CHAPTER SIXTY TWO
OLIVER
My eyes darted to the watch strapped on my wrist. Just a few more minutes before it's ready.
My phone pinged, I pulled it out to read the text message.
“It's done, sir.”
A smile tilted at the corner of my lips and I dipped the phone back into my pocket. I leaned against the car door, my arms crossed, as I awaited my girlfriend's presence.
Girlfriend.
Never in my wildest dreams have I imagined myself with a girlfriend. It was a non-existent word in my dictionary.
But using the word with Dallas felt… right. It wasn't weird like I anticipated it would be, it was oddly comforting.
I knew what I felt for her wasn't the normal ‘feelings’ between a couple. My feelings for her go way deeper than that.
I'm attracted to her in an obsessive way. I crave her every second she isn't with me.
I wanted her. No. I needed her.
I have no idea when all these strange feelings started. I have never needed anyone in my entire life. But the idea of her not being with me swirls some undecipherable emotions, and makes me want to do questionable things.
And I can't stand the thought of seeing her with someone else. Not in the usual ‘jealous boyfriend’ nature, I feel the urge to kill anyone who comes close to her.
What I feel for her isn't normal. I wasn't sure if it was even socially acceptable. But if putting a label on it makes this a little bit normal, then so be it. All that matters is that she is mine.
My phone rang and I grinned widely as I saw the caller ID.
“You sure know how to make a man wait.” I said immediately I clicked the answer button.
A soft chuckle sounded from the other end.
“A lady's makeup takes time, mister.”
“I don't understand why you bother with it. You look beautiful even without it.” I said truthfully.
A long pause followed my statement.
“Well, thank you for the compliment. But I'll have you know I look really flushed right now so I have to restart the make-up.”
I drew a long sigh. I couldn't even get mad about having to wait another extra hour or two. I never wait for people. But I'd do anything for her.
“Make that double your punishment tonight, little monkey. For every minute you make me wait, I'll spank your ass. I'll fuck your brains out and make you come several times till you beg me to stop.” I said.
“Christ! I was kidding. Don't be such a caveman. I'm almost outside.” she said and chuckled, but her voice sounded a bit throaty, almost as if she was awaiting her ‘punishment’.
I found myself wondering if she got aroused by my words and how aroused she might be. My cock twitched at the image.
This girl would be the literal death of me.
My eyes darted to the entrance and a certain organ inside me stopped as I saw her emerge from the house.
She wore a red jumpsuit paired with a black ripped jacket that added an edge to her look. Her striking red hair was styled in a high ponytail, with a few loose strands framing her face effortlessly.
“You said to dress casually.” She said, a sheepish smile on her face.
I was so lost staring at her that I didn't even realize she had gotten that close to me.
I just stood there and stared at her, my lips slightly parted.
“God, you look…”
“Bad? I told Heather not to go extra with the make-up, but she wouldn't listen.” Something similar to panic flashed across her face.
“What? No!” I said sharply.
“You look so beautiful.”
A faint blush crept on her cheeks.
“Thank you. You look really good too.” She said genuinely.
I was in a casual t-shirt and pants, nothing too special, but it felt comfortable.
I pulled her closer and placed a small kiss on her lips. She kissed me back and I was about to deepen the kiss when she pulled away.
“Date. We're running late.” She said, almost breathless, she still managed to wear a pretty smile.
Right. I almost forgot about it. I wouldn't mind canceling the entire thing I had planned for her today if it meant I get to have her, right here, right now. I truly can never get enough of her.
I drew a sigh. I opened the car door for her like a perfect gentleman that I'm totally not. She thanked me before stepping in. I got into the car and started it.
“Where are we going?” Dallas asked as I drove out of the mansion.
“You’ve asked that question about a million times and I've given you the same answer. It's a surprise.”
A surprise I hope you like. I shut out any conflicting thoughts that she might not like it. I knew she would like it. After all she'd said she wanted something similar. But knowing that did nothing to calm my nerves.
“Can't you give me a small hint?”
“If I did, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore.”
I threw her a glance and chuckled. Her lips pursued slightly as she stared at me expectantly.
I almost gave in, but I tore my gaze away from her face.
“Patience, little monkey. Just a few more minutes.”
.
.
.
I swerved the car into the parking lot of our destination.
“We're here.” I announced.
Dallas brows furrowed in confusion. She was probably wondering where this place was. The outside looks like someone's home.
“Don't worry, it'll all make sense soon.” I muttered.
Her expression eased into a smile. I brought out something and handed it over to her.
“A blindfold? You're not planning to kidnap me, are you?” she asked in a teasing manner.
There was no hint of fear in her voice.
“Just trust me, Okay?”
She accepted the blindfold and tied it loosely around her…
I went to her side of the car and swooped her in my arms bridal style. I walked into the place with Dallas clinging onto my chest, like her life depended on it.
The faint sound of water falling welcomed us as I stepped in. I set her down at the spot and gently removed her blindfold.
She slowly opened her eyes. Her mouth fell open as she dragged her gaze around.
“Oh my God!” She exclaimed. She brought her hands to her mouth.
The satisfactory look on her face was the only confirmation I needed.
It wasn't for nothing.
My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out to see a message from Xavier.
XAVIER: Stop putting this off. You need to deal with it immediately to avoid further consequences.
I ignored his text and put my phone back into my pocket. I knew how
important the ‘situation’, but there was nothing more important to me at the moment than the look on Dallas's face.
Work can wait.
