She's partly demon
Isabella's POV.
The man had a frown on his face as he painstakingly stood up and zipped up his pants. He then walked away towards the door, and then the man who had stopped him walked to me and unlocked the chains; the pain slightly eased.
I was trying not to let down the burning tears that filled my eyes, because I couldn't help but recall when I had gone to my aunt for help, but she was the one who led me to the enemy's lair herself.
I realized that right now I'm on my own; I have to find a way to escape and go back to the origins of my mother, which is the South Coastal Pack. The man dragged me down the hallway, which seemed discarded. Suddenly I fell to the ground as I wriggled in pain. The man leaned closer to me while trying to help. Without a second thought, I wrapped my hand around his neck and twisted it. I let go of him when I was certain that he was no longer alive, then I started running away until I heard a voice behind me as it screamed, "Close the door; the prisoner is trying to escape."
I noticed more men lunged forward. I was scared, not knowing how to escape until I noticed a small opening to the right of my direction. I knew it was too narrow for my entire body to fit in, but I had to. I rushed towards the small opening, inserted my head, and crawled into it. I felt the sharp metal cut through my skin, but I had no other option than to try and find a way out of the situation by enduring the pain and continuing to crawl forward. When my body was almost completely inside, I felt someone grab my foot. He started pulling me back. I struggled to crawl forward, but the grip force was far stronger than I had anticipated. I used my available leg as I kicked him hard until he fell to the ground, then swiftly crawled forward until I fell to the ground with a loud thud. I looked around to see where I was. I noticed it was like an underground refuse dump. The place reeked of a foul smell, and there was evidence of rats scrambling in different directions. The place was dark, so I couldn't properly see the type of dirt disposed of there. I tried finding some means of light to get out of here before I was found, then a voice from the small opening I had crawled into said, "You don't need to be executed, bitch, because no one has ever jumped there and survived long enough to explain what happened to him."
I was trying to calm my nerves as I ignored him and continued with the search of trying to find my way out of here. When I was searching, I noticed a light torch on the ground. I picked it up and lit up the torch. My mouth hung open when I saw what lay ahead of me; there were multiple dead bodies scampering around. Some were decaying, and some had already decayed. I let out a horrifying scream as I started running without knowing where I was running to, and then I stumbled on a rock, which made me lose my balance until I landed on another body. I screamed in horror, crying my lungs out. I tried standing up, and I fell down. Then suddenly I felt someone grab my foot, which made me let out another scream. I looked down to see what just did that, and I let out another scream when I saw the hand of a man wrapped around my foot.
'P... please help me,' a voice whispered. I roughly pulled away my foot from his grip and wanted to start running in fear, then I heard his voice again, 'Please, help me.' The voice made me stop. I turned back towards the hand that had grabbed me; the hand twitched. Bodies were covering the body of the hand, so I shifted the bodies, and I saw the owner of the body; my heart sank when I saw Aries.
"W... what are you doing here?" I asked, my voice hoarse.
"Please help me; don't let me die here. My mother needs me." When he said "mother," my hand was clenched tightly into a fist because it was his mother I found myself in this situation with; Aries is the son of Aunt Theresa, and she handed me to the enemies.
Out of anger, I stood up and decided not to help, because if his mother can be evil enough to send me down here, why would I care enough to help his son?
"Please, Isabella, don't leave me. I'm begging you, please." How the pleading voice touched a place in my heart that I never knew existed, but the anger surging within me is far more painful to bear.
I continued walking, then I recalled the voice of my mother when I was young, the words that kept me sane throughout my youthful years living in that palace where I was never placed with much regard: 'Remember that you are half demon and half wolf, all showing that you came from lurking darkness, but I believe you are far more special. Just remember that everyone has darkness and light brewing inside of them, just waiting to ignite their flames, but always let the light ignite its flames brighter.' I felt my eyes glistening, my throat burning, and my clenched fist loosening. I found myself walking back as I helped Aries to his feet. He wrapped his hand around my waist, and he had an appreciative smile on his face as he said, "Thank you."
He was covered in dirt, reeking of a horrible odor, and his right foot was heavily bleeding, which made him heavier because he primarily depended on me to walk. I was also in pain because my right foot was badly injured and I was heavily bleeding; now we needed to find a way out of this place.
As we continued walking, we heard a whistling sound coming from the end of the long tunnel. It ignited hope within me, so we tried walking towards the sound, but it was like the whistling sound was becoming farther. We were almost giving up because we were already exhausted, but the encouraging words of my mom said within me, 'Sometimes the word our body screams is "give up," but allow our minds to be the driver, to tell our bodies to continue even though they don't.'
So I continued walking until we eventually saw a small light; it made me happy in unexplained ways. We heightened our pace until we reached the end of the tunnel.
The light shone brightly on our faces, and then we saw a small boy holding a whistle. He looked happy, and then he ran away, which baffled us. After some time, he arrived back with some people and said, "Another set of people just arrived."
There were two men and three women who were standing, as they stared at us, then one of the women walked towards us, took a whiff of our scent, and screamed in horror, "No, we can't help her; she has the demon blood running through her veins, but we can help this one; he's a complete wolf."
