Marching To The Dragons

Zakuski's POV
"Marked!" The voice of my brother Jonathan echoed.
"Yes... Garcia allowed the bastard to mark her..." I paused, turning to look at Jonathan. "Please tell me, am I not good enough? Don't I also deserve to be happy?"
He let out a deep breath as he came close to me while patting my back. "But you knew that you were the one who had abandoned her when she needed you the most."
I clenched my hands into tight fists, because he was not helping matters; his words made things more unbearable for me.
"Please, I'll need you to leave; I have so many things on my head right now."
"But..."
"I said leave, Jonathan; don't make me repeat myself."
He sighed as he walked towards the door and twisted the doorknob. He suddenly stopped to look at me one last time before he said, "This is the moment your kingdom needs you; we need you to be rational." When he said those words, he turned to leave.
I was standing by the door, my heart racing so fast. I stared at the mark that was once beautifully embedded on my hand, and now it was no longer there. I felt tears burn, and I swallowed the lump down my throat. I don't want to cry because I know that despite everything I am going to bring her back to myself, even if it means I have to use force. I am not going to give up on her, even if she decides to choose Adrian over me.
I took steady strides towards the door and walked out as I went to the training grounds, where I found some of the demons were practicing and others were engaging in combat with each other while showcasing their unharnessed powers.
Immediately they saw me, and they stopped what they were doing as they turned to look at me. They look amazed, like they didn't expect to find me here.
I stared at them with a look of determination. "We have been practicing for ages, and yet we have never used our strength against a kingdom, so today I want to let you all know that we will be using our strength against the one people that have derived joy in making our people suffer, which are the dragons. We will march there tomorrow morning and show them who we truly are." I said, my voice loud and clear for everyone present there to hear; most of them cheered in response, but some looked disheartened, and some stared in confusion.
"But my lord, the dragons have done nothing wrong to us, and besides, we don't have enough weaponry and a plan against the dragons, because a single dragon can wipe out the entire demon army with a blow of its breath."
I clenched my hands into fists, because since I became a ruler, no one has ever dared talk to me like that. I walked towards the man who said that statement, and I asked, "And what is your name again?"
"Mark."
"Okay, Mark, how about we do this: when a leader is talking, questions are not meant to be asked without permission."
"But..."
Before he could complete his sentence, I sliced his throat using my long and sharp nails. He fell to the ground while gasping for air, as blood pooled on the ground.
Everyone gasped when they saw what I just did. "Does anyone have any more questions?"
Immediately there was pin-drop silence. "Good, and that's what I expect."
I went back to where I was standing as I repeated myself, telling them to get ready as soon as possible because we would be marching very early in the morning. They all chorused, "Yes, Lord," in unison, which brought a satisfactory smile to my face, and then I turned to leave for my room, where I'll draft out the plan on how I'll be able to kill the bastard myself and capture Garcia.
When I was in my room, I brought out a rough sketch of the plans I had already designed. I have a few hours to draft out a perfect plan, but no, I can't seem to find a reasonable idea. Suddenly I felt the presence of Isabella; she was standing by the door. "You know you don't need to continue standing there all day. I expect you to come and start lecturing me like you have always done."
She walks in majestically; the sound of heels echoed through the room walls as she stood beside me. I turned to look at her; I must admit she looked stunningly beautiful, with the mild makeup applied and the gorgeous red dress worn.
Before I could comment on her looks, I felt a sharp sting on my cheeks as she landed a tight slap on my cheeks, which stunned me.
"What was that for?"
"To bring you back to your senses because you have clearly lost it, Zakuski. Dad chose you to become the leader of this kingdom, not because there isn't Jonathan or me, but because you have a great mind to lead, but now what I see is someone who has lost their sense of direction. Now you will be taking vulnerable demons to their death because of what? A woman?"
When I heard what she said, it fueled an unknown rage within me. Without a second thought, I grabbed her by the neck and pinned her to the wall while looking intently into her eyes. "Garcia is just not any woman; she's my woman, mine alone, and not even a stupid bond would stop that."
