Let Me Go
Garcia's POV
Zakuski walked up to me, and as he placed his hand against mine, his eyes stared; it was almost like he was scanning my soul. "I know you are hesitant about everything. I know that you don't love me enough to give me a chance, but I still cherish whatever we shared, so please just give me this week, and I promise I'll let you go."
'Please, let's give him this chance because I still care about him,' my wolf said softly.
I thought about Adrian and the lives he's putting at stake. I wanted to meet him desperately, but my wolf was insistent on staying back.
"Okay, but after a week I'm leaving."
"Yes, you are," he replied hurriedly. I took a deep breath before walking back, and then he immediately sent Emelia to prepare the dining for us. She left to do what I had instructed her to do; when she was done, she arrived to tell us.
He had gestured for me to dine; he had been smiling throughout the process. His eyes scanned mine. I took a deep breath, my heart pounding faster than normal pace. I was trying so hard to calm my nerves when he sat on the chair and suddenly removed his shirt, saying that the room temperature was high. I could see his abs, which made him look sexier. His head was soaked in his sweat, which made me admire him. I immediately concentrated on my food and ignored him.
He started eating, and then he turned to me and said, "I know the fact that you want to meet Adrian and..."
"Okay, that's enough. I can't continue pretending like this is okay anymore. I want to know why you are back in my life and why you had wiped away my memories only to come back and act like everything is okay," I cut him short.
He took a deep breath, and as he came to sit close to me, he wanted to place his hand against mine, but I immediately pulled my hand away. I noticed the way he looked embarrassed. "I'm sorry; I should have been more patient."
"Just answer the goddamn question."
"The truth is, I was a boy; I wasn't able to fight for what I cared for, and now I see the need to fight you and for us so I can be the person I failed to be."
"But..."
"Please don't ask any more questions; let's just enjoy this moment, okay?" He cut in as he fetched a spoonful of the food and gestured it towards my mouth. I averted my face away from him as I continued eating; he was still holding the spoon in his hand, but I couldn't care less.
When we were done eating, he suggested that we go for a walk. I was mentally exhausted; I just wanted some rest, so I declined. He didn't pressure me further, but it was clear in his eyes that he was not happy with my response.
I went to the room, lay on the bed, and closed my eyes. I tried communicating with Adrian while hoping that he would hear me, but I was unable to hear his voice, my heart pounding so fast as I tried to calm my nerves when I heard his faint voice, almost distant, 'Please come back to me.'
I was startled as I opened my eyes. I immediately changed my clothes and walked towards the door. I can't stay here for a whole week because I know Adrian needs me right now.
I hurriedly opened the door until I bumped into Zakuski; he looked like someone who had been standing by the door while eavesdropping.
Without saying a word I walked past him. "And where are you going?" He asked, slightly raising his voice. From the tone of his voice, it was clear he was trying to suppress his anger, but he was unable to.
"I'm going back to the kingdom. I can't stay here because Adrian needs me; he's in danger. I can feel it."
He stopped walking and stood in front of me, his eyes bored into mine. "Don't you understand that I also need you here?" Garcia, why are you making things difficult for me? It hurts knowing that you are here and yet you are thinking about somebody else. Please just stay this week. Is that too much to ask?"
I scoffed, looking at him with disgust. I hate the fact that my wolf wanted him even though I hated him. "After the people you slaughtered right in front of my eyes, there was no remorse. You managed to threaten me to come here, or you were going to kill Adrian, and you expect me to just be calm. How does that sound to you?" I swallowed a lump down my throat, trying not to cry, but I couldn't help it anymore.
I didn't care what he would say this time as I continued walking, because I know Adrian needs me more than ever now. Then suddenly he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his arms as he sealed his lips with mine. I felt his soft petal lips against mine. I should have restrained myself, but I found myself unable to stop him. I gave in. He pried his tongue into my mouth, sucking my tongue like it was the sweetest thing he had ever tasted. Then he pulled me closer by grabbing my ass cheeks. The kiss was so intense I almost forgot I was leaving until I heard the voice of Adrian again: 'I need you more than ever, Garcia. Please come back to me.' I immediately pulled away from him. I was panting, and my heart was racing. He had a smile on his face, a smile that indicated victory.
Then he wrapped his hand around mine and asked in a voice that clearly explained his emotions, "Why are you fighting this? Why are you behaving like you don't care while your wolf craves my touch, the same way I crave yours?'
"Y...you don't understand...it's com..."
"My lord, your presence is needed in the dungeon because the army has captured a dragon that was invading the kingdom," Emelia cut her shirt.
