Chapter 25 Accepted

It was only five o'clock in the morning when I took care of it, putting most of my clothes in a suitcase and some other important things in my life, including the cup. Later at seven o'clock the person who would take me to Bicol would pick me up so I didn't hurry. I'm free to think about what I should leave here, I don't have to leave the house because no one knows when I'm leaving, only Partricio. I don't want to tell this to my uncle because I'm sure there will be many more questions.
The decision was made to accept that opportunity because the teacher also needed it in a remote area, it was a mountain so I would expect to stay there as well. I have colleagues who are also from Manila, but I do not share them in the same house. I will stay in only one house and I will be alone. Again.
After I had coffee I left the house immediately, I gently took the hose and opened it to at least water the plants in my yard. Maybe I'll just tell Patricio to visit here if he has time to shower. After arranging the plant I took care of myself, I simply wore what was comfortable and not hot on the body. I just let my hair fall out to dry quickly.
Some time later I heard a horn outside the house, that was the school driver who would pick me up.
"Need help?" he represented that I refused.
"It's okay, I can do it," I said as I pulled out a suitcase and bagpack.
I just put the suitcase in the back, but the bagpack was still with me. Silently entered the rear side of the driver instead of sitting next to him. I just stared at the house I would leave, especially at the big tree where I was staying, at least at the bikol, I would get tired. In the middle of the traffic I received a message from Patricio.
Patty:
What would I say to Daddy Zenos my love, when he asked? Reply you ASAP! You may lose signal there.
I just leaned against the window when I read that. He also has a connection with the people in the mansion, as far as I know he is the one Zeren talks to most about me, so they will wonder why they can't contact me or even visit.
To: Patty
Then tell them. Wait for them to ask before you say, don't take the lead.
I immediately turned off that cell phone so that I could no longer be contacted, I just distracted myself with the fast flight because there wasn't much traffic. I also don't have a break because my class is the next day, it's okay for me to do that instead of screaming all day at my place. It was eleven o'clock at noon when we arrived at the place they were referring to. I could only take it up to the highway because that was no longer possible for traffic.
The muddy path immediately opened up to me and I even noticed that there was a habal-habal standing when called.
"I'm leaving Ma'am, be careful," he let me know when I got down.
"Thanks. Be careful," I said and then bowed slightly.
Later, I looked at the man I had seen before visiting the school where I used to work. If I am not mistaken, he is the nephew of the Chairman.
"We will ride now Ma'am of habal-habal, it's too muddy if we walk," he said to me.
"Looks like, is our car just going there?" I asked because it was impossible to still be muddy up to the place where I was going to stay.
"No, we'll cross the bridge to cross the village. Then we'll go through the rice fields until we get to your lodgings," I explained with a smile that I slowly smiled.
I didn't know that was the way to travel here. Poverty can be really noticeable from the appearance of the area, it is not obvious that the government is under their control because this area seems to be neglected, or maybe it is really neglected. That's exactly what we did. As if the habal-habal could be compared to a motorcycle with seats on either side, I don't know how I would feel when it started moving, it was scary because we could fall.
As time went on I seemed to become more comfortable. The flight took half an hour with almost only grass to be seen, at the end there was a wooden bridge that looked dilapidated. But because there was a boat, that was what we chose to cross. The water in that river is light so there is no problem in crossing, it is not only safe here during storms and sometimes it even overflows and reaches the bridge.
I don't understand what they are saying, I don't know much about that language and I hope that the people here can speak English. I have no time to learn their language, unless, someone's willing to teach me.
We have already started walking, I have nothing else to see but the pure paddy field, if the former was grass, here it seems to be alive. I even saw a farmer widen his smile and smile slightly.
I didn't realize that we were stopping in a crowded part, we had already passed the rice field and I didn't think I would arrive so well. It smells like the province, the tree dancing because of the strength of the wind.
"Here we are Ma'am Ficarro," he said with a smile as we faithfully entered a house I did not expect.
I thought I would live in a hut. It's just like a typical house in manila that is so simple. Some time later I noticed that door open, spitting out two old couple-looking couples and staring intently at us.
"I am Crising, and he's my husband Rogelio, good day," the woman with me greeted with a smile. "What a beautiful day to you. Is she that girl?" asked the old man who looked at me again.
"It's me," I said politely as they both smiled.
"You can meet other teachers who are also from here, that's where they live." It teaches just the other side as well. "We're leaving right away ma'am, sir. You'll take care of her," said the Chairman's nephew with a smile.
I was left standing in front of my lodgings, as they talked. I don't have anything to worry about because later the teachers who also live in this area will come home and guide me in what I will do next. After a while, the two of us left and we were the only ones left.
"Come and enter your lodging. It's a good thing I was able to prepare lunch, or you can let go of that first and sit down," she would take care of me.
I found out that I was the only one in this house but the other teacher was in the other house as well. The two elders own it. The comfort was just right, there was no bed but there was a cot there with thick foam. There is only enough space in the house facing the distant rice field and the houses just right away. I was wrong to think I was alone.
Somehow I will also have someone to help me here. I could smell the peaceful air. It seems that in this place I will find the answer that troubles me and complete my missing self.
