In a strange land.
We continued the rest of the journey in silence, as we both didn't know what to talk about, again.
Maybe, it was the tension, or we were just confused. At this moment, I lacked direction, and I didn't have any slight idea about what life outside this castle was going to be for me.
"Where are we even heading to?" I finally broke the silence.
"To nowhere, but a very far away land." Sandra responded almost immediately.
I knew that I couldn't expect a better answer from her, but I was just overwhelmed with so much thoughts. In as much as we needed to be safe, we didn't need to live like refugees.
"This is just harder than I had ever expected..." I blurted in tiredness.
"You're right. I also feel the same way. Well, we don't have any other choice, other than to keep being optimistic." She replied with a smile.
She was so right. I wasn't even going to dispute that fact. The only good thing that we owed ourselves at that moment, was holding back our emotions together.
"I can see some building and cars ahead of us." I signalled to her, with a very warm smile.
"That's true. What do you suggest?" She asked with a smile.
"Well, I think we can stop in a conducive area." I responded.
Just then, we both noticed a slight red light near the staring.
"What could this be?" Sandra asked in surprise.
"This means that we're being traced." I answered her with panic, and we both gasped out in fear.
"Damn! What are we going to do now?" She asked. That was the first time that I was seeing her panic.
Well, we really needed to think fast.
"We need to leave this car, and this environment entirely. If not, we would be trailed to this place." That was just my honest suggestion.
I didn't want to be caught in this weird looking city.
"If we leave just like that, we can still be traced." She said.
"Then, what do you suggest we should do?" I asked her almost immediately.
She paused for a while, before giving me a reply.
"Well, I think that we would have to drive this car into the ocean. With that, I believe that every evidence would be cleared, and their wouldn't be any way to trace us." She responded with a smile.
Most times, some of her words only left me more confused.
"Wait! I really want to understand something. How can we drive the car into the ocean, and who would do that?" I asked her in shock.
"Well, I'll just project the car to move automatically, and by then, we would have left the car." She responded with a smile.
"Unless, so." I said to her with a smile.
It still looked like an impossible task, as I wondered how it was going to happen.
"We'll need to drive back near the bridge, as that would be the only way for us to actualize this plan." She said.
"Before then, we would need to search this car to check if we can realize some money and any other valuable." I replied her.
"That's a good suggestion, but we might only need to pick up some money and leave other things, as they might be used to track us easily." Sandra spoke with so much wisdom, and I smiled at her.
She was right. We really needed to thread with caution.
Immediately we searched the bag that was at the back of the car, we found a full bag of money. It was just like our prayers had been answered.
"Should we carry this bag?" I asked her.
"Yup! I think we would have to. It's just a backpack, and I don't think that their would be any tool that can implicate us inside it. We're wasting too much time. We need to be fast." She said.
We gradually packed the bag well, and we headed out with it. At this moment, we were just at a riverside village, and I don't believe that they would be able to find us before morning.
"I don't think we would need any other thing." I said to her with a smile.
Although I was tensed, I still didn't need to show it, as it would give room for fear to overwhelm me.
I watched as Sandra pressed some buttons in the car, and jumped off immediately. I just couldn't hold it again, and I burst out in laughter.
"You just acted like mixed martial arts expert." I said to her amidst a long session of laughter.
"That was indeed a very close one." She replied, and joined me in the laughter. It was just something that we couldn't hold back.
I watched as she pressed something, and the car started moving by itself. At this time, she was still holding the car key that she was using to control the car.
"What you still be in possession of the key?" I asked her.
"Hell no! I'm disposing it, once this car falls inside the sea." She said with a satisfied face.
Well, the only thing that I could do at this moment, was to continue watching her. Soon, the car was already inside the water, and it made a sinking sound.
"But, why did you leave the car windows open?" I asked her.
"It needs to wash off all the evidence that they can lay their hands on, even before they find the car. And I also want the water to damage a lot of things in the car." She responded.
To be honest, I was just okay with what ever decision that she decided to make. After all, she was doing everything in a very perfect way already, and I didn't need to question her.
"You're a genius. Why don't you work as a detective?" I asked her with a smile, and we both started laughing again.
We were finally free, and it was worth celebrating.
"I'd try that later. For now, I just want to be free." She said.
It was at this moment that I remembered that we were still looking dirty and bruised.
"We look really messed up, how can we change our clothes...?" I asked in realization.
Immediately I said this, Sandra also looked down. It was also at this moment that she remembered that we were still wearing the same outfit, since that time.
