The storm

Grayson pov

I woke up with a horrible headache, everyone around me was knocked out as well. We started getting up and checking on everyone. I mindlinked Wesley to make sure everyone inside was okay and accounted for.

We noticed the vampire had escaped I'm not sure how he was able to do that but since he did give birth to my son maybe Sydney was right and he wasn't all bad.

I started heading back to the hospital to check on everyone there.

"Lycan" Wesley mindlinked.

"Yes, Wesley."

"Everyone is accounted for except Aubrey. They said she was in the hospital last they saw her."

"I am heading there now, I will let you know."

"Okay thanks."

I shut off the link as I walked into the hospital. I saw nurses and staff all getting up like they were knocked out too.

"Is everyone okay?" I asked no one in particular.

"Yes Lycan, we aren't sure what happened but everyone seemed to knock out. We are doing head counts now to see if everyone is okay."

"Okay...."

"We are missing....." The nurse frozen when she saw me.

"MISSING WHO?"

She gulped and looked pale.

"Sydney."

I ran into the room she was at and pushed everything around looking for her. I stomped out and walked down to my son's room thinking she went to protect him.

I saw Aubrey still passed out on the ground and my baby still sound asleep.

I called a nurse and she came and they took Aubrey to a bed to make sure everything was okay.

I looked around the room with no sign of Sydney.

I went and stared at my child and touched his head softly.

Then I noticed a note next to him.

It read:


My dearest Grayson,

I am sorry to do this to you but I couldn't wait any longer. I am not meant to be in a world with you, your world is much different than mine. My life has been in danger beause we are so different. We are not meant to be together after all. Our son Xavier doesn't deserve to be taken away from his father. He will one day want answers to who he is and only you can answer that question. I will always carry you and Xavier in my heart but this will be the end of our story. Please raise our son to the best man he can be and don't come looking for me. I am not your mate so please move on and forget about me while you raise our child. Tell Wesley and Annabelle I am sorry that I couldn't stay but I will always remember their friendships and wish them well in future. I will carry you all in my heart and never forget how you were all there for me in different ways.

I stared at the letter in utter shock. She left me and our baby! Something was just not adding up. Even if she left me she would never leave our baby Xavier behind.

"Wesley....." I mindlinked.

"Yes, Lycan."

"Something is wrong, Sydney is gone and I found this letter."

I read the letter to Wesley via mindlink.

"What do you think Wesley? Be honest, you have known her longer than I have."

"Something doesn't add up Grayson. She would never leave you or your baby behind."

"Get over here."

I paced around the room. Reading the letter over and over again.

Wesley walked in the room.

"This doesn't make sense Grayson......she was planning your life together what would make her change her mind."

"I don't know......we rescued her and she told me she was happy to start our life with our baby and now this!"

I tried reaching out to her but couldn't feel anything, she was definately out of reach and I had no clue where she went to.

"I can't feel her anymore Wesley."

In walked Annabelle and Aubrey but Annabelle stayed away from my baby.

"Aubrey, how are you feeling?"

"Like I was hit with a ton of bricks but I will survive."

"What's going on?" Annabelle asked.

"Sydney left me."

I handed them the letter to read.

They both looked up shocked and handed the letter back.

"Since we can't find her maybe we need to wait and see if she just needs time before she comes back." Wesley spoke.

I took a deep breathe.

"I guess I have no choice." I said sadly.

"Wesley, I need to merge our territories. If I start to crazy again I need you and Annabelle to take over and even raise my son Xavier."

"Yes Grayson, we are here for you!" Wesley responded.

"Since there isn't anything left to do here, let's get your luna ceremony planned so we can merge the territories."

I looked to Aubrey and she smiled.

"We will get on planning the ceremony with Wesley's mother." Aubrey responded.

"Come on Annabelle, let's get going."

I looked back to Wesley and then went to my son.

I leaned over as the nurse came in.

"I need to check on your baby Lycan." The nurse said politely.

I backed up but didn't go to far so the nurse could check on him.

She finished and turned to leave.

"How is he doing?"

"The nurse turned, he is progressing very well. With any luck you will be able to take him home soon."

I nodded my head and she turned and left.
