The Drive

Grayson pov

We sat there in silence for a few minutes before I spoke.

"Don't worry about her, let's just enjoy the ride."

She knodded her head but didn't speak.

"Syd, why don't you tell me about Wesley."

"Are you sure you want to know it all?"

"Yes, I want to know everything about you. No matter what happened!"

"Okay, well I guess I should start with what my mother told me summed up. My mother came to the human world was kidnapped by my grandfather and father who are hunters. She was beaten and raped repeatedly until she was pregnant with me. Fast forward I just turned 18 and she went out to get a dessert and when she was out there was a car accident. What I didn't know at the time was it was a set up, a Lycan that she met when I was 5 years old came back and helped her escape."

She took a deep breathe as I waited for her story to continue.

"I was allowed to leave but on the condition I would be returning home, I lived with Alice a human and Rich a rogue werewolf. My father never met them due to Rich being a wolf, luckily he had no way to tell. Right after I met Wesley and we started dating, my father called and wanted me home for dinner. I went home and I ended up engaged to this horrible guy........"

She paused in thought.

"I am assuming he was a fellow hunter now. I left the first time but the second time I ended up outside alone with him. I don't know how but Wesley found me. He beat him up and brought me home with him where his doctors worked on me. It was about a month before I recovered and was able to move. I still tried to go back to see him but that's when my mother stopped me and told me he knows I was with a werewolf. He called the cops on Wesley and told them that I was kidnapped and Wesley had to show them pictures of what my "FIANCEE" had done to me. After that I moved in with Wesley."

I couldn't stop myself, I growled loudly at what she spoke.

"I'm sorry.....I didn't know he wasn't my mate. He thought I was his mate and I didn't know anything. When my mother told me it was time to find her, I knew I had to do it alone. When Wesley left to go help another pack with the missing pups, I knew this is when I needed to leave. I was expecting him to know I was leaving and come back for me but he didn't so I kept running until you found me."

"So he really was your protector from your dad.....you know he will never lay a hand on you again. After we get things taken care of we will deal with him and that bastard that laid there hands on you!"

"I knew that would come up eventually but I am more concerned with letting Wesley know I didn't know I had the power to make him believe he was my mate. If he wasn't my mate I don't know how he found me. He said he felt the bond Grayson but couldn't pin point me so he went to my house then sniffed me out."

"You remember what your mom said about there is a link because he is your protector?"

"Yes."

"Well, the bond between protector and you is similar to a mate bond. He is going to feel your pain, he won't be able to track you unless you are close which is why he got lucky and if he didn't go to your old house he would have never been able to find you."

"He's mated now...."

"How do you feel about it?"

"I am happy for him but.....I'm afraid he will be so mad at me when we go to his pack to see him."

"You don't want to call him to tell him your safe, I'm sure he knows you left by now."

"Maybe, maybe I should. What if he doesn't want to be my protector, what will happen then?"

"Don't worry about that....first we need to talk to him. Then we can worry about that if he decides that."

"Okay, I guess first we get through theses hunters first!"

"Yes my princess."

I looked at her as she turned and looked out the window.

I could tell she had so much going through her mind right now.

Everytime I looked at her I was amazed by her beauty. I heard everything from her life recently and I was amazed she made it through it all.

One thing that caught my attention was that a Lycan saved her mother, there is not Lycan except me and.......and since I didn't do it. My brother rescued my mate's mother and set my mate free! That I will have to look into more later, right now I needed to focus on the hunters and saving this pack and reuniting the packs to one kingdom again.

I saw Sydney closing her eyes as we were travelling. I pulled her to me as she rested her head on my shoulder, I softly put her head on my lap as she curled up. Just as she was about to fall asleep the car stopped.

"We have arrived Lycan King and Luna." The driver stated.

I smiled at his statement to us.

"Thank you!"

He came around and opened the door up to us.

I got out of the car, turned to my mate and helped my hand out for her to grab. She smiled up at me and put her hand in mine as she got out of the car.

We turned around and saw the crowd had already gathered near our car. Alpha Trevor approached us while everyone else stayed behind, watching in awe.

"Good Evening Lycan."

"Good Evening Alpha Trevor, I am sorry for our late arrival. We had some things to take care of that took longer than expected."

"No worries Lycan, I will have my Beta show you to your room. We will do the introductions tomorrow. I will make the announcement will you two get settled."

"Thank you, we will meet in the morning to discuss our plan of action."

His Beta came over to us and grabbed some of our bags from the car to help us out. I looked over to see Alpha Trevor making the announcement about us meeting everyone in the morning. Everyone's eyes were on us as we were guided into the packhouse. I looked around the crowd as I smiled at everyone, I guided Sydney in behind the Beta.

There was a pair of eyes that kept looking at Sydney, not the excited to meet her eyes but like he already knew her. Something told me it was Wesley that he was here instead of his pack so he must be the Alpha that has been helping them out.

We walked up the stairs to the guest bedroom. I let Sydney go inside and watched as she collapsed onto the bed with her stuff by the couch. I stayed by the door with the Beta.

"Thank you Beta, can I ask you a question?"

"Yes, Lycan you may ask me anything. The name is Michael by the way."

"Michael, is there an Alpha named Wesley here?"

"Yes sir, he is from the Moon Light Pack. His mate Annabelle is here as well."

"Is it a recent mating?"

"Yes sir, he found her among the ones he helped escape the hunters. She has been a hunter prisoner for years and her wolf was in hiding. She is just now getting to know her wolf."

Wow, Sydney was right he did get mated and to a hunter's prisoner that was a lot of information.

"Thank you."

"Welcome, is there anything special we can have for you for breakfast in the morning?"

I laughed, we as wolves aren't picky but I appreciated asking us.

"Well, as you know I am not too picky but Sydney does love French Toast. I'm sure she would appreciated it, but it won't be neccessary."

He bowed his head and left the room.

I closed the door and turned around to look at my beautiful mate. I walked over to her and pulled her pants off and left her in the shirt, I then put the covers on top of her. I then put our luggage in the closet and then went to the bed. I stripped down to my boxers and got into bed.

Once underneath the covers I pulled her into my arms. I heard her sigh in relief and I felt safe with her by my side. I closed my eyes and only thought of one thing........my mate by my side.
