Oh my God,” was the only thing I could say.
