Chapter 54 Faded

"You're so adorable, for sure I look like you," mama comforted my son who had been fidgeting on the sofa.
"He's smiling! Matt! Look! Oh my god!" shocked that it said Sevein laughed.
"He can't see and hear you, honey. Don't be assum—"
"Shut up, old man." Mama glared at papa causing him to be quiet and handed the paper he was holding to Sevein.
I couldn't stop you from my own laugh with the others. Gale stomped several times, his feet and seemed to still be laughing at the same time. I can say that for a few weeks I was also able to rest well and gradually accepted everything. I need a little more time, just a little bit.
"Let's go, Gale," I said softly then carefully lifted from lying on the sofa.
A smile flashed on his lips that matched his gray baby romper, a smile met my cheek causing his eyes to widen.
"Uncle, will drive for us," I said softly to mama then she stood up.
"Take care. Take care of these two, Zenos, but I'm telling you," mama's eyes widened as she looked at uncl who just saluted.
"All right, old lady." Uncle scolded mama.
Dad, on the other hand, was tapped by uncle Zenos who was obviously grateful for the revenge. Mama just shook her head as she approached papa who couldn't stop laughing. I slightly waved his little hand in front of them and the others did the same. When I got in the car, uncle was still supporting me. I also noticed Gale's frequent stare at his grandfather and the sudden smile.
"If he's just here, he'll do it. He'll be happy when he finds out he looks like you child," uncle said weakly as we were in the middle of the road.
I stared at the boy who was slightly dancing. It stands on my thigh so I support it well. It was facing me and I could clearly see how his eyes widened as we looked at each other. But I was even more crushed when he slowly smiled and removed his finger from his mouth then stuck it to my nose. I heard every word he said, that's all I couldn't understand. When we arrived at the hospital, my former schoolmate first opened up to me, his eyes widened as he looked at the child I was holding.
"Your son?! You're serious! Is that your husband? Sugar daddy?" He pointed to uncle who was on the side and talking on the phone.
"Excuse me?" I raised my eyebrows here as Gale laughed slightly who was obviously noticing who I was talking to.
"Isn't it? I thought it was your husband. You said before that you were looking for a sugar daddy," she laughed, pinching Gale's cheek.
"Maybe Veron was the one you talked to before."
"I don't know either, you look so alike. I'm leaving. Bye bye baby!" Its waving at the child.
I just smiled at that woman who often talked to Zeren. I signaled to uncle to come in first. Who is the doctor of their son Zafia, is the same with my son. So we wouldn't have a hard time approaching because he was one of those who took care of me ten years ago.
"How are you Gale, are you doing well today? Huh? Oh, he's nodding," the doctor said laughing.
With a smile, I helped the child to sit up, he was able to support himself to sit up a bit because it had been a few months. It just looks at the doctor and watches every move. His eyes widened as he pressed the stethoscope to his chest.
"It's, okay, nak, just behave Gale," I calmed down due to the slight arching of his lip.
"Brrmmm, ahm ... Ahm .." he said holding my finger.
I laughed slightly as he pointed at my chest. He is already hungry. So the doctor speeded up what he was doing and then allowed us to go home. Uncle and I just got along before we decided to go to Zeke's house. Twice a month we went to his father's house to get acquainted with him. When we entered the village, the child was dancing even more, just looking out the window.
"He looks familiar with his father's house," uncle began as I nodded.
"Yeah, he also knows which room he should go to," I said smiling then he stopped driving.
"In his room?"
"No. In master bedroom," I laughed as he laughed as well.
"Bye! Bye!" I lowered my voice and waved at Gale's hand.
It just closed and opened its hand and then hid around my neck. When uncle left, we went inside. Gale just silently watched the yard until we could get inside and he wanted to go down. I lowered it and it immediately sat up straight, I trust the child because it does not move.
"Come with me Gale." I would play with it and then it would crawl closer to me.
Laughing it chases me down once more. When I got to the stairs I also supported it on the climb. Carefully built and supported foot to step on. His hand clung tightly to the grills as I held one.
"Don't you want to walk anymore? Don't you want to?" I asked as he asked.
It still didn't lift when we got to the top. I still support it with the walk that I sometimes let go of, I want to be amazed because he helps himself to balance standing and walking slowly.
"M-Mama..." he said softly with a smile and slowly walked towards me.
I got on my knees in no time because of what I heard. At the same time as it walks slowly smiling it repeats the call to me.
"Oh my god! Say it again," I whispered as he approached me.
"Mom, ahm ahm." It pointed to my chest.
I smiled with great joy and kissed his cheek as he did to me, but he kissed my cheek and forehead as his father did.
"You did a lot of achievement today, Gale." I pinched his cheek then stood up.
I don't know how long we've been walking down the hallway of the second floor because of the slowness of his walk. Well, a little progress is still a progress. I'm glad he's volunteering.
"Sleepy?" I asked as he slammed the master bedroom door.
"Ohh, zip mama..."
"Sleep? Okay go ahead, let's go to sleep," I said and then he acted to do the work.
When I laid him down on the big bed he repeatedly stomped on the bed, he also wrapped himself in a blanket and slightly pulled my hand. He wanted to be next to me.
"I will sing okay? Then you're going to sleep huh?" I said to the boy earlier I smiled who was leaning in front of me. He just held his hand to my cheek and gently stroked it. I wrapped mineg arm to his body and lightly patted the back.
"Now, my life is blessed with the love of an angel... How can it be true. Somebody to keep the dream alive.. The dream I found in you... " I could barely feel the song his father often listened to and often sang to me.
A song he likes to use the most in a most important part of his life that it is impossible for him to do. I moved slightly to see if the child was asleep. It was snoring and its long cheek was squeezing as it leaned on the bed. Its hand still not leaving my cheek. A replica of the lost.
???
"Veron?! Did you see my red notebook?"
"No. What am I going to do then?"
"Oh my god! Where is it?! Kelly? Did you see my red book?" I asked the woman busy painting.
"No. I'm sorry. Wait, I'll find it in library."
"Thank yo—"
"Why are you shouting? We have a meeting there, can't you see?" my uncle asked me as he lay down the papers.
"I'm sorry. I-I can't find my notebook."
"I will buy you."
"No, d-don't. You can't understand," I washed my face.
Uncle's head turned and then looked behind him where my other aunts and uncles were.
"You're in a 5th grade, a lot of notebooks are outdated there, you don't have to cry over the simple notebook that's gone."
I felt downcast. He can't understand. That's important to me. "T-That's where I wrote my novel," I said weakly as the others looked on.
Uncle's eyes narrowed and then he sighed. "I see, that's why you're crying. Are you done with your novel?" he asked and I shaked my head.
Not yet. I just wrote it last week.
"Okay. I'll find it later. Don't cry anymore."
"But what if, we haven't seen it?" I asked then uncle slowly came over and wiped away my tears.
"Look, if ever we can't find your red notebook where your novel written there. It means, it's not meant to you."
I looked up because of what I heard. What about it's not meant to me? Can't understand him at all. He grabbed my waist and hugged me.
"Let yourself cry to the something that is missing, it's okay. But do remember, something is come along better than the old one. Everything that is missing has a replacement. And it will be better other than that. For now, just cry. And keep it your mind that it's okay."
???
Yeah. It's okay. Thanks for his words. I wrote an numerous novels from that day.
"Now I understand what my uncle means. Your dad made sure he had a replacement before he left. And it's you Gale. Thank you, Zeke."
