Terrible experience in the cave.

When Vincent said that, I looked at him with a surprised look. How did he want me to swim across this river when I couldn't even swim?

"How would I do that?" I asked him with fear.

Owing to the fact that I couldn't forget what happened the last time that I was in the river, it further helped to intensify my fears.

"You'd have to jump in, and I would help to push your legs across the water." Vincent, said.

To be frank, I couldn't help the fact that I was just very scared. I was even more terrified as a result of what was happening.

"How safe is this?" I asked with visible fear. Even though that I was trying to conceal my fear, it wasn't still very possible for me.

One of the things that I was most scared about, was how the whole thing was unfolding.

"You don't have to be scared. You can trust me..." He muttered.

"I don't think that I can do this." I responded in panic, and I quickly noticed the change in his mood.

Honestly, it was really weird for me to experience everything that was happening at this moment.

"If you don't do this, then these bad spirits would catch up with us. Please, you can do this." He said.

Even though that he was trying very hard to encourage me, I still felt slightly weak and scared. This was really not what I wanted for myself.

"What if I drown?" I asked in fear. I knew that the memory of the past was still there to haunt me, so no matter how hard I tried to fight off the fear that I was facing, my mind still drifted back to what I faced in the past.

"You've asked me before, and I assured you of your safety. We have to do this. These spirits are closing in on us..." "We have to go now. Let's go..." He muttered.

I didn't know what to say or do, other than to oblige. Without thinking twice, I jumped into the river.

"Help me..." I cried out. I was just scared of drowning in this big river.

"Just keep moving, you won't drown." The driver admonished me, and in no time, I was already across that river.

That was a close one!

"I'm so happy that I crossed here alive." I said as I breathed a long sigh of relief.

"I told you..." Vincent said with a smile.

Another thing that I wanted, was for Vincent to cross that river successfully.

"Now, it's time for you to cross over to this side. It's your own turn." I said to him with a smile. Now, I knew that it was going to be easy for him.

After all, he was the one that asked me to cross over to this other side of the river.

"I'm waiting for the water current to reduce. If I try to cross here now, I might find it hard to make it there alive." He explained to me.

At this time, I couldn't explain the reason why I was feeling scared. I didn't know what was going to happen. I didn't also know why I was having a bad premonition that something bad was going to happen.

Ohh moon goddess, what is it?

"Please, we need to leave here fast. I'm already getting scared. I didn't want anything to happen to you..." I said to him with a worried look.

Honestly, if anything happens to Vincent, then it means that I'm doomed for life.

"Hehehe..." He laughed. "You don't need to be scared, ma'am. Just take it easy, nothing is going to happen to me." Vincent said, and I looked at him with a not too sure gaze.

Indeed, I was worried about him.

"Please, cross over immediately." I muttered in fear.

One thing about me was the fact that my instincts were never wrong. I knew that something bad was going to happen, but I didn't know where it was going to come from, and that was my major concern.

"Sure, ma'am. I'd do just that..." Immediately he said that and made to enter the water, the waves carried him, and I started crying.

Ohh!

What was I going to do to save?

"No... Please, don't drown... Please..." I cried out in fear.

"Moon goddess, don't allow him to go like that, please." I prayed in fear.

Honestly, I didn't need anyone to tell me that my own life was in jeopardy if anything happened to him.

Finally, the storms in the water calmed down, and he was finally able to come out of the water.

Words cannot even explain how grateful and relief that I felt at that moment. I just didn't want to imagine what would have happened if anything happened to him I'm this water.

"But, what happened to you?" I asked him in shock. The feeling that I had experienced at that moment, wasn't even quantifiable.

Mere looking at Vincent, I could see the shock that he also had in his eyes. It was really a narrow escape, and we were supposed to be grateful about it.

"It's something that I cannot really explain." He began. "Probably, it was the water spirits that wanted to take me." He responded with a smile.

"I'm glad that they didn't succeed in taking you. I can't imagine what my journey would look like without your presence. I've lost Karen in the past, and I wouldn't want to lose you as well." I said with weakness.

Honestly, I couldn't thank the goddess of the moon enough for keeping him safe. It was really worth celebrating.

"Indeed, I'm grateful, as well." He replied, and I smiled at him. This was really worth being happy about.

"So, what do we do now...? Where are we going to from now?" I asked him with uncertainty.

He paused with a smile, before replying.

"The next step that were going to conquer, is crossing that active volcano." He explained.

How possible was this going to be?
