Chapter ninety two
Oliver
I strolled into the house, I folded the envelope in my hand and tucked it into my pocket. I need to get this over with and apologize to Dallas for everything I've put her through these past few days.
Ethan's words from earlier echoed at the back of my mind but I pushed it back. I can't lose her. I won't. I can't imagine what my life would be like without her. Without seeing her bright smile, or her green eyes light up when she sees me, or watch her try to paint something and fail.
She's been determined paint something for me ever since the gift I made for her on her birthday. Dallas Valencia might be perfect at most things, but painting was definitely not one of them. She's a horrible artist. But I made sure to collect all of her failed painting and store them in my studio. It added a little chaos to my creations but it was perfect.
The memory of it brought a smile to my face. I didn't even know how I survived so long without knowing her. I've gotten so use to her that even the grossest things are endearing to me. Like how sweaty she gets after she finishes training. She still hasn't said anything about whether she'd continue being an instructor or she'd enter into a competition.
Now that Atlas left Valhalla, there was an opening for a new instructor. It'd be easier for her to accept the offer if she wanted. People already knew her there.
I remembered how silent she became when I told her about it. I hadn't pushed her to make a decision and just told her I'd be there for her if she was ready.
I spotted Dallas walking out of the kitchen with Heather trailing behind her. She hasn't noticed me yet. I took quick strides towards her. Heather saw me first and quietly slipped back into the kitchen.
I wrapped my arms around her from behind, burying my face into her neck. I took a sharp inhale of her scent. Cherry.
“You're back,” she said.
“I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I'm really sorry for everything. I'm sorry for putting you through this.”
She spun around and faced me, a frown appearing between her eyebrows.
“Putting me through what?” Her tone was laced with confusion.
I pulled her closer and locked my lips with hers. She tasted like chocolate mixed with something sweet. My new addiction. She tasted like mine. Our tongues danced in a slow rhythm, the movement sending a straight jolt to my cock.
God, everything about this woman turns me on. Suddenly the clothes felt like a barrier and I itched to peel them off and take her right there. Xavier was right. I am crazy about her.
I pulled away just before I acted on those thoughts. I don't mind anyone seeing us here. It's my house after all. But I needed to do go ahead with my plan and fix it before it gets worse. Before she contemplated leaving me, because God knows, I can't handle that. I will tie her to myself if I have to.
A small gasp of protest escaped her lips when I pulled away and I contemplated my decision.
“Trust me, little monkey. I want nothing than to spread your legs and fuck you till your screams echoed throughout the house, but I can't right now.” I let out a heavy exhale.
“Why? Afraid someone would walk in on us?” She tugged closer and rubbed herself against me.
“You know that has never stopped me before.”
My cock hardened with each movement of her body against mine. I groaned, feeling my control slipping away. I placed a hand on the wall to balance our weight.
“God, you really need to stop doing that. I need to go.” I groaned.
“You don't get to grab me unaware and make me want you, only to leave me for work.” She whispered into my ear and moaned.
“No, that's not…” I groaned when I felt the slickness of her underwear through my pants. Her skirt has hiked up, baring her smooth thighs.
“I…I need to fix something. I'll be back soon. I promise.” I struggled to string words together.
She stopped rubbing herself against me, but her arms were still wrapped around me. We stood there for what seems like a long time, just breathing in each other's air. It was everything I needed and more.
I finally pulled away and backed up a few steps. The lust in her eyes was mixed with an emotion similar to…admiration before it quickly disappeared. She sighed softly.
“Do you really have to go now?”
I could sense the disappointment in her tone. I felt s sudden ache in my chest. I would do anything to bridge the distance between us. I would fix this.
“Yes.” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. “But I'll come find you later. I promise.”
She swallowed hard and gave me a nod. I flashed her a smile before heading upstairs to the west wing. That's where Jenna's room is. I made sure it was as far from Dallas's and my room.
I made sure to confirm from Tabitha if she was in before coming here. I contemplated summoning her into my office but I couldn't wait anymore. I needed her out today. This is the only way.
I placed a gentle knock on the door and tapped my feet impatiently at how long it was taking her to open up. I heard light footsteps approaching before the door flung opened.
“Mr Kang?” she called, her tone laced with surprise before a wide smile appeared on her lips. That was probably the first time I'm seeing her a full smile and not a small tilt of her lips.
“Ms Jang, I need to have a word with you.” I said, my voice firm and void of warmth.
“Okay. Come on in.” She stepped aside for me to walk in.
“Actually, here is fine. It'll be quick.”
It felt intimate to enter her bedroom even though it's my house. I couldn't do it.
“Oh,” I could swear that I sensed disappointment in her tone, but it disappeared as quickly as it came, replaced with her signature small smile.
“Okay then, let's talk.”
I dipped my hand into my pocket and brought out that carefully folded envelope. I stretched it forward, holding it by the tip so she wouldn't accidentally touch me. I don't think I can handle her touch yet. I don't even want to.
She accepted the envelope, careful not to touch me. She opened it and read the contract, a frown settling between her eyebrows as she scanned the paper with her hand.
“I don't understand.” She muttered.
The contract was well written and easy to assimilate. There's no way someone as smart as her wouldn't understand that. But still, I decided to explain.
“I added a few extra terms to our contract and I need your signature on the paper.”
“I can see that. I just don't understand why the new terms are necessary. I've maintained my side of our deal and haven't visited you until recently. Why is there s term that state that I'm not welcomed to stay overnight in your house even after we get married?” Her voice rose a bit above normal.
“As I've told you before, I like my personal space. I do not appreciate your recent visit at all and I'll like if you leave soon. I heard your father is in town. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just very particular about my privacy.”
Her face fell as she kept staring at the paper. I shifted my weight impatiently. I wanted her to just sign it and let get it over with. I needed to go back to Dallas and following through with my word.
“I'm the best shot you have at getting your parents off your neck. You sign this and we get married than you can have your undisturbed freedom. I wouldn't sort you out except when necessary. I wouldn't ask anything from you. I'll provide for you. Sign it.” I dipped my hands into my pocket and brought out a pen.
She scribbled her signature on the paper, pressing her lips together. Her gaze flickered to something behind me. A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips but it quicky disappeared. She handed the pen and paper back to me.
She opened her mouth and wanted to say something before stumbling forward. She tugged the edge of my jacket to gain her balance, her whole face buried in my chest.
The scent that filled my nostrils wasn't the usual cherry I was familiar with.
“I'm so sorry.” She muttered and stepped back, her eyes widened slightly.
Well, at least she didn't touch me. The girl I'm supposed to marry is clumsy. Understood.
“Try not to be so clumsy next time, yeah?”
I turned around and was about to walk away when something caught my eyes. Dallas was standing a few feet away. And from the way her eyes are glistening, she definitely saw Jenna trip and grab my jacket. And she has the wrong idea about what just happened.
Well, this didn't go like I planned at all.
