Young Lady
Adrian's POV.
Zack brought out a dagger; he was about to slit my throat with it. I was stunned; my body felt motionless, unable to move, making me feel the type of pain I have never felt before.
I struggled to stop him, but it was almost impossible, because it was like a very strong force was holding me back.
I closed my eyes expecting pain, then he stopped midair and crouched beside me. "Yes, this was the same thing I felt when I begged you to spare the lives of my parents, but you didn't."
I opened my eyes. I then heard the sound of a loud thud. I averted my gaze, and I noticed someone had fallen to the ground. She cried in pain, and she turned to look at me. I saw a young woman who seemed to be around my age. She had a slender figure, and her beautiful golden-hued eyes captured my attention. Her silky skin was out of this world, but she was smeared in dirt, like she had lived in a cage for a long time.
The young lady tried to stand up, but her legs were weak. Zack looked threatened, and she rushed towards the lady and attempted to use the dagger on her.
"I don't know who you are, bitch, but I won't let you come in between my revenge plan." He said in a hushed voice as he was about to slit her throat by wrapping his hands around her, "I don't know why I was scared; I don't want him to harm her," which was something I had never felt before.
"Please don't kill me. I don't mean any harm. I have been leaving here, and I don't mean to intrude. Please." Her pleas fell on deaf ears as Zack aimed at her throat, and she used her hand as a shield for it; the dagger landed on her bare skin, causing blood to seep out of it. She looked scared as she cried in pain.
I felt so much pain on behalf of the young lady; I felt I could help, but I was in too vulnerable a situation to even do anything.
He was fighting recklessly without letting the lady defend herself, which was something that angered me the most. He lunged at her, and that was when the young lady transformed into a silver wolf and also lunged at him. He managed to stab her in the tummy while she managed to sink her sharp fangs into his neck, causing blood to seep out as they both fell on the ground in pain. Zack became motionless, and so did the lady. After some minutes, I felt my body like it was released, but the stronghold that had once held me back from moving, and I rushed towards the motionless wolf.
With her silver fur radiating under the dim moonlight, she was perfect, despite being a wolf. My dragon whimpered seeing her in this state, and I was confused, not knowing what to do next.
She then slowly transformed into her human self as she lay lifeless on the ground. I don't know why, but I desperately want to help her. I carried her in my arms; the dagger was still inside her, making her weaker.
I took steady strides while still carrying her in my arms; she slightly opened her eyes while looking very weak.
"Keep me down." I had to obey her as I placed her on the bare ground. She swiftly stood up and stood in front of me, only to see more blood seeping out of her mouth.
"My lady..." I called out, and as she fell to the ground in a loud thud, I noticed another dagger was pierced behind her while Zack was weakly standing behind her, his eyes full of rage, and his clothes were covered in blood, making him look even more bloodthirsty. It was clear that he had aimed the dagger at me, but the young lady took the dagger in my place. I stared at her lifeless body on the ground while still wondering why she was ready to risk her life for me in the first place.
I felt my body weaken, my heart was pounding so fast, and my dragon had taken charge. Without thinking straight, I lunged at Zack. I could see the fear in his eyes, almost pleading for mercy.
"Please, don't kill me."
"When you are almost dead? The only thing is to finish the job." The dragon within me said, "Without a second thought, I pierced my sharp right straight into his heart," then he said something that made me stop.
"Now what's the difference between you and a monster?"
The thought of Garcia came seeping in. Recalling how she was an angel, taming the monster in me, and making me see the need to be better.
I immediately stopped as I landed a punch on his face. I moved closer to him and said, "You don't deserve my mercy, but I am sparing you because life is not all about revenge."
When I said that, I let go of him because I went to the young lady, carried her, and placed her on my back before I flew away with her. I decided to take her to the fountain of Jedi, which is believed to have the ability to heal.
I placed her in the water, letting the water cascade down her body, which cleansed the blood and the dirt, revealing more of her skin. Suddenly my dragon growled as he said, 'Mate.'
