Please Stop
Gracia's POV
I saw a man walk into the room; he had similar features to Zakuski. His gaze was intense as he walked towards Zakuski and whispered something in his ear. He clenched his fist tightly, so without a word, he pulled me into his arms and teleported me back to the kingdom, leaving me astounded.
I waited for what would happen next, and that was when I heard the painful cries of people and the sounds of footsteps as people ran away for their lives. I let out a painful scream of pain, wrapping my hand around my head, my head hurting so badly as I recalled the events that happened when I was in the pack and my dad sacrificed his life for me and my mom, how my mother was badly injured as we ran through the forest, and how my mother could no longer keep up, so she told me to run and leave her behind. It was the most painful decision I have ever made; the memories are still fresh in my head.
"No...no...no." I kept screaming in pain until Adrian barged into the room; his eyes searched the room frantically like he was looking for someone before he walked up to me and wrapped his hand around me as he encouraged me.
"I hope Zakuski hasn't found you."
"Please, let's leave this place," I begged, ignoring his question, because I didn't want him to worry knowing Zakuski had come here and left.
He helped me up to my feet as he walked out of the room; my mouth hung open in shock and pain when I saw the number of bodies lying on the ground in a pool of their own blood.
"How could he do this..." I muttered incoherently.
"Just follow me; I want you to be safe. I don't want anything to happen to you." He said as he took me to another room, which was high above. I swallowed a lump in my throat when he turned to leave.
"Please don't leave me; I'm scared."
"You have to understand that my men need me; I can't let them fight alone." Before I could protest any further, he left me alone in the room. I felt uneasy. For the first time in a long time, my wolf was really restless, like she knew something didn't just feel right, and that was when I heard a loud growl of pain. I looked through the window, and that was when I saw Adrian's aunt in her dragon form as she fought, but she was overpowered, and a man who had whispered something to Zakuski pierced a sharp sword into her without thinking twice. She growled, struggled, and whimpered in pain. I noticed more dragons were being killed, which made me fear the worst.
I noticed Adrian, who looked more powerful than the other dragon; he had black scales as he flapped his wings in the sky, spitting out fire. Suddenly, the strong urge to go out there to help him was there because I felt like something bad might happen to him. He was spitting out fire and killing as many demons as he could. Not until Zakuski came and stood on the battlefield, his eyes looking sharp and determined. His gaze made it clear that he had other plans. That was when he knelt down and started chanting incoherent words. A dark smoke appeared; it sucked in Adrian as he struggled to be free. He let out a loud growl, but no one could help. After a minute, he fell to the ground, clearly looking weak. Before anyone could do anything, other demons had already tied him using heavy chains. I noticed his skin burned with those chains. I looked closer, and I noticed that the chains were made out of bronze.
It took everything in me not to scream in protest.
I sat down on the ground, feeling so weak; another set of tears streamed down my cheeks, and that was when I noticed the dragon tattoo on my wrist slowly fading. The tattoo had appeared when Adrian had marked me; now it was slowly fading.
I made myself lose hope. Suddenly the sound of the door being hit with a tool alerted me. I lifted my gaze, my body trembling, and that was when I saw the young man who had whispered to Zakuski. He had a mischievous smile on his face as he walked up to me, his eyes clearly dangerous. He grabbed me as he roughly dragged me out of sight. I was taken to the courtroom; I was forced to crouch down on my knees. I noticed Zakuski was pacing back and forth; there was a frown on his face.
With tears in my eyes, I asked, "I thought you should be happy now that the kingdom is at your mercy."
He smiled, walked to me, and replied, "Yes, except you."
I spat at him, finding him more disgusting. I recalled the way he was, very charming and handsome; he had a side of him that I have always admired, and it made me fall so deeply for him, but now he has turned into a monster.
He stood beside Adrian, who was now in his human form; he was covered in bruises, and he seemed unconscious. He brought out a sharp sword, and he aimed it at Adrian, which made me let out a scream.
"Stop... please stop; don't touch him, please." I pleaded, my heart pounding so fast as I begged.
"I'll only stop if you go with me."
"That would be the last thing I'll ever do, Zakuski. You were a nice person; now you have turned into a monster that never existed."
"Okay, if you say so..." He said nonchalantly as he aimed the sword at his heart. I desperately wanted to keep silent, but I couldn't. I had to stop him again.
"Please just stop, I will... I will..."
"Please, don't do this for me..." The gentle voice of Adrian alerted me, making more tears stream down my cheeks.
I took a deep breath and struggled towards him. Zakuski watched in both rage and fascination. I gently placed my hand on his cheeks, making me feel more pain. "Please take care of everyone. You were better off without me in the first place, but I can't let anything happen to you."
I turned to Zakuski and said, "You can now take me."
